I finally unsubscribed to grammarly

I'm finally done with grammarly. Before the update, you could just look at the suggestions and decide what to fix. Now there’s this huge AI feature built into everything, and honestly, it makes the whole thing frustrating to use. Sometimes I just want to check a sentence's grammar, but the interface keeps pushing rewrites instead.

Another really annoying problem is that it doesn’t work consistently across websites. It works in Word, for example, but then it won’t show up in Pages at all for me. Sometimes, if you’re writing directly on a website, it just completely disappears and becomes unusable.

I’ve put up with that for a long time because I started using Grammarly back when I was a student, and it genuinely helped a lot, but great heavens, I am done with it. It used to have such considerate customer support. I remember being a broke college student with my card overdrawn, and the customer support even refunded it. Now it's difficult to even find the unsubscribe button. I've always only had such positive things to say about this product, but not anymore. Goodbye Grammarly.

Grammarly charged me ₹11,800(INR) for annual renewal on April 22. I contacted support regarding refund/cancellation today, but now I’m seeing another ₹11,800 charge from them through my Bank card.

Has anyone faced same issue with Grammarly before?I hv already contacted support and am now speaking with bank too for dispute/blocking recurring payments.

I am a student and my parents know nothing abt this. I m gonna be grounded if my dad get to know this.Any advice on getting this resolved asap???

I didn’t see my specific issue below when I searched so I wanted to make my own post for some answers (hopefully!).

My AI detection score in Grammarly is always 0%, even when I directly paste something from ChatGPT or perplexity.

As I’m getting into the home stretch of my dissertation (which I am writing myself), I’m trying to use AI to help me with outline and organizing my thoughts.

Does Grammarly really fail at detecting AI text?

No, this is not a troll post, but an honest question.

Situation: I write everything out. I like writing, and I'm always trying to improve. I do use Grammarly to help, mainly as a final review, and I do click accept to some suggestions. I've noticed that even doing this (minor changes) still flags my copy in Google Docs as AI-generated. Which brings me to my original question:

Is Grammarly safe to use, or is it just going to get everything I run through it flagged?
