The addition of the Hybrid system has obviously been detrimental to the product so I won’t beat a dead horse. However, i’ve seen little mention of how poorly Firestone missed on the road & street course tire compounds this season. Due to a handful of tire delamination issues over the past couple of seasons Firestone vastly overcorrected this offseason in relation to the alternate tire compound. Ultimately, we now have alternate tire that can run about the same stint duration as the primary if necessary. The alternate compound should be significantly faster but the falloff should be brutal enough to make for a real trade-off. Instead, the margins are so close between the two compounds that it’s removed some of the strategy & advantage regarding the compound you run. It’s a hard task to find a middle ground, and Firestone is a great partner, but unfortunately it’s our reality right now.
So my father wants to send in last years Indy 500 ticket to Penske so that Newgarden could sign it, while I’m on board I am not sure if they would send it back, of course we could also try to catch newgarden in person next month (hopefully he doesn’t rip my heart out on national tv) but has anyone tried to mail in for autographs?
I'm curious if anyone at the race could tell us if this team member sustained injuries. I'm not saying he wasn't hit but in the video he had absolutely no reaction to allegedly having a car run over his legs. One would think having your feet and legs behind you like that, if a car ran over them you'd probably fall down immediately.
The penalty took Power from 6th to 24th which if he hit the crew member is understood but if he didn't actually make contact it seems pretty unfair.

Made a post earlier asking for some suggestions on what to pay attention to, thanks for all the responses!
To preface, I got into motorsport after watching the F1 movie, but with the current gap in the F1 calendar I started watching a ton of INDYCAR and NASCAR videos on youtube and genuinely enjoyed hearing about and watching both series so figured I'd watch the race today.
Mainly tried paying attention to Rosenqvist, Power, and Schumacher. Overall enjoyed the race, enjoyed that the cards were packed together. Really unfortunate for Rosenqvist :( I was watching the main FOX broadcast, looked like Siegel was having the time of his life with overtake after overtake but I didn't know where to watch onboards until most of the race was done :(
I know you guys probably hear this every day but the commercials REALLY took me out of it, genuinely was completely immersion breaking and was unbearable honestly, took away from the experience so much.
Either way, enjoyed the racing, enjoyed the commentating, nice to hear Buxton! Definitely will watch more races in the future.
Here are some select photos and selfies with me cropped out from the Long Beach weekend.
With the F1 break been branching out and watching a lot of NASCAR and INDYCAR replays and been really enjoying it. Haven't really latched onto any storylines yet, hoping to tune into my first live INDYCAR race in an hour, any drivers or teams I should be paying extra attention to? :)
I usually don’t take too many photos I like just living in the moment but tried to get a few.
