u/Old_Constant_5410

I've been looking at galils recently, and was looking into purchasing one for myself. I have a few 5.56 and 7.62 guns, but no 308. I don't really have a preference between 762 and 556, and like I've said, I've never tried 308. Is there a big difference between the calibers, and is there any reason I should get it chambered in one caliber over the other depending on different uses? I plan on mainly going to the range just to shoot targets and to have a nice rifle I can modify a bit.
