Tried running my house with pro power onboard today

Finally got around to wiring up a generator plug so I can power my house with the 9.6kw inverter on board my lightning SR, we are very rural northern Ontario and outages can sometimes last days. Well, I'm happy to report that today's test has been a massive success, I've had it hooked up to the house for almost 6 hours now, and we haven't changed a thing about our routines, even washed/dried a load of laundry, and I'm still at 96%. The second picture is the base load and the third is the load when the well pump runs. The dryer drew a sustained 5700 watt, but the truck handled it with ease.

2022 Lariat Only 1.7/1.8 kWh Efficiency seem right considering the wheels and lift?

Bought this 22" Lariat last month. Posted about this then... but I didn't have as much info as I do now. It came with the off road tires and aftermarket wheels and an apparent lift. Also has the tonneau cover and racks on the bed. Noticing average 1.7-1.8 mi/kWh range. Standard range battery. Car scanner says 99% healthy battery. Drove up to Flagstaff from Phoenix and needed to charge in Sedona. Drove back from Flagstaff to Phoenix (downhill) and made it all the way back no problem with about 30%.

Lowered Lightning

For everyone waiting to lower their Lightning without going completely custom or blowing the budget, there are more options coming soon.

I just picked up my truck from Belltech after they used it for some R&D. They have lift and lowering kits in the works, and from what I’ve seen, they should be coming sooner rather than later.

My truck is currently running drop spindles up front with multi-way adjustable coilovers front and rear. I’m not going to speak on exact specs or product details — I’ll leave that to Belltech’s marketing team.

As it sits now, it’s sitting about 2 inches lower up front and about 4 inches lower in the rear.

Ride quality feels very close to factory. Not noticeably harsher, not noticeably softer — just more planted. With the Lightning’s already-low center of gravity and roughly balanced weight distribution, it honestly drives more like a proper performance truck now.

To me, this setup makes it feel a lot more true to the F-150 Lightning nameplate.

Charging Mileage Consistency

I’ve had my platinum for 2.5 years and love it. I have noticed in the last couple of months my range has changed a lot on charge.

Typically (and for two years plus) when I charge to 90% the meter shows 285ish miles. Now it’s 250ish miles.

It was 285ish in the winter, now it’s warmer and I have never seen it this low at 90. When I charge to 100% it will barely crack 280s.

Normal behavior here?

Navigation cards

So I recently got a cheap android "smarbox" media player. It lets me stream things like netflix and YouTube for the kids when we have to sit for long periods of time. It is a little older but I got it super cheap to see if I even wanted one. My question is sometimes the navigation card comes up and sometimes it doesn't. Is there a way to make it never come up on this device? Even if I'm using my phone instead I never use the cards.

Charging station?

I usually have a couple different chargers in the bed. Anyone have a nice setup (nicer than a bungee cord) for keeping them tidy and not knocking around?

Dealership WTF.

Interested in the groups thoughts on this. We traded in my wives MME and took the charging cord WE PAID for and now the dealership has sold the car and is requesting we bring it back in because the customer that bought it is demanding we give it to em… what’s the move here we have 2 EVs and have a mobile in one car camper and at a friends house whom we travel to fairly often. Would you give a $500 cord back or tell the dealership to pound sand?

100k miles today!

Picked up in 2022 July. 3rd truck in Houston area. Truck was strictly driven to and from construction job sites. Zero maintenance in 4 years including recalls. (I don’t fix if it’s not broken) Has been to ford collision twice. Rear ended twice, forklift hit twice. Tile fell on the fender once.

Best truck I ever owned. It’s also its last day, we sold it and moved to a Cybertruck. Spent $.02 per mile thanks to Time of use plans and solar panels.

I hate ford for killing this amazing truck, also hate them for not coming up with a working UI. When your calls cut non stop in a truck that does 200 miles a day and when your entertainment system gives you so much trouble everyday in terms of glitches, delays etc. you say enough at one point.

Also the FSD when you have a 200 miles a day commute is something your body needs. Our sales people all have teslas and now we are moving PMs to Teslas as well.

You will be missed terminator of trucks!

DCFC starts off 180+kw but then quickly goes down closer to 26 with this indication. Tried Tesla, EA, etc. Anything I can do? Level 2 at home works fine, no indication.

Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power blah blah blah

Yes, yes. Another "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" post. I first received the warning March 10. Dropped off at the dealer service department on March 16th and was diagnosed with a bad battery module. Here we are on April 24th, and still waiting on the part. Not tracking number and not ETA. I've called the BEV hotline and opened a case to no avail. Has anyone else experience such crazy wait times for parts delivery? This seems...excessive.

Emporia Classic Charging Cost Estimator

Is this thing accurate? 11 hours to charge to 90%. That will put me at about $22 dollars to “fill up”…

Still way less than filling up a gas tank, but it’s significantly more than I expected. Especially after seeing some people driving similarly to me spend $8 a week on energy

Also… Finally pulled the trigger and bought a 23’ Lariat in Avalanche Gray. Loving it so far! Just had the hardwired Emporia classic installed today.

Have to start them young

My daughter looked at me and said “I want a truck like daddy’s” so I delivered lol. Would you believe it’s brand new with zero miles haha? How much do you think it’ll cost to insure?

New Rims on the Lightning!!

I thought upgrading to 22-inch rims would hurt the ride quality, but it actually feels smoother and better. It’s probably the new Michelin Defender tires making the difference.

Red Ring

Just posting to echo what I’ve seen in others’ posts here. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Happy as a clam.

Driving from Worcester, Mass to Philadelphia. Solid red ring at a Tesla charger with four hours of driving still to go. At 5pm. Called dealers, but none had techs on duty that late.

Pulled the negative on the 12V and let it sit for 15 minutes. Back in business. Just hit 80% on the Mercedes charger. Nervous to get anything less than 85 before hitting the road again.

Thank goodness for this subreddit or I wouldn’t have known the battery cable trick!

If anyone isn’t packing a 10mm wrench, get one immediately. Panic sucks.
