My first Galil 7.62x39

Shot it stock and instantly fell in love! Had her get worked on by adding a KNS Plastic Delete Kit, KNS Piston, ALG trigger, and a key micro brake. Glad I decided to save up for this instead of just buying an AK.

Can't choose between 7.62, 5.56, and .308. How can I pick?

I've been looking at galils recently, and was looking into purchasing one for myself. I have a few 5.56 and 7.62 guns, but no 308. I don't really have a preference between 762 and 556, and like I've said, I've never tried 308. Is there a big difference between the calibers, and is there any reason I should get it chambered in one caliber over the other depending on different uses? I plan on mainly going to the range just to shoot targets and to have a nice rifle I can modify a bit.

Did I overpay? Galil ARM built by M13

Was looking at a new pickup for Lethal Weapons this year, and came across this as I was scrolling through my local classifieds page.

What's the approx value of something like this? I really wanted a retro looking Galil to compliment my 2 Aces so I kinda snagged it as soon as the listing popped up without looking into it too deeply (not the smartest practice, but impulse won me over)

It's a Galil ARM built by M13 w/ the 6 magazines pictured, ALG trigger, KNS piston, and a PW brake. Paid 1600 for the package

Update on the $900 Galil

Added the B&T hand-guard with a magpul angled grip, master mount, rs regulate front biased mount, and long pic rail until my direct mount is in. Also modified this ak grip to fit and feel like I did a hell of a job making it look not bubbafied. Waiting on my thread adapter and asr muzzle device. Once I shoot it suppressed I’ll see if maybe it needs the KNS.

The gun shoots great, but the trigger slap is atrocious. Playing around with the idea of the alg for it since I don’t mind having to do some work to make it fit.

I hope I’m not beating a dead horse here as this issue seems fairly common. I just snagged a 5.56 gen 2 on Thursday. Immediately took it to the range. Ran a mag through unsupressed with zero issues. I attached a Stacy’s mom K can and had constant failure to feeds almost immediately, often having the bolt bend the round almost in half. I tried switching to a dead air Lazarus 6 (flow through) and had basically the same results.

I’m hoping the KNS piston will fix this as the gun is crazy overgassed even unsuppressed. Any insight on this? I’d really love to suppress this rifle full time

Galil Ace Gen 3 wish list

The second generation of the Galil Ace has received mixed reviews, with some people praising it and others criticizing it. If you were to design a third-generation Galil Ace, what features would you prioritize? I’ve listed my preferences below.

*Return of the tritium night sites in my opinion this was the biggest offense of the second generation

*Externally, adjustable gas piston very much need

*Thinner, slimmer, and lighter hand guard the second generation’s hand guard was a nice touch. Especially, since it is now free float, but it is a fat pig and needs to be lighter and slimmer

*Return of the lightning cuts on the receiver and other parts, looks cooler and ounces make pounds

*Return of the Gen 1 proprietary stock or at least one that has the look and feel of the original Gen 1 stock give it QD sling points IMO going for an AR tube stock was a huge mistake and it makes the Gun look ugly AF

*make all Models available in 8 inch 13 inch and 16 inch and make a 308 model with a 13 inch barrel instead of a 11.8 inch barrel

*Make a 300 blackout model with a 7-8 inch barrel and 1:5 twist

*Import the Galil ace sniper Variant

*ALG style trigger from the factory

First time owning a Galil and you weren't kidding with the heft these things carry. Just picked up the Liberty Precision Machine Duty 5.56 can from jail and looking forward to seeing how it runs.

What’s the difference? (Galil SAR vs Galil AR)

Hello, I have a newfound interest in Galils. This might be a newbie question for some of you Galil enthusiasts but bear with me please. What is the external and internal differences between the Galil SAR and the Galil AR?

Is it essentially just the barrel length?
