[WTS] Sage Sonic 690-4 with Sage Spectrum C 5/6 Reel $475 (Updated Price as of 04.24.2026)

This thing can chuck the meats, run deep with heavy bead head nymphs, and still delicately place big dries at a distance. It has all the sensitivity that you want, with plenty of backbone to fight your next PB. This rig has seen plenty of time on the river, but is still in perfect shape.

I’m moving and need to thin out the collection. I’d rather see these rods go to a good home than sit in my storage unit for a couple of years.

I can deliver in the Portland/Vancouver area any time. If it needs to ship domestically, the buyer covers to first $30 and I’ll cover the rest for UPS “best way” shipping.

[WTS] Story & Request ...St. Croix DP 9100

STORY:

Years ago I contacted St. Croix to confirm if a fly rod I picked had a lifetime warranty.

I was connected to their museum curator - yep, they apparently have a museum!

I gave him the rod specs (at bottom) and then asked if it had any kind of warranty as I wanted to use it.

He replied, "You have no idea what you have there, do you?".

I said "No, ... but that's why I'm calling you".

We had a laugh, and he then told me that it deserved to be displayed in a place of honor and not to use it.

I then told him I'd be happy to ship it out to him to display in their museum. He said he'd love that but they already have six on display and adding another wouldn't be approved.

REQUEST:

I am now considering selling it, and I am trying to determine what to price it at - pictures are attached - any help is greatly appreciated.

CONDITION: Excellent

SPECS:

St. Croix Corporation Genuine "Double Power" Fiberglass Fly Rod 9100-8 1/2' Park Falls, Wisconsin

[Mod things]

Everyone,

Another update from your friendly Mod Team (it's just me, I'm the whole team).

Now that we've grown to over 1,500 visitors a week, we've become a target for scammers. I'm receiving about one message a week about people getting scammed here and I want you to know that I'm working hard to address this problem. Unfortunately, I have a full time job, I'm a husband and a father and I do my best to keep up with things.

What I've implemented today:
Automoderator to post a link to the universal scammer list in every post. Do your due diligence for buying and selling. It also posts best practices for using a reddit exchange in the same comment.

Flair is now mandatory on your posts - it's how the automod works and made creating the automod easier.

What I'm currently working on:
A feedback system that works automatically and updates user flair appropriately. It's a lot of coding (thanks Claude), and I'm having to learn a new skill to make this work. The one's I've seen work are very slick and give a lot of confidence when you see someone with many successful transactions.

Please give me any other ideas you may have for ways I can make the community better!

[WTB] Be on the lookout for scammers, including u/DayzPigeon and u/bwoykym

Hi All, just wanted to give a quick PSA to stay vigilant on this sub. I posted a [WTB] post the other day, and two separate scammers reached out. I was nearly scammed by u/DayzPigeon. Luckily, I checked the Universal Scammers List stickied at the top of the sub and then did a site-wide search of their username, which showed them as a scammer across a number of exchange-type subs.

Because my skepticism was raised, I was much less likely to fall for the second scammer, u/bwoykym, even though their approach was a little more sophisticated.

Both reached out to me via DM, and not in the comments of the post. u/DayzPigeon sent pictures that looked oddly familiar since I’ve been looking for a particular rod for a while now and am fairly familiar with what’s available on here, ebay, etc. None of the pictures included their username. When I asked for a new picture that included that to be safe, they sent one that initially looked convincing, but after running it though Google Gemini, I was able to confirm that it was a doctored photo because it contained a Google SynthID digital watermark.

u/bwoykym sent a series of photos via imgur that I didn't recognize. It was a slightly older model of the rod I was looking for, and they were upfront about it being well-used. Their photo did not register as AI generated or fake. The price was competitive, but realistic. However the Universal Scammers List again saved me, as well as reviewing their profile in detail. They had 12k karma, but only 21 total contributions site wide, which seemed suspicious. On top of that their linktr.ee link on their profile pointed towards someone in Kenya.

Just wanted to share this because the tools are there to save yourself from making a big mistake. I hadn’t see their names come up here before, but they’re all over other exchange subs.

Stay safe!
