I tried seeing how much MPG I could get out of it, and the GX actually does much better on the highway than people expect.

23 GX Offroading with the 19" wheels

Wife has been itching to go Offroad. Haven't seen any posts of people puting A/Ts on the 19" sport wheels. Just lots of people saying not to and instead get a spare set of smaller wheels for Offroad tires. Deicided to put some 255/65/19 on it (around 32") and don't regret it. Did a couple yellow trails up in Big Bear over the weekend, video is on Smarts Ranch. No issues at all!

2016 w 300k Update and Info

Here’s my 300k 2016. Many thanks to this sub for helping me - in summary if anyone finds this helpful:

I’m the original owner - at 200k she got her lifts. At 260k I had transmission issues. After driving new Tacomas and Gx (and everything else) decided to systematically have transmission rebuilt. Never put a penny in her before but:
New solenoid valve box -2k
New transmission - 8.5k
Wheel bearings and tie rod needed replacement at 275k -4k

Biggest mistake was not doing regular drain and fill on tranny fluid earlier - especially when I started off roading.

This baby has been running like butter and glad I put in the money. Taking her to 500k. Shout out to the Nitto Ridge Grapplers - holy crap I’m getting great miles out of those tires.

2023 Lexus GX460 vs 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser LC250

Trying to decide between a 2023 Lexus GX460 and a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (LC250) and wanted real-world opinions from people who’ve owned/driven them.
About me:
6 ft tall

Mostly highway + daily driving

Occasional road trips/camping/light off-road

Planning to keep the vehicle long term (8–10+ years)

Reliability, comfort, resale value, and overall ownership experience matter most

What I like about the GX460:
Proven V8

Lexus comfort and ride quality

Old-school reliability

Feels like a future classic

What I like about the LC250:
New tech/interior

Better MPG

More torque

More modern platform/off-road capability

My biggest concern:
GX460 feels outdated but proven.
LC250 feels modern but first-year/new drivetrain concerns.
For those who’ve owned either (or both), which would you choose today and why?
Also:
Is the GX460 still worth buying in 2026?

Does the LC250 actually feel more refined day-to-day?

Any regrets from GX owners switching away from the V8?

Would love honest long-term ownership feedback.

The GX460 is coming together. Shocks from my 4runner bolted up no problem with the Fox Factory Race internal bypasses. Just had to modify the resi mount. Total Chaos upper and lower control arms. Rear links with Dr KDSS B.O.T.C.K - Bolt On TrackBar Correction Kit.

Most unexpected thing I’ve gotten for my GX460

Got my UCA kit today and in the box was a movie about Jesus 😄 Usually I expect some stickers or merch or something like that… Don’t get me wrong — I’m totally a fan of random extras like this lol

What do you guys think?

Shoes install

Just installed a complete set ordered from Tire Rack. Kmc Technics and Falken Wildpeak A/T4Ws on the wife’s GX!

Looks bad ass in person. It was not easy deciding what wheels and tire size to go with. But I couldn’t be happier with these. Fitment is perfect. Minor rubbing I need to look into. No lift.

Wheel specs are 17”x8.5”. Tires 255/80/r17 pizza cutters.

For sale 2013 Lexus gx 460 91k miles $21,000 south florida

I am selling my well maintained, and unfortunately never offroaded 2013 Lexus GX 460 with 91k miles. Overall, the truck is in pretty good shape. All the leathers have been replaced with real leather seats from Lseat.com. Door handles have been replaced. Minimal surface rust underneath. The hood paint has failed, but was wrapped. Looks good from a distance but up close you can see bump from where the pitting on the hood is. 90k mile service was completed at Palm beach motorwerks. All other services were done consistently and on time at my local Toyota dealership were my father worked. I have been the owner for the last 10 years and 65k miles. Feel free to ask any questions. Posting here before Autotrader. Figured this community would appreciate a sub hundred thousand mile example.

Fluid replacement Recommendations at Dealer

Hello, I was recommended to get a Front and rear case fluid replacement at my Lexus dealer, since I am at 76k miles. So I called a Toyota dealer closer to me and they said they would recommend Front, rear, AND transfer case fluid replacement. As well as transmission replacement. THen I asked if they would drain and fill or full flush. She said they would full flush, and only do drain and fill if I was at 150k miles or more.

Isn't that the opposite of what you're supposed to do? They're are charging $770 for all this by the way.

What do yall think about this tire/frame area? Would you trim it?

Pic of my recent lift and tire upgrade on my 17 GX. I already did a lot of plastic trimming, but this is the frame. What do yall think about this tire/frame area? Would you trim it? If so would you just use an angle grinder? TIA!
