I am BEGGING on my hands and knees, please do not to let AH get away with doing this.

The mechs are looking like they're in the warbond, I saw this coming a mile away but its still extremely disheartening to see.

The slow siphoning of content into the warbonds is absolutely tragic and I'm seriously hoping people don't justify THIS as well.

The new Warbond is actually disgusting

Really, Narrowhead? Locking vehicles behind a Warbond!?

These new mechs should have been free upgrades to the default ones, not locked behind a Warbond. This is actually disgusting monetization.

"Oh but you can just grind for free!" sure thing glazer. 40$ game by the way.

Free 2 play slopgames have far better free content than this 40$ "premium title". I play War Thunder and even in that monetized crapfest, at least the devs bother adding more free content to the tech trees for players to unlock. Not to mention at least we get free daily rewards. Sure they aren't anything to write home about, but it's far more than this 40$ "premium title" ever gives.

And you're telling me this multi million dollar company, backed by 2 multi billion dollar companies is incapable of adding a simple Super Destroyer upgrade? Or new stratagems for Reqs? Sure thing bud.

When was the last time Narrowhead added something free for us to unlock? Oh right the Bastion, which most people got without grinding because we are always full on resources BECAUSE WE HAVE NOWHERE TO SPEND THEM BUT THE DSS.

I am genuinely sick of hearing "it's on our radar" and "we are looking into it".

It feels that AH absolutely forgot that this game isn't actually free to play

Seriously, so much gameplay stuff has been locked behind the SC paywall, it's fucking crazy how the community is letting them get away with it. Some of this stuff wouldn't go well in a F2P game, and H2 is a 40$ game!

Outside of warbonds, which are already a problem, we have super store items.

At the start it was a couple of armors (oh, remember when we asked for transmog and they gave some bs reason?)

Then strategems.

Then a melee weapon.

Then a sidearm.

Then the primaries and other Killzone colab.

Then, a shotgun (one of the best one as well) and then another one (both arguably 2 best shotguns in the gamw)

Then grenade.

And recent couple of months the best armors released are the super store items.

It wouldn't be an issue if we didn't get average super credits at about 20 an hour from normal gameplay, but this is absurd...

Edit: For the guys saying "you can farm sc" and "20 an hour is not true", that is the average of normal gameplay. So, for normal gameplay, you need to play for 50 hours for one warbond (very pride and acomplishement from them, eh?).

Specifically farming for SC makes that into about 200-250 SC per hour, but that is the most mindnumbing slop gameplay imaginable.

Core elements of the game shouldn’t be locked behind a paywall

I’m excited for the warbond and all but why are the mechs behind a paywall? If we don’t want these type of stuff to keep happenin, first no more stratagems in MOs and instead in a warbond, then primaries and secondaries only available in store and now mechs only available by warbond, also, mech customization is practically going to the thrash

Hawk-1 Concept

We got Eagle-1 and Pelican 1 but now its time to introduce Hawk-1. Hawk-1 will essentially be an AC-130 in the Helldivers universe.

Hawk 1 comes equipped with

2 Automated Spears 1 Port and 1 Starboard (10 Missiles each side)

2 Maxiguns 1 Port and 1 Starboard (1500 Rounds each side)

1 30mm Auto-cannon on forward nose (150 Rounds)

Hawk-1 will be a stratagem with 1 charge designed to help breakthrough a tough OBJ like mega nests or help a squad going thru constant cycles of reinforcements gain a footing

Hawk-1 will take 30 seconds to travel to the helldivers position as its obviously too big to dock at the destroyer so it must have a longer travel time. once it arrives it will fly around in a circle around the original beacon placement and rain down an unfiltered level of democratic justice for approximately 90 seconds or until all ammo reserves are depleted

To make this balanced i dont think this should be a regular stratagem but rather a sample donation threshold while in the loadout screen to be activated for the match. Once activated it is a 1 time call in for the whole squad. Only host will have access to the call in code and placement of Hawk-1

Just make the game F2P at this point

As much as ive wanted a mech warbond what the fuck is this, no mech resupply or repair tool, and from what ik the passive has NO relation to Mechs. War thunder deadass has better content at this point for free players, we dont even get as much free content gameplay wise anymore.

The last MU gave us two and a half new enemies for a highly anticipated sub faction from the first game, the first game you could take so much inspiration from. actually diabolical

Paid content vs Free content

We have far reached the life of the game where paid content has overtaken free content, and now finally, vehicles have been put into warbonds too, I feel as though this has gone too far and we are being milked dry,
Being able to farm sc is not an excuse as it is a paid game itself, yet this is being treated and defended like a free to play game,
I spent the past hour scraping the wiki to gather some information regarding how much paid content there is as of today.

Using https://helldivers.wiki.gg/ as a source, here is all of my findings regarding paid content vs free content updated to involve this new warbond.

I will not be including purely cosmetic content in this, only game play influencing content.

STRATAGEMS:

17 free support weapons

16 paid support weapons

12 free orbital strikes

0 paid orbital strikes

7 free eagle strikes

0 paid eagle strikes

7 free emplacements

1 paid emplacement

7 free sentries

3 paid sentries

6 free backpacks

7 paid backpacks

4 free vehicles

2 paid vehicles

TOTAL STRATAGEMS:

60 free stratagems

29 paid stratagems

WEAPONS:

2 free assault rifles

10 paid assault rifles

2 free marksman rifles

4 paid marksman rifles

1 super citizen edition sub machine gun - MP98 Knight

1 free sub machine gun

6 paid sub machine gun

4 free shotguns

6 paid shotguns

0 free explosive weapons

2 paid explosive weapons

2 free energy weapons

7 paid energy weapons

0 free special weapons

3 paid special weapons

2 free pistols

6 paid pistols

0 free melee weapons

6 paid melee weapons

0 free special secondaries

9 paid special secondaries

2 free standard throwables

3 paid standard throwables

2 free special throwables

13 paid special throwables

TOTAL WEAPONS:

17 free weapons

76 paid weapons

BOOSTERS:

6 free boosters

12 paid boosters

Now onto armour passives, this one is hard, this will not be including free armour given away for previous events, this will be purely from a new player starting point.

I am not counting multiple armour sets in the same type having the same paid passive as multiple paid passives, they will count as 1,

I am counting duplicate paid passives "between armour types", as multiples considering you are locked out of using a specific play style,

I feel like this is the best way to count it, if Light, Medium and Heavy all have Siege Ready as paid passives only, I will count that altogether as 3 paid passives.

ARMOUR PASSIVES:

1 free light armour passive - scout

21 paid light armour passives

7 free medium armour passives - Extra padding, Democracy protects, med-kit, scout, Engineering kit

21 paid medium armour passives

1 free heavy armour passive - Fortified

16 paid heavy armour passives

TOTAL ARMOUR PASSIVES:

9 free armour passives

58 paid armour passives

---------

TOTAL CONTENT:

92 free pieces of game play influencing content

175 paid pieces of game play influencing content

Substantial, high-requested in-game content is once again locked behind a paywall.

They’re locking MECHS behind the warbonds now. This is absolutely insane. I’ve been adamant since Chemical Agents that stratagems SHOULD never be sold in warbonds. That slippery slope has lead to this, the culmination of an effort to force the player base to pay with their time and money for what they asked for.

Still a $40 game, btw.

I am actually really excited for this new warbond

After waiting like a month and a half I am actually very much surprised how fun everything looks, Im only really iffy on that 1000 shots gun but the missile pistol actually looks so cool

Behold the dumbest Stratagem I could come up with: The Mobile Missile

So first off: Normally I like to keep it to one suggestion post a day tops since I'm not a big fan of flooding subs. Problem is, I have more than a week's worth of concepts built up, so you get a double feature today.

With that being said, let me introduce to you The Mobile Missile!

This is remarkably straightforward. It's a singular Spear Rocket mounted to a backpack instead of a Support weapon. Pressing the backpack button once will set the missile to arm-mode, where you will get the lock-on HUD. Pressing the backpack button again when a valid target has been locked onto will launch the missile! This can have 1 missile loaded at a time, but resupplying will give you a new missile (I'm not sure about normal ammo pickups, but they alternatively could provide the missile as well).

Yes, if you're a fan of it, it's Boba Fett's missile backpack. The idea is too tantalizing to pass up.

As always, I'd love to hear your feedback!

Helldivers What are you doing if tomorrow is just a Warbond trailer with no actual update?

Hey Divers,

Real talk. What's your plan if tomorrow we only get another Warbond trailer and nothing else drops?

Honestly? I'm probably not touching the game for the next two weeks or until something meaningful actually lands. The game feels completely stale right now and I'm not the only one burning out.

Here's the part that actually frustrates me the most. This was supposed to be an April release. If it hits on the 28th we get literally three days of "April content." That's not an April update. That's a late April patch being stretched to cover both April and May. It feels like a deliberate scheduling move so they can say "we dropped big content that carried two months" for their metrics or quarterly reports or whatever they're chasing. Great for the company on paper. Terrible for player retention in reality.

We already paid full price for the game and a decent chunk of the playerbase keeps paying extra for Warbonds. In return we're getting the slowest content cadence of any major live-service shooter right now. Fortnite and Marvel Rivals are completely free and still manage to drop new modes, maps, events, and balance patches way more frequently. Helldivers 2 charges upfront and has paid battle-pass-style content so why are we being treated to a slower drip than the free games?

The devs painted themselves into this corner. Warbonds are basically the only new content pipeline now. Everything else is just another Major Order telling us to go shoot Automatons or Illuminates again with zero story payoff, no lore expansion, no Exospire or void progression, nothing that makes the galaxy feel alive or evolving. It's the same loop we've been running for months.

And before the "defend the devs at all costs" crowd shows up, this isn't about hating Arrowhead. They're still going to print money whether we complain or not. But as paying customers who love the game we're allowed to say the live-service model they chose is currently failing the playerbase. Consistent content isn't a luxury. It's the bare minimum for a game that expects us to keep coming back.

(Hot Take/Vent) Warbonds don't make the game better, and I'm tried of people who say otherwise

I'm throwing out a hot take/vent because I'm tired of people who say warbonds make the game better, warbonds do not make the game better, and I'm tried of people who say otherwise

When was the last time we got anything that was outside of a warbond or a title update? Something that actually improved the fucking game for players (like me), who are just not even interested in warbonds anymore

Like I don't know..
- a new assault stratagem
- new ship mods
- weapon customization is dead in the water
- armor customization is dead in the water
- the galactic war story is more inconsistent then my friend with bi-polar

I'm playing other games right now because I just don't fucking care anymore... and this comes from someone who has been here since launch, I'm slowly drifting away from this game because Arrowhead has not done anything interesting since Cyberstan. And mind you even that update was unfinished, rushed and lazy

So yeah.. that's all I got

Well it’s been weird since cyberstan about how arrowhead has been managing updates, it just feels.. too quiet, AH drops an update and just stay silent for a month, absolutely quiet, what if they are working on a game?

New Sentry Proposal: Airburst Mortar Sentry

All the LARPing that I normally do at the beginning of these posts aside, let me get something out of the way. Yes, I know this thing would be the Teamkiller 80,000. Yes, I know it wouldn't be for everyone. Yes. I still want it.

To make it clear, this wouldn't be like the Airburst Rocket Launcher. Functionally this would basically be a mortar-shotgun, firing a significantly smaller version of the Orbital Airburst Strike. This would go up like a normal shot, and airburst a set distance from the ground, carpeting the area it hit in chip damage!

As always, I'd love to hear your feedback!
