Are you guys having issues?

I keep getting the *Error when generating. Please reload the page and try again!* I mainly use Oracle.

Edit: Also Chimera

FictionLab has a CSAM Problem

Context: This comment is on a PORN scenario. Not just a mature scenario (with heavy themes like violence or horror), it is on a PORN scenario where User fucks an 18 year old that looks like a child. And the creator has MANY similar scenarios, all 18 year olds (because that's the lowest that FL allows!), all looking like their ribs are popping out and their boobs just grew in.

And I... I guess I'm just tired. Because what the heck, man? FictionLab only has THREE no-nos:

  • No minors in 18+
  • No bestiality
  • No blood incest

Even on the FL Discord, ANY discussion about handling minor characters or minor-looking images IMMEDIATELY gets tons of resistance. From the same people sometimes!

Again, I'm not talking about even putting kids in mature settings like danger, violence, horror. I'm talking about literal child-looking characters genned for PORN.

It's just...

For those who aren't familiar with my work, I also use anime-style images. When I generate the images for my NSFW ones, I also get child-looking gens at a rate of maybe 30% because that's just how saturated the training data is. And you know what I do? Shocking concept... I DO NOT USE THE CHILD-LOOKING IMAGES FOR PORN.

How can a site that has awesome scenarios like Echoes of Lumendell and Dungeons & Dragons have devolved to this?

I'm tired, man.

Issues

I beg you fictionlab ! Please just upgrade and fix your ai modules ! I cant believe im paying for so much bugs and garbage nonesense.

Between the ai forgetting stuff after five messages or when it never respects the custom LLM instructions or when it instantly agrees with everything we say and takes everything litteraly. It's not rp anymore it's just talking to a normal ai assistant at this point.

Or when it's never creative and constantly repeats the same basic stuff. Or when it only describes and forgets to make the characters talk.

Or all the bug systems and Errors loading.

It's really sad because it is for me the best rp app there is. Please just take the time to fix the issues before adding new options.

Love u besties.

Oracle Issue

I’m having a problem with oracle right now that it’s creating a message but it’s just left at constantly generating.

Just wondering if it’s only me or a problem for others too so that I know if it’s something on my end or not, haha.

Thanks!

Oracle has a huge pacing problem

I can't for the love of God let my characters have a casual conversation that isn't plot related because Oracle immediately shuts it down. If the characters are walking from a place to another it forces the scene to an end by giving passive/dismissive answers and skipping straight to the destination, if the characters are static it attempts to introduce a "plot twist" to introduce tension, or simply jumps many hours ahead. I have a lot of custom scenario instructions telling the LLM to avoid transitional paragraphs and focus on the immediate action instead, to prioritize character interaction and dialogue over moving forward etc but it's no use, Oracle is obsessed with "The Plot™"

Memory Matrix

Hiya, just wanted to have a chat about the Memory Matrix update.

It's pretty god-awful. I don't know what in particular changed on the back-end, or how it works in-depth... but it's terrible. I can't even do a scenario chat for like a hundred messages before it gets stuck in loops, forgets stuff instantly, breaks perspective or makes a character a stereotype.

If anyone has any workarounds or fixes for it, that'd be cool to talk about. I just have been so utterly disappointed by the Memory stuff being so terrible that I'm kind of confused as to what to do. If anyone has any other experiences with the new Memory stuff they'd like to vent or rant or chat about, I'm all ears. Cheers, honeys.

Fictionlab+ advice

Heyhey! So I know that fictionlab has had some SERIOUS issues with the memory matrix update, but it seems that the issues have gotten a bit better (ty dev team we love you), but there are still a few issues I'm seeing here and there.

Before the big update, I wanted to try out FL+, but when the update hit (literal days before I was about to buy a subscription), well... I wasn't really eager to throw my money at the app.

Now that it's gotten a little better, should I wait a bit longer for things to fully bounce back, or is it worth buying the sub as someone who will only be able to pay for the sub for one (1) month?

Aka a broke bih

Anyone else get review bombs? My scenerios have had really good reviews and I got like 6 of my scenarios get bad reviews in 5 minutes. :( quite depressing. Not sure what i did to deserve that but I just was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar?

Edit: thank you all for the comments and replies. I am a male bot creator and didn't realize it was so bad with review bombing! This is very insightful. And it makes me feel better I'm not the only one. Support your male bot makers everyone! I wont let this discourage me from making scenarios for others to enjoy. :)

How do I make the AI talk as my character

This is a real backwards problem compared to most people using this site. I don’t know if it was an update to the models or something I did with my scenario but recently the Ai’s just refused to speak as my character in its responses. It mostly just chalks it up to my character staying silent.

Probably sounds like a blessing to most of yall but for me it’s kinda hard to come up with things to say on the fly. So just hitting continue and having the Ai think of something has been a lifesaver.

How it feels trying to make a scenario:

I transferred from c.ai and I'm sure this is infinitely better but that interface was a jumpscare

Problem

I went from praising this app highly not even days ago, as a one-year user of FictionLab+, to now feeling like it’s unusable. And I get that it’s a small team and not everything is gonna be 100%, but fuckkk… the bot is always talking on my behalf, or I’ll set the response to medium or even small and still end up getting a whole book’s worth of length. And don’t even get me started on the memory, man… wtf.

i saw the matrix update, and was so pumped i decided to try it and resubscribed (i have done it a couple of times in the past) but the new bot behavior is SO bad. like MUCH worse than half a year ago, even!

bots frequently make up stuff that never happened, forget and reset storylines from LESS THAN THREE MESSAGES AGO, will say nonsense like "mary checks the memory seed to see how she should behave", post entire [OOC: the following happens] type messages, randomly give me advice on how i should roleplay the scenario, including telling me my request doesn't match the character behavior (something like "Mary is about to do X, but then realizes she would never do that and does Y instead, or [OOC: this character would never do that]) and tons more stuff i dont care to list, including giving me general life advice and informing me that stealing is illegal when a character did it in a chat. (thanks for letting me know!)

sure, all this stuff occasionally happened, but now its so frequent it almost never DOESN'T happen. its like constant. if it doesn't happen for a few messages, i get my hopes up then BAM it's right back.

i am SO upset i spent money on a month of plus to encounter this garbage.

i genuinely feel all current plus subs should get a free month.

Best Way To Trigger Events

Most of my scenarios are open ended and I don’t mind that but I wanted to test out making events trigger.

With the new format would you suggest doing that with the Rules? Or Would you go with instructions?

If I decide to publish it I would prefer the events to be hidden which is why I want to do the Rules route but I’m not sure if it would work well. Cause I do want people to see the locations and characters etc but since I can’t hide instructions, I would have to kind of hide everything. Any suggestions? I would use a header to make sure they do.

New to Fictionlab, is it normal for characters to speak like a therapist?

Like…I sometimes feel like I’m speaking to chatgpt and not a “person.” The conversations don’t feel too natural. This is with both premade bots I’ve found and scenarios I made on my own.

It’s a lot of reassurances, repetitive phrases like “You know, sometimes I…” and affirmations.

For example:

“You know, sometimes it’s okay to let go. To let someone else shoulder the burden for a while. You don’t have to be strong all the time. It’s alright to have moments of weakness, to need support. That’s what friends are for. That’s what I’m here for.”

It’s…weirdly like therapist speak rather than natural dialogue every other message.

Thanks for any help or insight!

Edit: if it matters, ive tried both the default and ophelia model

As I'm sure you're all already aware, the new update has been... Not great, to put it nicely. The AI isn't remembering just about anything, repeating replies (some of them even word for word), and I'm sure that quite a few people have sent in complaints to the devs about it. However, within the span of literal hours, it feels like it's gotten worse.

Rather than just repeating replies, the AI has started completely disregarding the already-set scene for every other reply. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, does anyone have any fixes while we wait for another update to hopefully reverse this whole mess?

Hello everyone, I've been using FLB for a long time, I even got the premium version, but since a few updates, even the premium AI (Oracle, Chimera, and even Glendora) has become really bad. They're at the level of the old free AI from a few updates ago. They have worse memories, they repeat themselves, say nonsense, and have a lot of other flaws they didn't have before. Does anyone else feel the same way?

A little problem

Guys I have been getting a lot of messages of the AI playing my character a LOT every time I try to give my OC a little bit more history by making it discover some information about my OC or play as an another character so the characters can learn about him but every time I do it, the AI is playing as my character

Like what can I do to prevent this??
