For professional designers, how did you start your career?

How did you start your career as a graphic designer? What ways did you use to find clients? I've been struggling lately to apply because most of the job postings require an experience. Some would explicitly say NO BEGINNERS. So, how did you land your first client? What was your position or niche?

What should I prepare for my first graphic design interview?

I’m attending my first graphic design interview as a fresher. What should I do to prepare properly and what do interviewers usually expect from beginners?

Also:

  • What questions are commonly asked?
  • How should I present my portfolio?
  • What mistakes should I avoid during the interview?

Would appreciate honest advice from designers or recruiters.

To filo ahensya graphic designers, does it get better?

Hi, seeking advice as a newbiew in the field.

Is it normal to feel very anxious about my design work?

Like, tuwing may project ako I always have negative thoughts na hindi ko na m-meet ang expectations and standards ng company and client.

I'm new in the industry and these thoughts are really taking a toll on me.

Really appreciate your replies on how to combat this...thank you!

Hey everyone,

I’m opening a turf soon and need help with two posters:

1.Coming Soon Poster – clean, hype‑style, teasing the launch.

2.General turf poster – fun, bright, showing what the turf can be used for (parties, sports, events, etc.).

This is an unpaid, one‑time project – basically a small favor to help me get started.

If you do a good job, you can definitely use it in your portfolio, and I’ll happily give you references.

If you’re a student, beginner, or just someone who wants something quick for your portfolio, DM me with:

Your rough idea for the style

Thanks a lot in advance!🍧🚀

Hi! Hingi lang sana ako ng advice from fellow designers here. I’m currently a junior graphic artist sa isang small company. Hindi design-related yung course ko, so I feel really lucky na napunta ako sa ganitong work. Pero lately, parang nafefeel ko na stuck na ako and medyo burned out.

Yung designs ko kasi most of the time repetitive na, and parang wala na akong masyadong growth. Also, madalas nao-override yung work ko or hindi ako nabibigyan ng freedom to explore ideas. May sariling vision yung management and sinusunod ko naman, pero minsan feeling ko medyo outdated na yung direction 😅

Another thing is pinapagawa din ako ng video editing, which I honestly don’t enjoy at all. Ginagawa ko naman since part daw ng role, pero every time na may video task, sobrang nakaka-drain siya for me.

Before I decide kung lilipat ba ako or magstay muna, I just want to ask:

• Anong skills yung dapat kong i-focus para mag-grow talaga as a designer?

• Normal lang ba ‘to for junior designers, or sign na ba ‘to to look for a better environment?

• Paano niyo hinahandle yung situation na limited yung creative input niyo?

• What does “growth” or “peak” look like in this career?

• Worth it ba mag-freelance sa ganitong stage? Or mas okay mag-build muna ng experience sa company?

Gusto ko talaga mag-improve and mag-stay sa design career, di ko lang alam kung nasa tamang environment ba ako or need ko lang mas ma-push pa.

Any advice or real talk is appreciated. Thank you!

Hiring a graphic designer experienced with branding and architecture.

We're a soft serve company that will be rebranding here in Davao, so Davao will be preferred. And those with good branding portfolios and brand kits. And those who work well with architects with their design process.

Project based first for the actual logo and brand kit and then we need designs for our social media campaigns.

Please DO NOT send me a DM. I'm too busy as moderator of another sub.
Please send an email with your portfolio to kremeseryesoftserve@gmail.com
Please be in Davao so we can talk over free ice cream soon. Thank you!
