We are an independent two-person team based in France, working on a tabletop roleplaying game we have been developing for several years. The setting blends medieval folklore, gothic horror, and apocalyptic dark fantasy. Playtesting is ongoing, the manuscript is well underway, and we are preparing a Kickstarter campaign followed by a full commercial release in print and digital. This is a serious long-term project, not a hobby publication, and illustration is a central pillar of the work.

We intend to treat the artists we collaborate with as genuine creative partners, in terms of recognition, fair compensation, and creative freedom.

We are now opening paid commissions and would love to hear from artists whose work resonates with the direction we are building.

The visual direction

We are looking for painterly dark fantasy with a strong sense of atmosphere, weight, and physicality. The reference images attached give the clearest sense of the direction. If your work feels close to this register, in mood, tone, or approach, we want to hear from you.

The references are credited to their respective artists and shown as illustrations of the direction we are looking for, not for copying: Dariusz Kieliszek, Artem Demura, Antonio J. Manzanedo, and Ivan Klimenko.

Scope and budget

We will be commissioning a range of pieces across the book. Our starting budget per piece, for full commercial license:

- Spot illustrations: from €100

- Half-page interior pieces: from €200

- Full-page interior pieces: from €400

- Cover: from €800

These are baseline figures. Final rates are negotiated individually based on the artist's portfolio, experience, and the scope of the specific piece. We are happy to go higher for work that justifies it. Funds are secured and available now, independently of the Kickstarter campaign.

Licensing

All work is commissioned under an exclusive commercial license covering the book, crowdfunding campaign, marketing, merchandise, and any future licensed adaptations of the game. You retain copyright and moral rights in accordance with French law, the right to display the piece in your portfolio, the right to share and use it for self-promotion on your social media and personal channels, and the right to sell physical prints to collectors. The exclusivity only restricts licensing the same work to other commercial projects. Credit is guaranteed in the book and across all promotional uses.

Payment by PayPal or bank transfer, whichever suits you best.

Long-term collaboration

This is the first book of what we hope will be a long-term universe, with supplements, expansions, and further projects to come. Artists we connect with on this first wave are the artists we would love to keep working with as the world grows.

Drop a comment with a link to your portfolio. We will reach out by DM to artists whose work fits the project to discuss the specific brief, scope, and final rate. All experience levels welcome, established artists and emerging talents alike.

I want a white on black silhouette of my recently passed dog for printing on a metal plate. She had colorful accessories, so step 2 is adding those accessories to this white line on black silhouette.

I am providing 4 basis pictures, and I'm willing to give $75 for the silhouette picture.

I am not looking for 4 silhouettes, I am looking for a single silhouette, and I am hoping that the artist I work with can give me some thoughts on what is going to make the most artistic image. I have tried using AI, and thankfully I am now here.

I have attached an AI product at the end that describes what I am looking for, but the idea is to make it more uniform and amenable to a portrait orientation. And have it be only the dog. This is provided only for communicating what the end product would look like. I respect artists, and the AI image is more to communicate the idea in my head.

Hi! My name is Michele, I am an illustrator and animator and have modeled a little, but I am not the best. I am currently trying to put together a process (and a team) to make my animated series. I am also trying to figure out if I want it in 2D or 3D orrrr 3D with a 2D style to it (which is the way I am leaning most). I am interested in paying 2 3D artists to recreate my illustration of my character Zarah in 3D. I have turnaround poses of her and everything.

Please list your socials handles and attach examples of your previous work. I don’t know how long it will take to model and rig a character like this but a month deadline. Looking to get people started on the modeling her by June 1st. So by July 1st. As an artist myself I don’t want to short change anyone or not pay enough but I can pay tops $400. So if you feel you that’s too low please don’t feel like you need to take on less than you know your worth.

Looking for someone to do a custom pokemon design. It will technically be for a version of a pokemon that doesn’t exist, so there will be a lot of latitude in how it is illustrated. I’ll attach some examples of pokemon illustration styles that I like.

You won’t need to do any of the text or anything, it’ll just be the image of the pokemon/backround.

Pretty open with my budget but if possible below $150 would be preferable, but open to reasonable negotiation.

Super straightforward request here. Dnd Campaign coming to a close 3rd week of June and previous attempts at finding an artist haven't gone all too well.

This will be a priority job it must be be complete in 3/4 weeks.

I am in GMT +1 time so looking for someone similar to myself or willing to be regularly available during "EU hours"

Psst I really like watercolor so that is totally an option (digital watercolor).

It's a party of 5 and we have very detailed references for them all. Looking to get started on this asap so will choose someone in under 24 hours. We're open to various styles and often the standardised DnD look falls a little flat for me so if anything the more unique the better.

Budget is negotiable but will provide good ballpark.
