Any recommendations on a muzzle device? And how am I supposed to torque to spec? Does an AR15 bev block work?
I’m liking some of the specs of the newer H9 Protectors…specifically the weight…under 7lbs with wood furniture.
Has Henry addressed or fixed the issue they were having with the 360 Buckhammers? I seem to remember some people saying they were having accuracy issues with some of the H9 Classics…potentially barrel issues, I don’t recall exactly.
I’ve been thinking about getting a shorter barreled, light(ish) weight lever for hunting a mountainous area of western/central Pennsylvania…basically a somewhat long hike up a steep mountain side and it levels out into a ridgeback that runs for miles. The terrain goes up and down, left and right so average shots in that area are under 100 for sure (there’s probably some open woods shots that could be more but I’d be worried about all of the branches and stuff I can’t see with my eyes).
The other side of this is a lightweight bolt action but I prefer a lever. I’m about 2 hours east of Pittsburgh so I was thinking about a straight wall over something like a 30-30 because I believe there are some areas out there that you can only use straightwall cartridges…then obviously Ohio isn’t all that far away either, although I might not ever hunt either area…I haven’t heard anything bad about the Buckhammer cartridge
Let me know if I’m on the right track or if I should be looking elsewhere, thanks!
I love my 5.56 lever supreme so much im currently trying to get it smithed into being multi-caliber, so seeing it come out in a third base caliber is super exciting for me.
I just bought the .357/38 Spl H12 Protector carbine and feel like my buckhorn sights are shooting super low. I have been aiming at the 6 o'clock position onto the target.
I am thinking of getting a skinner peep sight to use as a ghost ring, but not sure which one would fit the receiver.
I also want to get a fiber optic front sight, but not sure what the barrel contour is. The only Henry skinner front sights seem to be dovetail and mine is a screw on.
Anyone have any advice?
What do you guys think a used big boy brass in 357 with no side gate is worth? Cant really use anything that I have found online as most of the used guns are on gunbroker and I know that most asking prices are high.
The condition of the gun is a few scratches on the end plate and near the end of the barrel, but no big scratches or gouges anywhere. Wood is in excellent condition, but the finish on the lever seems to be coming off. Honestly dont know why as I have always cleaned the gun after shooting it.
Just finished up mounting the scope and felt it deserved a place on the mantle! 😂
One of the first generation Henry revolver. It's a beautiful gun and nicely made and finished. The ability to remove the cylinder make cleaning easier.
Can't really pin down why I don't like shooting it but it's probably going swapped out for something else someday.
Well hello there! Monday morning with the Henry All-Weather .44magnum from Brownells Chopped, threaded and tuned by MadPig Customs. Stock and accessories from RPP. Handquard from XS Sights, Rugged Obsidian 45 and a new optic up top from Vector Optics
A while back I posted a picture of my Henry Golden Boy Silver .22 WMR with lots of cosmetic problems out of the box. Henry responded and fully replaced my firearm. My new one's action feels much slicker and the finish is picture perfect this time. Henry was quick about it, my state law requires 10 day background checks unfortunately. But Henry didnt question it, they got it done fast. Thank you Henry team!
Hello,
I had my Henry Big boy in the soft case and it fell on the ground barrel first. It created a pretty decent gouge on the barrel by the crown. Honestly it bothers me a lot and I want to replace or repair the barrel. Will Henry do so? Any ideas of cost? I have already reached out to CS but its now the weekend. Im sick to my stomach because I've kept this Im pristine condition and im OCD about these things. Thank you
I’ve been wanting a good ole 30-30 for a while and found the new h9 protector new for $969 and couldn’t say no. Got it topped with a vortex viper hd 2-10 along with a silencerco omega 300. Inside it has the rpp trigger kit which is a must to me. Anyone know of a good cheek rider for this rig?
I was looking into getting skinner sights for my Henry color cased hardened in .44 magnum it currently has buckhorn sights I was shooing at 50 yards and it was shooting high with the rear sight all the way back my question is do I just have to get a peep sight or do I have to change the front sight too any feedback is appreciated thanks
When I first got the gun it was easy to insert a fully loaded mag with the action closed and chambering a round was super smooth. Now I have to use a lot of force to insert the mag and it feels like the bolt is grinding against the bullet casing when I try to rack one. The magazine definitely isn't overloaded. I know I can just insert the mag with the action open but I didn't need to before so I'm wondering if I messed something up the last time I took it apart to clean it. Does anything look off?
I picked up this H023 the other day. Chambered in 5.56 nato/223 rem. I got the cheek riser/shell holder and vector continental LPVO from Amazon. I used cheap 550 cord from Walmart to wrap the lever. I'll eventually replace it with leather cordage. I love it so far!
What’s your recommendation on a scope for this rifle. 95% of my hunting is 100yds or less. Thank you.
