Finally decided to go through with the purchase and get my first Glycine and most expensive watch (at the moment). Super happy with the size and feel. Sorry to my Seiko DressKX as it might get some less wrist time.

Loving my GL0421

Got a 36 combat sub in two tone, I didn't realize it was rose gold in the photos which initially disappointed me but after wearing it for just a little while the tone actually grew on me. It's not like that pinkish trendy rose gold, it is more of an elegant and classy tone without saying 'look at me', more of a vintage vibe which I am digging lately. These seem to be completely out of stock now, I'm not sure if it's because Glycine actually stopped manufacturing them and is just selling what is left of the stock? Curious if any other Glycine heads in here have two tone versions, I did notice a slight discoloration in one of the links so not sure about the quality of the plating but that seems to be an issue on almost any watch. What do you guys think about this one?

The Good:

• It looks at home with any outfit. I've worn this to outdoor BBQs and to a suit-and-tie event at an embassy. It's truly a GADA watch, especially on a metal or silicone bracelet.
• It keeps very accurate time. It's about 6 seconds fast a day, which is more than good enough for me.
• It pairs well with a ton of straps, but my favorite is this vintage-inspired rally strap, which I think leans into its aviation roots.
• It's extremely legible in all conditions
• It may be the most comfortable watch I own- it wears like a far smaller watch, and is only 11mm thick and curves beautifully around the wrist. It's far more versatile than you'd expect from a 43mm watch.
• The fit and finish is on par with watches costing ten times this much.
• Once an hour, the hands come together to form an airplane, which is just a very nifty little detail.

The bad:

• Glycine has switched to a standard Sellita SW330, which is pretty bland to look at with an un-adorned rotor. Understandable for a watch with a solid case back, but slightly disappointing nevertheless.
• The lume is mediocre and fades fairly quickly. I also wish the GMT hand was lumed, but sadly it's not.
• The cities listed on the GMT bezel are so small that they're hard to read, at least to my old-ass eyes. It's a cool feature, but I doubt I'll use it much, if ever.
• The standard metal bracelet it comes with is just okay. It's about Tissot-level quality and lacks any micro adjustments. I far prefer the leather and rubber straps I've had it on.

The ugly:

• There is none, this is a gorgeous watch.

The bottom line:

It's a very distinctive watch, which means it may not be for everyone. It leans hard into the vintage aviation heritage, especially on the right strap. However, it's been absolutely phenomenal and is an absolute steal for $600, which is what I paid for it. I own quite a few watches, including vintage Omegas, Tissots, and Longines, and this watch has been on my wrist far more than any of the rest. I'd be hard-pressed to think of another watch that offers even close to this level of quality for this price. Highly recommended.

Sub Ceramic

Watch came on a blue rubber band; I like the upgrade and understatement of a SS bracelet.
Just that little touch of gold is classy enough.

These are so slept on and I am okay with that. They feel and wear amazing. I feel lucky the colors I wanted in the exact sizes popped up at the same time! Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Accurate timepiece

Glad to have found this Glycine community on here. This was my first Glycine and I absolutely love it for work and every day kind of wear. Through rain or shine it runs strong. It has the older logo and I believe it’s a discontinued model. It’s a Glycine Airman 44mm auto GL293. I just purchased a combat sub 42mm auto GL0326 and can’t wait for it to come in.

I ask for permission from the members to make my first post in this sub. This is my first Glycine, the GL0074.

I bought it completely factory sealed, brand new, with all its original plastics, from a former employee and collector—essentially straight from the store. Manufactured in 2017, it’s almost like a small time capsule.

I’ve always found the Airman models beautiful.

I’m still trying to build a relationship with the 22x22 mesh bracelet. The build quality is superb; it has a strong presence and a lot of shine, though at times I find it a bit too wide and somewhat flashy.

I know most people prefer the blue dial, but this off-white pearlescent one has its own charm. It was an incredible find, especially since this model has been discontinued—I’m not sure for how long.

I sent the details to Glycine, and they confirmed it was manufactured in 2017. However, I still don’t know what’s inside—ETA or Sellita.
