Sweaty bride ! 😭

Hi everyone, I’m getting married in 3 weeks and I’m really stressed about my facial/scalp sweating. I’ve always struggled with excessive sweating, especially when anxious or the centre of attention.

At my engagement lunch, my MUA did “sweat-proof” makeup but it still didn’t help, even with anxiety medication. I was sweating badly from my face and scalp the whole time. I also suffer from hand sweating and recently bought an iontophoresis machine to try.

I’m mainly interested in medications or treatments that actually help facial/scalp hyperhidrosis urgently before my wedding. Would really appreciate any recommendations or experiences 🤍

My hands have been sweating for 10 days 😭🥲 I'm really having enough of this

My hands used to sweat only sometimes before. Most of the days none at all. But it has been sweating every day for the past 10 days, after using a stimulant medication that was wrong for my body (i haven't been using it for 5 days). It used to be completely dry in the mornings, and i would quickly wear a cotton sock and it would somehow lock in the dryness for the whole day for most of the days. I had found this technique worked years ago, since my hands and feet sweat since i was little. Now, my hands and feet start sweating the moment i wake up and sometimes my bed is a bit wet too. Only my hands and feet sweat not even my underarms thankfully. The sweat isn't much but it is constantly MOIST. This is making me completely miserable. I feel like i can't do anything right when they sweat. I struggle with my confidence. I struggle with showing up to meetings with people. I haven't gone to a doctor about this at all, i am 23 female, we can hardly even find dermatology appointments in this country. And my mother doesn't care or understand in the slightest.

I'll go ahead and make myself a DIY iontophoresis device today! Where did you get the necessary stuff, from which shops? Do you all have any advice or recommendations? Thanks!

Update: My doctor prescribed aluminum hydroxychloride cream to be used twice a day. I am so glad i finally went to a doctor about this, i was immediately diagnosed 😭🙏🏻🥹 this cream will most probably help but if it doesn't help i am gonna make myself a DIY iontophoresis device. I am so relieved and happy that this problem of mine is finally addressed! Thanks a lot to this community that i can relate to and find support & understanding.

An ex gf in my twenties had hyperhidrosis… which led me to sexualise the condition

I think when you’re with someone, you start being into whatever they are, which in her case included always being sweaty everywhere.

I feel really bad about this because it’s something that people struggle with immensely and I feel like I’m making light of it.

I don’t really know what to do about it.

Life would be so easy without hyperhydrosis

I constantly think how easy my life would be without HH, it’s driving me insane ugh. I spend all day looking at people living life and just feeling comfortable in any environment they’re in it makes me crazy with envy and jealousy. While I have to constantly feel over-heated, sweaty, gross and sopping wet. I see people complain over doing things and think how easy I would be able to show them up if my hands didn’t constantly hurt. I would be able to live life like normal it would feel soooo freeing. That’s my dream in life. I just wanna be cured of HH.

(I swear I just go on this sub to vent lol, but I’m happy I’m able to. I plan on ordering antihydrol for my hands so I hope it works well. If anyone has tried it I would love to hear about your opinions/experiences with it!)

Athlete’s foot or not?

Ever since I moved to the UK, I get this every summer. I think I’ll go to the doctor’s soon but wanted people’s thoughts. It only really itches in the evenings. I think peeling is because I’ve been rubbing my feet on each other like a cricket or on my bed’s edge to scratch the itch. One of my nurse friend’s said it seemed like heat rash. It’s usually only on the inner side of my feet and sometimes the arch

I said no to my friends today because of Hyperhidrosis.

22M I joined this new class and we’ve been playing this fun game after class for the past two days. But after the game my underarms and palms sweat in a really cold ac room which made it awkward for me because I’m dry everywhere except for my underarm and it’s visible through my shirt like I poured water on it. Today as usual I really wanted to play so bad but I turned them down giving a shitty reason. It’s really hurtful that I have to live this way and not tell anyone about it.

Tired of iontophoresis, thinking about switching to Antihydral – need advice

Hey everyone,

I’ve been dealing with palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis for years. I’ve been using iontophoresis for a long time now.

It works for me pretty well overall – I’d say I’m dry about 90–100% most of the time.
However, I’m really getting exhausted from the maintenance.

I still need to do treatments about 3 times a week, and I feel kind of “dependent” on the machine. If I stop for a few days, I sometimes get sweating back in the fingertips.

I also use baking soda and tap water (our tap water is pretty strong/mineral-heavy), which helps a bit, but still the routine is tiring.

Honestly, I’m just tired of being tied to a machine all the time.

I’m considering switching to Antihydral cream since I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, especially for hands and feet. I also have the option to order 4 tubes from Germany.

My questions for people who have tried both:

  • Is Antihydral really that effective compared to iontophoresis?
  • Is it easier to maintain long-term?
  • Any regrets switching?
  • Any side effects that made you stop using it?

I’m mainly looking for something that gives me freedom and doesn’t feel like a constant “treatment routine”.

Would really appreciate real experiences and honest opinions.

Thanks!

Guys shirt recommendations

I’m curious if anyone has recommendations for some casual summer shirts that help hide a lot of arm pit sweating? Any brand or anything that you particularly like that makes it less noticeable? I have a few colored tee-shirts with a black stripe down the side and I found that to be a good option. Curious what anyone else likes?

Glycopyrrolate is the truth

I’ve struggled with specifically chronic back sweat since high school. Now in college, walking around with a backpack made it especially bad.

I’ve used glyco for 3 days now and it’s basically a miracle drug. 1 2mg pill wasn’t quite enough so I took 2 the last 2 days and it made me feel like a completely new person. When it’s warm, I’m just warm like a regular person, not dripping with sweat (or sweating at all).

If you’re thinking about buying it, do it, it will save your confidence. I got mine from
https://redboxrx.com/

If you’re like me and price is a concern, it costed 25 for the diagnoses (1 time thing) and 45 for 90 2mg pills. You can pay month by month if you’re worried about recurring payments. I hope this helps someone.

Gang

I sweat so much. Iwanna wear cute clothes and all. But i mostly js wear black and oversized clothings cause it makes sweat less visible, air circulation, and i can always put those sweatpads/stickers on the fabric, hence sweat doesn't reach the ouside part.

But like how do you actually manage to wear light, esp grey colours without it showing on the fabric. I hate hateee sweat stains!!

And the sweat usually leaves weird smell too, ive tried several deodorants, antiperspirants with high level of aluminium, with and without fragrance, or just leaving it like that, but nothing helped.

How do you deal with these? Please share your hacks, tips or even just normal day stories. I've no one to talk about it and I'd love to hear from fellow women (men are free to share too) and not feel alone in this!!😭

Lowkey cooked

I might be cooked. So I have hyperhidrosis or sweaty hands and feet. And I sweat my hands a lot even though It’s not hot . So when I travel I have to do the biometric fingerprints scan to enter a country. My goodness I sweat my hands at the wrong time and sometimes I get nervous because of my sweaty hands 😭**. So anytime I’m traveling I get nervous now because of my sweaty hands** 💦🖐️. Funny story: I got detained at the US airport because they couldn’t verify** my prints😭because of my sweaty hands . I was let go though and they** told me just to wipe your hands 😐** (brother I been living this shit for my life ) I can’t just wipe the problem off . So now my parents have been talking about traveling and now I**’m** worryin**********g 🫡. Any tips or advice or any cure you have please enlighten me . Thank you so much for your consideration and patience.

TLDR: sweaty hands at airports , can’t use them for fingerprint identification.

Edit: when I’m nervous I sweat and the more nervous I am, the more sweat I accumulate. So it won’t go away that easily even when I tried to wipe or clear my thoughts (I forgot to add)

How to keep my hair presentable with hyperhidrosis?

So, I had no idea this community existed, and I'm feeling hopeful that someone might help me with this. Basically, just like everyone else, I sweat. A lot. There are surgeries for it in my country, but it's not recommended for those who have it concentrated on the head/scalp because it could be compensated to other body parts, and in my case, it's only on the forehead and scalp areas and it ruins my hair.

It is naturally curly, but I have straightened it since I was a kid, as I got older, I started sweating more, and now even straightening procedures don't work anymore, I did one last week, and every time I go out, I get anxious and start sweating and the hair on the back part of my head curls all over and it gets super weird.

I also tried going natural, but every time I start sweating, it gets really dry and frizzy, and it looks awful. Is there a way to prevent sweating on the scalp or to keep my hair in decent shape even if I sweat? It honestly ruins my self-esteem.

Been using antihydral for 3 nights and it seems to be pretty good

After contemplating Botox, sweat gland removal and Miradry I've come across Antihydral which seems to be a pretty cheap alternative with few side effects.

Im using it on hands, feet and armpits and I'm already seeing greatly reduced sweating. I especially struggled with armpit sweat and its not totally gone but I'd say pretty normal, no huge sweat stains after biking for 5 minutes or just after sitting around.

Even after the gym its really moderate, when before I would sweat so much my hoodie and jacket would be wet when I came home.

For me using it on the hands is pretty annoying because I wear nitril gloves which kinda feel weird and make me sweat through the cream, but feet and armpits are pretty convinient, I just wear a shirt and socks.

Im not seeing any compensatory sweating (yet) either which is nice. I also ordered the spray which I might try on the hands since I heard its supposed to dry better so maybe I wont need to wear gloves in bed. Other side effects are only that the skin on (small) parts of my hands are peeling very mildy and my finger tips prune a bit quicker when they come into contact with water for prolonged periods of time. Basically nothing, especially compared with what I've read about alternative procedures.

Just wanted to share this because I wish I would have known about it sooner and it would have spared me a lot of shame in my life and its just so easy and works so quickly. Its also passive, works while you're sleeping in contrast to Ionto which seems like a huge hassle.
