Old men yaoi stays on Top
I hope you guys are seeing the vision :3 I pray this comes true tho, I saw some weirdos actually shipping Hirose and Otogiri (Student and Teacher 🥀) like we don't have the perfect match already

honestly, I kinda expected more from this new episode, but that's not to say I'm disappointed. I actually liked the way Nakamura was acting in the middle of this. As I'm writing this, I'm trying not to spoil it for those that haven't watched it yet. Basically they animated the "Ghost" chapter of the manga, so I was really excited for what they added/changed in this. You'll get me once you watch it ;) happy watching!
What do you guys think? Was it Hirose or the ghost holding Nakamura’s hand? 🤔
At first, I’m convinced it was Hirose, but the moment the teacher flashed them, I think Hirose let go and the ghost immediately swooped in And Nakamura didn’t even realize it was no longer Hirose holding his hand in the end💀

So, after episode 7, I must say that I am a big fan of whatever is going on between Aokiyama and Tamura. Their dynamic was hilarious, watching them basically fight over Nakamura made me wheeze and their bantering was amusing to say the least.
Obviously I do not support the idea that every woman who interacts with a man should be shipped with him but you know what? Even the few scenes we got were very good and I lowkey enjoy the potential ship between them.
They really hit so many tropes already:
Rivals to lovers
Opposites attract
Ragebaiter x ragebaited
Cool gf x nerd bf (Tamura is not exactly a "nerd" but you get what I mean)
Plus, we don't get the dynamic of the girl being the one to annoy the boy in a ship so often since it's usually the opposite, so this makes the ship more intriguing to me. Aokiyama looked so smug when she annoyed Tamura, I love her so much.
Maybe I'm the only one who indulged in this dynamic. Also, once again, I don't want to force this ship to anyone, I am aware of the fact that many people do not like shipping male and female characters together when they get the bare minimum compared to queer ships with more plausible dynamics. I just wanted to share my opinion. I'd like to see more of them in the next episodes, their interactions would be hectic to say the least!
Do you think Mukai is the best looking guy in Nakamura's class?
I mean, he's definitely something, and his eyes are striking.
What would happen if Hirose found the manga Kawamura drew or Nakamura’s “Top Secret” notebook?
The content in both these notebooks are pretty harmless, and given his response to the BL mishap from episode 2, I can’t help but wonder what Hirose’s reactions would be if he happened to find both or either one of them.
What do you think? Would he treat the situation casually, be flattered that Nakamura puts so much systematized thought into his friendship goals, and admire the manga, or would it scare him off entirely?
GUYS FR I JUST NOTICED ANOTHER THING!!!
Is it just me, or the cats of Nakamura/Hirose is reffering to each other? Nakamura's cat is similar to Hirose's hair, the same with Hirose's cat.....
(Also the Otogiri's cat has both colors mixed... Coincidence or refference?)
How do you think Nakamura and Hirose's married life would play out?
Im starting to wonder if i shall bring the "daily series" thing from Horimiya community to GNK — i wanna fr post daily Hirose stuff
He is so kind and cute too
Where is this from? I saw someone with this pic and I thought it was so pretty
What is Nakamura's haircut called?
He's cute. I love him.
Are you guys watching Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! in sub or dub?
Just curious, are you all gonna watch it subbed or dubbed?
Personally I always watch stuff in the original language with subtitles, so I’ll be watching this in Japanese too. I’m kinda sensitive to some English voice tones/accents because of misophonia, so dub can be hard for me sometimes 😭
Also asking because I’m planning to make my own BL animated series for YouTube someday, so I wanted to see what people usually prefer when it comes to language/voice acting.
And if anyone has advice on getting more used to dubs or dealing with voice sensitivity, I’d appreciate it!
I love Nakamura because he reminds me of my husband
This anime is one of the best things to happen to me in the year 2026, and it’s primarily because Nakamura reminds me of the person I love in some very unique ways.
As a preface, my husband has high functioning autism and we have both discussed in depth how Nakamura is very much neurodivergent coded. This is where we see the most similarities.
I plan on making a whole post analyzing Nakamura’s autistic coding and how it makes Hirose’s acceptance profoundly meaningful. But for now, I’ll keep things focused on the title.
To start off, a trait that my husband is somewhat self-conscious of is his chain reaction clumsiness, particularly in the kitchen. After being together for 10 years and married for 7, it’s normal to me and I don’t even notice it. But he told me for the first time last week that he envies my grace when I cook because he unintentionally makes every conceivable sound in the kitchen when he tries to be cool (or at the very least not make a bunch of noise). While his clumsiness is a point of embarrassment for him, my reaction is similar to Kawamura’s when she observed Nakamura’s awkward blend of earnestness and lack of athletic grace during gym class: “Nakamura is clearly trying his best. He’s so cool! 🥰”
Nakamura’s scripted and meticulously rehearsed speech in his mind is another charming trait that mirrors my husband perfectly. My husband works a position where he has to manage a team of people, and when there’s a new hire, he practices in his head how their initial conversation will go in the days or weeks leading up to their first day on the job. He said himself that it is near identical to Nakamura’s inner monologue in chapter 1, where he boldly proclaims that the conversations he and Hirose have had in his head the past months have been perfect (when it’s just a basic greeting), but freezes up when an unforeseen variable occurs. An example from the anime being Hirose dropping his eraser, and in my husband’s case, it’s when his “Hey there, I’m ___, how are you doing today?” is not reciprocated with “[Affirmative statement], how about you?” but rather a dead ended, monosyllabic “yeah” or “good”. That throws him off a little because in his mind, this person is going off script from how these interactions are supposed to proceed. He is deliberately asking questions that should lead to a nice back and forth conversation. It’s not a major setback for him, but it still is annoying. The anime hyperbolizes scripted speech in a very humorous way, and it’s the hook that makes me read/watch it again and again.
Lastly, a moment I’m especially fond of is the immediate opening sequence of episode 5, where Nakamura is his desk, seemingly in his own little world, joyously admiring his “Top Secret” notebook, containing his written friendship goals with Hirose in a systematized, sequential, clinical list.
My husband has several notebooks from the years, each page filled to the brim with lists, charts, mockup blueprints, game coding, character design sketches, relationship development, goal setting, introspective journaling, social processing, career expansion, and emotional analysis to name a few.
Just thinking about Nakamura with his Top Secret notebook makes me smile, because I almost always see my husband writing in his notebooks everyday.
There are more similarities I could expand on, but these are the most noteworthy.
I never imagined this series would become so special to me for these reasons, and I’m so happy that the most endearing traits of my husband that I love so much are depicted so vividly for all to enjoy.
Any deeper meaning with Nakamura being the only left-handed character?
I have a big soft spot for lefties, and noticing that he’s the only left handed character is just one more reason I love Nakamura. It’s not a fluke, it is a deliberate and consistent artistic choice that aligns with the manga.
What symbolism or meaning do you think is behind the artistic choice of having Nakamura be the only lefty? I can’t seem to find any interview of Syndei speaking about this.
(While going through the episodes I also noticed that while he isn’t fully left handed due to writing with his right hand, Otigiri has been shown using his left hand to operate a lighter when igniting his cigarette. Though this could be for a different reason.)
Nakamuras new haircut?
Honestly I hope we can see nakamuras new haircut on ep11 so that we can see it more on ep 12-13
