I have a 2017 F150 with the 6.5 bed and a matching Leer Cap. I'm looking at a 2026 F150 and want to keep it. Will it fit well enough on the new version. I heard their was some changes to the tailgate size and the bed curvature is a little different.
Installed Carabc 12" Screen Mod and can recommend! Review from an average User.
Installed a 2021+ Style 12” Screen in my 2017 Raptor — My Honest Take After 2 Weeks
I know there are already a ton of posts/reviews on these screens, so I’ll keep this focused on my actual experience using it daily.
I installed the 12” 2021+ style screen (CarABC) in my 2017 Raptor, and overall I’m genuinely happy with it.
The biggest win is how OEM it looks. That was my main concern going in — I didn’t want something that looked like a slapped-in tablet. Once it’s installed, it honestly feels like it belongs there and just modernizes the interior.
Install-wise, it’s not *hard*, but it’s also not completely plug-and-play. There are a couple spots where you need to slow down (especially with the ribbon cable and getting everything seated right). I had a small hiccup during install, but between the instructions and some videos I was able to figure it out pretty quickly. If you take your time, you’ll be fine.
Performance has been solid so far. Since it works through the OEM APIM, everything feels normal — CarPlay, climate controls, responsiveness, etc. I haven’t noticed any lag or major issues after about two weeks of use.
I did have one moment where the screen stayed black, but after letting the truck fully power down (shut it off, get out, lock it), it came back on and has worked perfectly since. No recurring issues.
Only real downside in my experience is that some of the setup (like dialing in the splash screen exactly how you want it) can be a little finicky. Not a dealbreaker, just not perfectly polished.
Overall, if your goal is to update the interior without losing that factory feel, I think it’s a really solid upgrade. I’d buy it again, and I’m interested to see if they push any updates or improvements over time.
**Full transparency:** I did receive a discount on the unit in exchange for making an install video, but I’m not being paid to say anything specific. This is just my honest experience after using it.
Happy to answer any questions if anyone’s considering it.

Ford f150 radio wiring
So I bought this ford and the radio wasn’t hooked up so nothing to go off of. I couldn’t figure out what the connection was on the left side and finally fount out it is for the trucks built in amp. Apparently only some models had it but I can not find the wiring diagram anywhere and don’t want to have to run my own speaker wires. Any help would be much appreciated.
Electrical issues- 2000 f150 5.4
Got a 2000 f150 and recently have had total power loss. My intake manifold gasket is bad (new gasket on the way) and causes the truck to shut off when idling or at a stop but it cranks right up and drives fine. Recently a new issue popped up where truck dies and I lose all electrical power. This includes lights and everything almost like when battery is dead. Then after a couple minutes of panicking the power kicks in like if nothing happened. Battery and alternator are new and fuses are fine. What could be causing this issue???
Can somebody tell me how can I find this retro fit adapter to get in place some 18-20 halogen tail lights on a 15-17 halogen
2016 fuse 14 blows immediately after adding aftermarket amp
Apologies for wall 'o text, but I'm trying to make sure I include relevant details.
2016 Screw FX4 Lariat with the Sony sound system
I recently added a pair of kicker subs and an amp to my truck
I ran a 1/0 power wire from the battery to power the new amp, and grounded it to a seat bolt under the rear seat.
Initially, I tried to tap into pins 4, 8, 12 & 16 on the C3154B connector coming out of the factory Sony amp behind the rear driver side seat as a signal source. According to the Ford Service wiring diagram for my truck (I downloaded this straight from Ford, so I know it's applicable to my truck), these should be the wires for the rear door speakers. For whatever reason, I couldn't get a signal there.
When that didn't work, I instead removed the factory sub and tapped into its 4 speaker wires using posi-taps. I fed that into an LC2i line output converter, which in turn is connected to the sub amp with an RCA cable.
This setup worked great for about a week. The entire audio system suddenly stopped working while I was parked with the truck idling. I did have the volume up pretty high when everything stopped working.
Symptoms:
- No audio from system at all
- The touchscreen and all of its other functions still work normally
- Everything else in the truck works normally (as far as I can tell)
- The volume overlay that usually appears when you twist the knob to change the system volume is now totally missing (i.e. doesn't appear at all when twisting volume knob)
After some investigation, I found that fuse # 14 in the engine bay fuse box was blown. When I replaced it, the replacement fuse blew immediately.
I completely disconnected the aftermarket system and replaced the fuse again, still blew immediately.
Next, I disconnected all 3 of the connectors for the factory amp and tried replacing the fuse again, same result.
I inspected all of the factory wiring near the factory amp and everything looks OK, nothing looks damaged.
The fuse blowing immediately makes me think something is shorted to ground somewhere, but I'm not sure what it could be.
Any ideas / suggestions?
