Hot take: Serenate
I wish they were endgame. They had my favorite kind of chemistry, if I knew they weren’t endgame I don’t think I would have finished the show. What do you guys think?

I mean the show had a lot of hot moments but I still clearly remember how I felt watching that scene. For me it’s Chuck and Blair in s1 ep10 when they’re making out on the bed and trying to keep it a secret it just felt messy and real and I actually got butterflies. So yeah for me their chemistry officially starts there and then Dorota going “Miss Blair, Mr. Nate is here” just made the whole moment even more intense lol
Which scene really showed the chemistry for you?? Any couple any scene
Drive me crazy. They need to go.
Ugh the whole show I just couldn’t. I don’t know why, but the way she says Chuck just gives me the biggest ick. Once I noticed this I was annoyed the whole show. ChuCK. Maybe I am just crazy and it is just a me problem but I needed to share this thought lol
Listen. I've started GG 2 weeks ago and I m already half past season 3 and JESUS CHRIST with EVERY EPISODE I hate Dan even more because I've watched the You series first. I can t see Dan just as Dan, I also see him as Joe Goldberg which makes it even worse since I hate Joe and I hate Dan; double the hate. I don t even know how I ll be able to finish GG in this situation, I feel so annoyed when he's on screen. How is thtat he's so "charming" and gets every F'ING WOMAN??? Just like in You, he's this special person, "unique" personality, man of your dreams. HUUUH?!?!? I read that he becomes even WORSE? Feel free to spoil if you want to! I prefer not to be shooked when I see how trash he s about to become. Anyway, don't watch You first.
Why is she sat higher than Blair?
Obviously both of them were mean girls in their own ways but I’ve never seen anyone discuss which one was worse soo.. feel free to explain which one you think is more mean in the comments :3
What are the overarching plot lines and love stories you would rewrite?
I would make Dan and Vanessa genuine platonic friends. Preserve at least one platonic hetero M-F friendship in the show!
I would also make Dan and Blair the real deal that end up together, with both of them growing together in ambition and intellect. This is the main storyline I always wish I could see play out!
I’d also make Serena and Carter Baizen end up together. Even though he was dating Leighton at the time, I think they had the best chemistry of anyone she ever dated. Most of her pairings have zero chemistry.
Blair and Chuck of course have great chemistry but I think I’d have Chuck have a major downfall and ostracize himself from the group, and remain an eternal bachelor.
What rewrite would you do?
Yes i know she is the antagonist of the show. But she is just annoying. She isnt written as a good antagonist she basicly is a parody. The show is so much better as soon as she isnt in the show. Every single storyline with her is just cartoonishly stupid.
Her storyline in season 1 was like kinda interesting but already over the top stupid. Her making Dan care for her child by saying its his is the single worst thing anyone has done in the entire show. And the entire storyline with her in season 5 is completly ludacris and just annoying. Season 5 is just in general the worst one I have seen so far.
Georgina just feels really irritating.
lowkey feel like the best thing about Gossip Girl was how they always showed up for each other no matter how messy things got, like the loyalty was real. agree or nah?
also one moment for the prettiest cast 🤏🏼
What starts as a calm, almost innocent moment turns into subtle humor wrapped in truth. When Blair says she confessed everything, it sounds pure and relieving, but Chuck cuts in with that dry, effortless line that exposes the weight behind it; the joke lands because it’s real, people carry more than they admit, and sometimes even a simple “I told everything” quietly holds years of chaos, mistakes, and growth, making the moment both funny and uncomfortably honest at the same time.
So I'm on my nthhh rewatch, in my 30s, seeing things differently now.
Vanessa acts like she's so much better than everyone else, And in my opinion she should be because she was raised better than the rest of them, but she acts just as bad. She still engages in their drama and creates takedowns for her own gain. She's teamed up with Chuck, Georgina, Juliet. Practically every antagonist on the show.
I saw an Instagram video yesterday that said Justice for Vanessa. And it really just pissed me off. If anyone deserves justice on the show it's Rufus 😭
His ex wife leaving him, Lily's constant inconsistencies in their relationship, plus other people constantly using him to get to her. He's had to let go of things he loves (like a "normal" Halloween) and Lily could not give a shit. He deserved better than her.
The other six main characters deserve each other though lol.
Studying Jared Kushner in class and all I can think about is this. Hahahaha.
Side note: I hate this man. lol
it's my humble opinion
I honestly think Serena is the definition of a hopeless romantic, to her own detriment. From Season 2 to Season 4, she doesn’t just fall in love… she throws herself into it the moment a man shows her attention.
And that’s exactly where things go wrong. She confuses intensity with depth, and attention with sincerity. The second someone gives her attention, she’s emotionally invested, without stopping to question who they really are or what they actually want from her.
What’s worse is that so many of these men take advantage of that. It’s not just bad luck, it’s a pattern of her being drawn to people who are, at best, self serving and, at worst, outright manipulative. Time and again, she’s taken for a ride by men who don’t deserve the kind of trust she gives so freely.
Just look at the lineup: Gabriel Edwards,Carter Baizen, Tripp van der Bilt, Colin Forrester, Ben Donovan
A lot of them aren’t just “wrong” for her, they actively mislead her, use her, or hide crucial truths. And yet, she walks into each relationship believing it’s different this time.
That’s what makes it so frustrating. She’s not calculating or manipulative, if anything, she’s too genuine. But that sincerity, combined with her impulsiveness, makes her an easy target for the wrong kind of people.
At some point, it stops feeling like unfortunate circumstances and starts looking like a cycle she keeps repeating, one where she falls fast, trusts blindly, and ends up hurt by men who never had her best interests at heart.
