I shared a post earlier but it was deleted idk why.

But I have no practical experience in bat surveys and my comapany is looking to do some bat surveys (gold mining).

I think i'll be ok on the mist netting aspect. IDing may be difficult.

But I'm more concenred about the acoustic monitioring. Whats the best recorder and software? Are there any datasets with bat calls from Guyana (I'll take South America if available)? Are there any books that may help with ID? Is there anything I should know or do before starting?

Have you ever eaten this?

I have, in cutters. It tasted quite porky to me not a fan.

There's a family of about 20 that comes around almost daily.

The closed season for hunting in Guyana is May 1st to November 30th. Any breach results in a fine of 750,000 - 2,000,000 and a 3 year jail sentence.
