Where is the Ford County Fluid Plug

Hello everyone,

I got a couple ford tractors inherited after the dead of my father and to be honest I am not well versed in tractors but I need to get them working in order to sell them.

My question is where the plug is to check the transmission fluid because I think there can only be three options.

  1. Check Plug under the left hand side under the clutch lever.

  2. Dip stick directly on the filling cap (mine does not have it)

  3. Maybe in the back somewhere if the fluid also is for the hydraulics because my steering also doesn’t seem to work quite well.

There is Oil in there but I suspect that it is to little and I don’t know if the hydraulics are separate and if so where the dipstick is for that.

As I looked at the engine there is no round cylinder for the steering fluid like on the other tractors have.

I would appreciate any help and I would love to learn.

Thanks 🙏

Ford Jubilee three point is not working (kinda)

When the three point lever is pulled all the way up it kinda lifts a little bit, but only when the draft control is pushed all the way down will it lift up. Any ideas how to fix this?

1955 Ford 650 Key Switch

Hello, I'm trying to rewire some bits on my 1955 Ford 650, and I'm having a hell of a time finding a diagram that shows how this key switch I have is wired. Does anyone know/have the diagram of how it's wired? Thanks in advance

Ford 4000 3 Cyl Diesel Oversize Pistons

Hi All.

I am looking at my Grandfathers Ford 4000. It has low compression and is burning oil so I have prepared it to remove the engine with a view to reconditioning it. My understanding is that these 4.4” bores were never intended to have oversize pistons. I would be grateful if anyone could offer some advice as to whether these engines are suitable to use oversize pistons in and whether they are available or not in the UK.

I work in engine reconditioning so the work is no trouble - even if oversize liners are required to get back to standard pistons. However, provided there is enough wall thickness I can’t see why a +0.010” or +0.020” set of pistons and rings shouldn’t do the job sensibly. Perhaps there is the chance of liner corrosion and the extra boring may uncover something undesirable. But of course I have never worked on one of these so this particular engine is all new to me. So I am keen to take in any information anyone may have.

Thankyou kindly in advance.

Ford 1900 Clutch

Went to use my 1900 after being stored (indoors) for the season. The clutch is hard and won’t allow me to push it down and shift into gear. Any ideas?
