Current State of Mobile

DEVICE: Redmagic Astra 12GB+256GB Version

Before the new UI update, I never had any frame drops at all, even while running at 144 FPS or 165 FPS. Ever since the UI was changed, my FPS has been dropping as low as 7 FPS just from switching weapons or modes. It’s also causing overheating, even while using a proper cooler. This never happened during the 5 months I’ve owned my Astra and only started after the UI update.

The new UI has also introduced the build bug, which still hasn’t even been properly fixed. It was marked as “Fixed in Live” on Trello and in the update notes, but the issue was still happening. After, it was changed back to “Investigating” on Trello for two days before being removed entirely.

If they don’t fix the build bug in the next update (14th May) then I doubt it will ever be fixed. They still haven’t properly optimised or resolved many of the major issues on mobile since release over two years ago. The current state of FNM is horrid, and once the mobile series is over, I genuinely think FNM will die.

Good bye with mobile

I tried so hard with all the updates to stick to playing mobile still, but the movement is just so damn slow I can not compete in Champion lobbies at all 😩.

Any time I get 3rd partied it’s just game over I don’t know what happened but the movement speed on mobile touch controls is just not manageable anymore.

Unfortunately I’ll be going back to having to play on controller on the switch 2 or Xbox series x now, I really wanted to hit unreal with mobile touch but I just cant compete.

Idk if it’s the device I’m using (7th gen iPad mini) and maybe I need another device but I don’t even know what to look at. Red magic Astra never restocked 😩.

Fortnite just put touch controls on switch 2 please. The tablet runs the game great, it’s a touch screen tablet that works on Home Screen of the game. Just give switch 2 the option please!!!

Time to lock in - v40.30 brings new Rivalry Ranks, more controls for Custom match hosts, and a batch of fixes and improvements. Read on for the full rundown:

⚔️ Keep Building Your Rivalry Streak and Unlock New Rewards

In today’s game update, new rewards have become available. You’ll be able to keep your existing Rivalry win count while chasing new Rivalry status alongside it:

🟣 Rivalry Master: Win 150 Rivalries
🔵 Rivalry Grandmaster: Win 500 Rivalries
🔴 Rivalry GOAT: Win 1,000 Rivalries

Keep stacking those Rivalry W’s! New mastery umbrella styles are coming in v40.40 to unlock after you hit Rivalry Master. 

⚙️ New Admin Panel Tool for Your Custom Lobbies

We’ve implemented several new Custom Matchmaking features to give Custom lobby hosts more control over their Battle Royale sessions.

With today’s update, Custom lobby hosts can access a new Admin Panel in non-competitive BR modes (including Zero Build) - only available to the player who starts the match. While in a match, open the Sidebar > Menu > Admin Panel to adjust the following:

  • Enable God Mode and become invulnerable as the admin/host
  • Set the Health and Shield values for everyone
  • Change the Time of Day and the speed at which it progresses (can be 0)
  • Pause and unpause the Storm
  • Change the Storm radius and how long it takes for the first circle to close in
  • Send troublemakers back to the Lobby

✅ Bug Fixes & Improvements

This update includes numerous bug fixes across Fortnite. Here are a few notable ones we’ve seen reported by the community that we’ve fixed up: 

General

  • Battle Pass rewards can now be claimed on the post-match screen after consecutive matches
  • Arcane Jinx’s braids are now the correct length
  • The 'Shade' Style of Ascendant Midas' Golden King's Cape no longer appears with missing textures
  • Back to the Future Time Machine engine and gear shift audio now play as expected
  • Nyanja’s eyes no longer appear overly bright
  • Navigation on the Passes tab now works correctly after exiting Bonus Rewards
  • Fixed a visual issue with the Lightyear Wings Back Bling not appearing correctly on all Outfits
  • Removed a visible seam on Lady Windfrost's left ear (pointed ear enjoyers stay winning)
  • Selecting the Battle Royale and Reload Ranked tiles on the Compete tab no longer redirects you to Unranked 
  • The Tournament Eligibility Check window now displays the required Rank more clearly when the requirement is not met
  • Fixed additional clipping, jittering and texture issues affecting Outfits and Kicks, such as:
    • Lover Girl Laufey’s hair clipping into her shoulder
    • Snoop Dogg’s undershirt clipping through his jacket
    • Jagged edges on the Nike Shox TL 'Red Strobe' Kicks

 

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue causing certain Car Bodies to appear or behave incorrectly. Previously disabled Car Bodies have been re-enabled
  • Back to the Future Time Machine engine and gear shift audio now play as expected
  • Port-A-Bunkers no longer spawn under the ground 🎉
  • You can aim, shoot and use consumable items at the bottom of an Ascender at New Sanctuary again
  • Fixed an issue where picking up a downed player mid-roll could sometimes teleport them under the terrain to a horrible, horrible end

PC

  • Improved memory efficiency, which may help increase stability
  • Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor could move to another monitor during gameplay after Alt-Tabbing in Fullscreen Mode
  • The Fortnite client window no longer incorrectly moves to the center of the screen when loading into Battle Royale matches

Mobile

  • Interacting with NPCs and purchasing from Vending Machines now takes fewer steps
    • Next time you interact with an NPC or a Vending Machine, take a look and let us know how it feels!
  • Turbo Building no longer stops when already holding another “Place” button
  • Aim Assist now applies correctly when Auto Fire is disabled, including certain weapons like Pump Shotguns 
  • Players on iOS are no longer incorrectly muted upon entering or returning to the game

Even on low graphics it was better than today's low graphics

So I tried old Fortnite using project era on mobile which people recommended to me as old fortnite was better and they didn't lie , the shading was amazing so even on low graphics it doesn't look ugly plus the high quality of textures , I wish epic do the same , thanks and share you thoughts on comments

Epic Makes Mobile Wait But Would Never Make PC/Console Wait

Epic has told Mobile that we must WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT UPDATE to fix just 1 of our issues.
For anyone that plays mobile you'll know that it is awful an awful experience at this moment.

*MOST IMPORTANT* - Mobile tournaments are rampant at the top with people emulating through a PC to play on KBM and have full aim assist.

- Our Turbo Build does not work as intended (this would be fixed in hours on PC/Console) and we're told we must wait until the next update to resolve this. That would literally never happen on PC/Console as we all know these issues are fixed promptly on other devices.

- Our performance has been awful this entire chapter. Some of us are on devices that are nearly on par with a PS5/XboxSX and are capable of 120fps at all times even in early skin cup end game, but when we edit it drops to 40 fps each time.
There are people who cannot purchase a flagship devices, so their experience is so much worst that it's crazy.

- The aim assist is too strong and too weak depending on the scenario. Within its 9-65m range you are getting beamed by us. Any closer and there is 0 aim assist whatsoever. Any further away and again it is nonexistent. Players that have even decent movement move far too quickly that it breaks the aim assist required LoS and you lose it. For example, running into an actual good ZB player is a nightmare as you're now relying on tracking them when you can't even do a 180 turn on 40% sensitivity (which is already too fast for casual screen turning) with your thumb range. So trying to track someone who even an average player sliding and jumping over you is just a joke.

It would be nice to see Epic care about the 5% of their player base that plays on mobile devices. It may not be much but it's still a portion of the player base they obviously desire to grow.

Did Epic improve Fortnite Mobile graphics recently?

Noticed some visual changes after recent updates on Android:

Better anti-aliasing options (ASR + TAA) Less jagged edges and cleaner image overall Improved indoor lighting Better skin materials and textures

Also noticed SSAO-related entries in logs before, plus new graphics-related changes.

Galaxy S24+ (Exynos). Anyone else seeing graphical upgrades or is this device specific

Physics on mobile

I used to have skin physics on my phone, as you can see the cape flaps around and all sorts. But today I don't seem to have it anymore, I haven't touched any settings whatsoever, is there a way to get this back?

Aim assist bugging out

Is anybody else’s aim assist doing this? This has happened so much times to me that it sorta feels normal now, but it’s such an annoying bug that was introduced when they added the new aim assist.

Following today’s update, the graphics quality on iPad Pro has been surprisingly improved, with the “hidden” addition of SAO environmental occlusion, which makes the game visually closer to the console version. I attach some screens of the visual rendering with the maximum settings, where it may be possible to notice these improvements.

I can throw a shockwave away! but can't drop it for vertical take off?

Is it a bug or feature in settings? I didn't find anything regarding this!
