Question about this Flood Map
A family member is looking at buying a property in Tallebudgera. I'm doing some research for them and this flood map seems highly concerning. What am I missing? Why are there so many houses built here?

I’ve noticed a lot of the apartments are still being advertised for sale, but the building itself looks mostly unoccupied.
Given how prime the location is, I would’ve thought there’d be strong demand for ultra-luxury beachfront apartments like these.
Are they just priced too high, or being held as investments/holiday places? Curious what’s actually going on.
You're lucky nobody died. Fucking idiot.
That is all.
I do choose to live in burleigh yes, I do love it here but god damn those road works are extremely loud seemingly all through the night outside my stretch of road. I struggle to sleep most nights.
its come to my attention a neighbour one street over gets “love your local” cards every single week in their post box with 50$ voucher to a few local busnesses. Not to be a downer but what the fuck! lol. I have been living on this road for a whole year, put up with this noise for the entire time and not once have I seen a this in my letterbox. I’ve known this for a few months now and I check every day and nothing! They don’t even hear the road works from their house! I don’t want to sound ungrateful, has anyone else gotten one of these ? Why would they be missing my property if i’m directly affected most nights of the week?
I’m writing this currently not being able to sleep as they’re seemingly dragging metal shit across the road outside and I’m researching for the best ear plugs 😩
Hey dear people of Gold Coast! Quick question, I received a parking fine($166) dollars, for parking on a grass opposite Sea World Resort. Stupid mistake, herd mentality, many other cars were parked there as the resort car park was full. However, I have looked around, drove up and down the road, and there were no signs or any indication that I can’t park there. Yellow line was good couple of meters behind. Should I appeal, or just admit a mistake and pay?
Hey all
I’m keen to get some new clothing/accessories from some local brands from Gold Coast or local surrounds. Any recommendations or brands on here for me and others to check out?
Cheers!
My partner needs a tissue biopsy as she has a small unidentified lump in her breast
Cheers
First time in Surfers in years and I was taking a stroll down Cavill Mall and got to the end and was surprised how revitalised it is. It's actually really nice. Making it car free is perfect.
Many years ago I posted on here that the whole area could make a good pedestrian only precinct.
Once I'm done with my work I'm going to go back and have a beer there.
does anyone know of any place in adelaide that may have sell these red plastic stools? have checked chinatown but couldnt find any

It would bring me great joy to put a name to the face of bonnet bogan who FAFO.

We took the family to the Australian Outback Spectacular in 2019 and we always said we would go again when the show changed. It appears that it is still the same show based on the drought and the bank foreclosing on the struggling farm. Do they ever change the show?
Does anyone here have experience of sitting the citizenship test or attending the interview? I have read the guide, listened to the podcast, & gone through the online practice questions; it looks like it's an absolute piece of piss, but want to make sure I'm fully prepared.
If anyone has sat the actual test, or gone through the interview, I'm interested to get your experience. Thanks all.
I was on the tram from Broadbeach to southport around 5:40 this afternoon . Everyone was lining up properly to get on, but one older woman completely ignored the queue and went straight to the front. Once on board, she stopped a young boy from sitting next to her and actually pushed him away, saying the seat was for her husband, even though he wasn’t even on the tram yet. The boy’s dad was understandably upset, but she doubled down and claimed that children should be standing anyway. Seriously, what kind of behaviour is that? I saw the whole thing and couldn’t believe how entitled she was acting. Pushing a child just to “reserve” a seat is not okay, this is public transport.
Honestly, shame on that woman and her husband.
Distances between cities are measured from a particular spot in each city, namely a GPO. Where is ‘point zero’, as it were, at Gold Coast?
This video shows a supposed road rage incident on the Gold Coast where an enraged woman held onto the bonnet of a car. The woman clearly falls off the car going at a high speed - did she survive? I’m a bit confused with the blonde driver laughing about speeding and braking and the angry woman falling off etc. Is this real?
A few years ago I found a good barber, somewhat near my work, opened until 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays so I could actually go when working 9-5.
6 months ago they cut the Saturday opening so only Mon-Friday. Still ok, I can just go after work as they're open until 6.
I looked recently and they've cut their weekday opening until 5pm now. So that means if you work 9-5, you now cannot go there. As I work until 5pm now I have to find sonewere else to go.
This is so common of many businesses on the Gold Coast. 9-5, Monday to Friday, sometimes weekends but for professional services if you work fulltime then good luck going to most businesses.
