Rude student.. Ap psych
Yesterday my school took the Ap Psychology exam and a few students from flvs who took the course online also came on my campus as well but they TWO of them were extremely rude and entitled and when they got called out on it by students and staff they played the victim. It is extremely disrespectful to be rude to others and give them attitude especially if you’re a guest. Please respect school staff and students. Mind you this all started because one of the students didn’t want to give the testing teacher their “dead name”, i promise you in the real world you are getting no where with that attitude. It’s understandable to a certain extent, you’re from a “different school” they need your legal name for security reasons, but they will gladly call you by whatever name you’d like..
So please if you’re in flvs do not disrespect staff brick and mortar students may say they hate em and not like school but they will defend their staff from others who are rude to them, thank you. This isn’t for everyone just the people who think being homeschooled means you’re entitled and better than everyone else cus you’re not.
Signing up for classes over the summer as FLEX
hi,
im looking to sign up for an ap class and some other classes to get credits over the summer but the thing is that my counselor literally NEVER checks flvs appointments unless you physically ask 😭
i cant ask about any ap classes since sign up is in june. also don't know whether they'll be there over summer break.. would it be worth it to just spam email her about remembering to approve me over the summer or??? i really need those credits since my school only does cambridge since we're lowk ass
Has any homeschool FLVS student taken AP exams at their local high school? If so, could you share your experience?
I’m taking the AP psychology exam and I’m feeling a bit nervous about the whole process. I would appreciate it if someone who has taken an AP exam at their local high school as a homeschooler could share some information on the whole experience. Was the process simple and straightforward or was it challenging? I don’t want to feel lost when I arrive and I would like to ease my mind on the whole situation. If anyone would like to share, that would mean a lot!
Thank you!
Worst testing experience
Only a few hours ago I faced the worst testing experience ever (Thanks to how unorganized Florida county’s are).
I was scheduled to take my Reading PM3 today at some random middle school. They stated be there at 9:15, easy right? No.
We get there and as I sign in they tell me I’m testing tomorrow. So I’m driving back home, then after my dad emailed them they legit told us that they made a mixup between the dates for homeschooled testing and FLVS.
Then I show back up, get there late, test, and finish. I get escorted to the front office and call my dad who orders a uber teen, but the staff say I can’t take an uber teen, which my dad had to cancel. So I then waited for my mom to pick me up 40 minutes later, leaving my dad furious.
That’s just today btw, I still have two more days for two different subjects I have to test. I’ll update y’all on what happens if anything happens.
Switching to in person
How do you guys feel about switching to in person school after being virtual? I've been virtual for the last three years now, so I'd be going back as a junior. Also, I've never attended an actual high school, nor one in the states, but I know they're very different than where I used to live. I want to go back to in person because I'm just very lonely as a virtual student, I spend all day on my computer and I don't talk to anyone except for my mom. It's made my anxiety worse and just caused my overall mental health to deteriorate.
I went to my zoned school two days ago for my ap exam and it's really big, there are a lot of people and I was instantly overwhelmed. But I don't know if I should account the anxiety I experienced to stress of the exam and also because there were some difficulties and I almost wasn't allowed to take it, so all that on top of the unfamiliar school and people, it was overwhelming. I just don't want to make the choice to go back and have to go through that stress everyday.
I don't want to complicate it because next year in april I might have to go out of the country. And because it's in april, it's around finals so I don't know if that would be more difficult to do in an in person school.
I also don't know if I'm allowed to take some classes in person and others online. I know flex exists but can you split up your core classes? Lile maybe I can just take my electives in person? I'm not sure, I've asked my guidance counsler but she always says she doesn't know so now I'm here.
I know this was a lot, but I've been contemplating it for a while and I want to get as much information as possible before presenting the idea to my mom cause she's already comfortable with me being virtual. I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer! :)
What did you guys get on the bio EOC? Something magical happened and granted me a 5 😇
Logic, Relationships, and Theorems
Congruence, Similarity, and Constructions
Measurement and Coordinate Geometry
For me there was no proofs
Does FLVS full time require you to turn on your camera for DBAS?
reddit.comTeacher dropped me without warning
Is there anyway I can get back in the class?? I didn’t submit for a week because I had a DBA next. I had a 50% completion rate. Can I get back in the class or the completion????
what happens if i don’t take eoc
i passed the algebra and reading eoc but what would happen if i just didn’t take the us history or geometry eoc in the state of florida would i get expelled?
so im not gonna say what class it is but basically i lazed around for the entire school year and now need to finish the last semester of a course before summer break😭 i dont really HAVE to but im a masochist and i wanna take more classes other than this so im just trying to get it over with
i know about the 14 day gap or something (i forgot what its called) where its like a testing period and none of your work is scored but to be honest 15 days is really an overexageration its closer to 20 days
anyways thats it id love to hear from anyone whos gone through something similar x_X
AP Environmental Science, Summer before Sophomore year??
Hey! I am considering taking APES over the summer before my sophomore year! I've already taken bio (not ap) but not chem. Idk if it's possible if you can take APES without chem. (I have taken physical science in 8th grade tho) And the pre-req states that two high school science courses. So technically I did take two high school classes but idk if i qualify. Any suggestions?
Accounting Applications 1
Hii!! Currently taking the accounting course in FLVS rn. Just want to know if anyone could recommend good study guides/flash cards for the QBCU exam and or gmetrix practice exam 1 & 2? Preferably on Quizlet, however if not that’s fine.
Also, has anyone taken AP macroeconomics course. If so, how was the course??
Thanks:)
