r/GroceryOutlet

I love Grocery Outlet and go there all the time and typically when stuff is either really close to expiration or has just expired it'll be dirt cheap. Which is pretty cool because then you can get something for much less than you would normally get it for and just use it right away. However the last few times I've gone there I've noticed that they've had stuff that is either about to expire or expired and it's still pretty much full price. I just went to buy some Welch's fruit gummies that expired mid April, so about 3 weeks ago and they were still trying to sell them for $4.99. It's really strange because typically these would be marked down heavily. Has anyone else noticed this?
Trying Bonne Maman Cherry Pie Filling in my Overnight Oats
My store is out of all the Bonne Maman goodies but I finally opened this jar. It’s really good too. Tastes much more natural than the other cans, which I love. Can’t wait for breakfast tomorrow and using this for some other things. May bake a little torte with the rest.
I layered Greek yogurt and sliced bananas on top of the oats and almond milk. Topped with a big spoonful of the cherries.
Has anyone tried this Isopure protein water? It’s only $3.99 so I got 2 boxes for a friend & family. I haven’t tried it yet but it seemed like a good deal.
SF Bayshore Sunnydale over the weekend
Just a few deals over the weekend
33.8 fluid oz bottles
Arrowhead Berry flavored Sparkling water found at GO South Sacramento.
Pleasant Hill/NorCal - Churu 4/$0.99
This is the cheapest I've seen these treats outside of specials/sales with 20% off packs, etc. If you have a cat or want to donate to a shelter, this is a great buy. This stuff is like Kitty Crack™️ and will help you win over a feral cat or get your kitty with no appetite to eat.
I bought a ton and will be distributing them to the various shelters around me.
My local store is getting more and more sparse in its choices, and I don't see any new finds that used to be part of the sense of discovery at the store. The ice cream freezer is mostly empty, and what's there is boring and nothing anyone wants. I'm debating whether to go to LIDL instead. I'm frustrated since GO used to have everything I needed, and outside of fruits and vegetables, I'm not thrilled with LIDL.
Oakland, CA (broadway)
So-so deal at $4.99, but I'm a sucker for trying different chili crisps and I've not seen these anywhere else. They're a product of Thailand, which seemed like a good sign.
These are good! I've only tasted the mild so far and they're are definitely on the "thai hot" scale and not the "white people hot" scale. Mild has much more heat than Lao Gan Ma, but the texture is very similar. The flavor is definitely what I would imagine and hope that a Mexican chili crisp would taste like.
Charcuterie is a food group for me so I got a few things
Was out of crackers and salami so I went to GO!
Gallo Charcuterie Trio $2.99
Butterkasse Cheese $3.49
Ritz $1.99
Ranch Goldfish .99
Honey Mustard Pretzel Goldfish $1.47
Also got 64oz. Silk Almond Milk for $1.49
I haven't found much the last few times I was in, but today I found a lot of good deals! I'm posting pics of my favorites.
The lion's mane mushrooms at 15.99 a lb - that's an average price, but I was excited to find a local retailer selling them in bulk like that. I bought a couple big chunks and it cost me $2.50.
This is, cost-wise, around Jeni's and Van Leeuwen at the regular grocery store. Uses A2 dairy for those with digestion issues for regular.
Tried Meyer lemon cookie, honey blueberries lavender, and banana date. Would've liked more oomph from the lemon, the banana date was intensely flavored, and the honey lavender blueberries hit just the right amount of lavender to compliment but not taste like eating flowers. All good, lavender is my favorite so far.
Posted some skincare deals. Any of these good?
I came home with 6 pounds and made pot roast out of one; rest went in the/freezer! It was $20 a pound at Safeway.
Stocked up on jerky for a long time + some other deals
Love the mango jalapeño jerky, great deal on jerky bites, 6lbs of crinkle fries & an oven ready 12lb turkey. Anyone ever try the turkey? Curious how cooking a turkey straight from frozen turns out.
I was hesitant because I don't like nutella. This isn't quite as sweet. Definitely worth the price
