r/FFXV
Have you played any other game with similar dynamics between main cast as FF XV?
I really love how relationships between boys are portrayed in FF XV and I believe this is main reason why it‘s my favorite game in the series, despite all its flaws. So ever since I finished it I am trying to find games where relationships between teammates feels as real and fluid, and not just main character and bunch of supporting NPCs.
There are plenty of games with amazing parent-child dynamics, or between lovers, but with relationships between friends - not so much! Maybe it’s just my experience, I definitely didn’t play every single game in existence)
From what I know only Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy come close, but I can’t name anything else.
Do you have any other examples?

Forgot Monsters of the Deep!
Last December, I made a goal for myself to earn Platinums and 100% in FFXV, all the DLC, and available spin offs. I even worked it out where I finished them all on the same day for the fun of it.
I saw a post last week about Monsters of the Deep and realized I completely forgot about that one! Did I miss anything else? Is it worth playing?
Replaying the game after a decade… Still a masterpiece
So for context. I first played this game at launch and absolutely loved it. I was blown away by the graphics and gameplay. I was a big Zelda and Kingdom Hearts fan growing up. This was also my first Final Fantasy game. At the time I was in nursing school so I didn’t have the money or time to play any of the additional content that came out later. Even though the game and especially story had its flaws, it was one of my favorites.
Now a decade later, I’m a married man with a full-time job. It still blows me away how good this game is. I also think it came from that era of video games when developers were actually making games look incredible rather than being constrained by publishers like they are now. Other examples would be Assassins Creed unity or Arkham Knight. I’m only about five hours in, but I’m so excited to see how the game has changed with the updates and DLC content.
I’ll wait to pass judgment until I beat it but so far I still think this Topps Final Fantasy rebirth for me
Can anyone find the sound effect of when enemies are nearby/about to enter combat?
reddit.comHelp me, please, I’m stuck in the air
I really don’t want to reload a save, I’ve been in this dungeon for hours.
I mashed all the buttons already
I just finished the game for the first time and I'm feeling kinda empty about the ending.
I'm late to the party, but better late than never I guess.
First of all, it's a beautiful game. I'm not here to talk about gameplay, but about the story and the ending and how I felt like it was really flawed.
It's baffling to me that a game that focuses on its characters and really wants you to care about them has an ending with absolutely zero closure. I mean yeah, Noct got his end credits scene with Luna, but I'll be honest, that didn't do anything for me.
First of all it was hard for me to care about Luna. She didn't feel human to me at all. She was the Oracle yes, but I don't think they did that well in trying to get me to care about her. I understand her importance and the emotional weight of her death, but she was more of a symbol than an actual human.
Her flashbacks with Noct as kids didn't really do anything for me and their interactions with each other as adults are almost non-existent or just plain as her whole personality was being the Oracle. I dunno, I tried to care about her but I just really couldn't.
Characters like Iris, Aranea and Cindy are there with Noct during the game and even tho they are clearly supporting characters, I ended up caring about them more than Luna and the game clearly wanted you to care about them too, only to just dump them.
I mean Talcott briefly mentions that Cindy is still at Hammerhead and Iris became a daemon hunter. Later on in Insomnia if you do the side quests, you will get like 20 second phone calls from each of them.
It's like the devs knew they had to add them in there somehow, because they were part of the story, but the rushed ending prevented them from having anything relatively meaningful going for them.
Once Noct sacrifices himself, we never really saw how the world recovered, making his sacrifice feel super empty for me. Not seeing the survivors see the light again and rebuild the world even briefly, just took all the weight from the sacrifice for me personally.
Also how the game changes in chapter 8-9 to a more linear and kind of rushed story was definitely weird. It had it's moments, but it just felt messy and rushed.
I have way more questions and things I wanted to mention, but I don't wanna bore you guys. You've probably seen people mention these exact things several times in the last 10 years.
Overall a lot of things I loved about the game, but the story just felt very incomplete and somehow anticlimactic. The journey that made you love the characters just didn't get an ending it deserved in my opinion.
Finally Beat the Game. Now, stuck on Black screen with Corrupted Game Files Message.
I press Okay, black screen. Same thing if I press cancel. Cleared Cache, rebuilt data base. Nothing, same outcome. This message, followed by black screen.
I finally finished the game after 8 years of playing and doing side quests and stuff. This game has been my comfort game for those 8 years. And I can’t even play it anymore after finishing the game.
Been crying for the last few hours because 1 the ending was depressing, and 2, because I can’t go back to my favourite game.
Preferably I’d like to keep my save data, but that’s probably not possible, but at the very least I’d like to have my comfort game back. Idc if I have to start over. Because starting 119hours of gameplay is better than not playing the game at all imo.
How do I just simply get the game running again?
Why does the OST cd costs so much?
i recently started my cd collection, and as both a nerd and a ffxv lover, i thought it was a nice idea to buy the ost cd, since i love the music in that game, but holy cow, the price is unreasonably high for a compact disc, i might as well just burn one myself. But i'm not here to complain, i just can't understand, is there a valid reason for having such high price? Because it doesn't seem to be some sort of limited edition/special/exclusive stuff...
Weird glitch that happened right after beating Omega. I was terrified I had to do it all over again. Always save as soon as the boss dies kids
It's kinda lenghty but in the video it shows all the different attempts I did to "unstuck" myself from floating in the air. It happened again in the end facing the random daemons I warp striked to un-bug me, luckily I had Ignis' tech so Noct got teleported next to him.
I forgot to record it, but when going into the subway to call Umbra, Noctis started floating over the stairs. I just closed the game, reopened it and it worked fine.
I love the detail of Gladio being too tired & having to take a nap in the car while traveling
He's the only one who takes naps as well, Prompto & Noctis are wide awake all the time

Question about the "Universe" content
I'm finally playing through XV for the first time, but I wanted to do all the extra/universe content. I ended up following this guide in the Steam Community, which recommends when to play, watch, and/or read certain things outside of the base game.
Not sure if other people would agree with this person's guide, but I've been following it anyway and have enjoyed it so far. I just finished Chapter 13, played a bit of Comrades, watched the Episode Ardyn Prologue anime, and played Episode Ardyn.
I'm about to play Chapter 14, but after that the guide suggests to play Episode Ignis "Extra Verse" and read "Choosing Freedom" and "The Final Glaive" from the Dawn of the Future book before playing Chapter 15. The comments on the guide suggest that those 3 things, in particular, are related to the "official" alternate ending.
So... as much as I've enjoyed following the guide, this is the one part that feels weird to me. Would it be a mistake to explore the alternate ending before beating the main game first? Should I just play chapters 14 and 15 back-to-back and then explore the alternate ending stuff if I want?
I know it's probably just personal preference, but I'm wondering if there's maybe a good reason to experience the alternate ending first.
