I know there's going to be people rolling their eyes by just seeing the title, but stick with me for a sec....

Let's take Fortnite for example... the entire core element of gameplay for Fortnite Battle Royale was building forts. Then, a few years ago, a new season came out and they got rid of the building aspect (for the story of the season) and then brought it back, but people loved the no builds mode so much that they made it permanent.

As it stands now, there's a pretty big rift between people that just want to PvE vs the PvP crowd. So why can't Embark just make a PvE only mode? Because there's plenty of people like me, who enjoy PvP, and would still engage in the normal PvEvP mode, but I way more enjoy PvE and get plenty of stress and tension from the Arc as is, but most importantly, and what I think one of the main things that Embark and the, "JuSt GiT gOoD aNd StOp wHiNiNg" crowd isn't considering is, I don't want to kill another player if all they're trying to do is grind thru a trial or accomplish something game specific, because that's happened to ME too many times and I know how much it sucks. Like, "Dude, I'm just trying to get food for my chicken." I'm a nice guy in real life, so I have no desire to be an asshole in the virtual space. And I don't know if it's because the state of the world is as it is, especially in the U.S. where I'm from, but it legit just bums me out to be ratted on more than it pisses me off. Because people CHOOSE to kill other players in this game, you don't HAVE to do it. So, for someone like me, who doesn't want to rain on anyone else's parade, I will never shoot first, because I'm just out there trying to "treat others as I want to be treated". Running into a total stranger and them being cool and you end up helping each other out is pretty awesome. But like I said, I don't mind PvP, but 9.9 times out of 10, I've been killed by a rat douchebag, not someone engaging in a full-on gunfight. And no, I'm not expecting everyone to meet out in the street at high noon and have a shootout, but when I play other games LIKE Fortnite, I know what I'm in for. There's another player, shoot on sight. The whole point of other shooters is to win the shootout. I do not enjoy the PvEvP aspect whatsoever because I'm there for PvE and when I go 10 games without running into anyone other than super cool/fun/chill raiders that are there for the same reasons, that 11th game where you run into an asshole who's only killing you because some people just love shitting on other people's good time, it's just jarring and borderline enough to make me want to stop playing. (And let's be real, most PvP'rs that are in friendly lobbies are only there because they've taken advantage of the ABBM, which I think works very well.) And with this new Riven Tides update, where it seems Embark is purposely making PvE'rs lives worse, closing down the game and walking away is becoming more of a reality, which sucks, because I love the game. And I've had a handful of friends that I have tried to bring over to the game and they don't much like PvP games and have SAID, "If they had a mode where you could just PvE, I would be all about it."

Adding a PvE only mode doesn't take anything away from anyone at all. The PvP crowd can still shoot on sight, the PvPvE crowd can still play exactly how they want to play, except for the fact that a PvE only mode would eliminate the friendly, easy pickings that the rat douchebags depend on. The only thing a PvE only mode will do is give more people more options to play how they want to play. Just rachet up the Arc threat a bit more in the PvE only mode to balance out the removal of the human element threat and there you have it. More play options = more players, it's that simple.

And now that the honeymoon phase is over for Arc Raiders and the player count is dropping, some of those people that have left may be people who just got tired of being shit on by other players. A PvE only mode might be a way to bring most of those people back and keep them there. Just a thought.

Does Embark support exist?

I have gotten the same error message for Arc Raiders for over 3 weeks now. The entire time Embarks support chat has only said “we’ll get this to our team. Is your problem fixed now?” with their every other day responses. I press no, give them my error code and repeat, while asking for a real chat support. I can be patient and wait for help, but I paid 40 dollars to play this game only for it to randomly stop working and for no one to help for weeks.

“Failed to install EasyAntiCheat.

SID: d82gg1m0nlnir175qbpg
TID: 2574001480566031474

Failed to launch EasyAntiCheat Installer.”

Tried every YouTube support video, and EasyAntiCheat support article. Arc is the only game with EasyAntiCheat that won’t launch. Other Embark games still work. I want my money back at this point but there’s no humans on the support team to even help me do that.

Raiders - I quit

Hey Raiders,

I quit - thank you for a great time. With the rats, I do not forgive, I have lost the taste and game forward. Why bother, if my only recourse is to lose all my time behind frustratred or bored gamers, and third-party/slash/another slash peered-pressured people that strive on following a status quo.

You - embark - yes lower-case- made the decision for me. Good bye and and be well.

Do not count on me for a good-time.

I hope the game does well.

These would be the kind of collectibles that people would actually be excited to find rather than ducks and boats. Since they can be sold to vendors or be part of a special collection where you can redeem for more meaningful rewards.

CARD Design: Every card will have a front and backside. Front could feature art and backside could feature lore or a short story. Maybe even dialog from the characters.

The cards take up inventory space topside but take up no stash space since they will be collected in a new trading card Binder which is sorted by category of cards. The cards can be sold to vendors or they can be collected and once you collect enough or redeem certain sets you can claim new meaningful rewards. Such as permanent buffs to your stash (basic mats like metal going from 50 to 55). Or weapons/items/cosmetics and potential special loot boxes. The rewards right now aren't too important. The devs could figure that out... but the core concept of the trading cards as collectables I feel is what matters.

Augments will have extra slots for cards: The green/blue/purple augments each will have 1-4 extra specialty slots just for trading cards (similar to trinket slots). Maybe 1 slot for the free kits too.

FOIL cards as a risk amplifier: Very rare foil versions of all the cards exist and these create extra tension because they Cannot be placed into safe pockets or specialty slots. They also Emit an orange glow on the player’s clothing every 3 seconds and can be seen from a distance. This can alert other players (and arc) that this raider has a valuable foil card on him and create emergent high tension gameplay. If you extract with a foil it can permanently be ticked off in your collection and goes into a separate non redeemable binder. It also awards you coins upon extraction and an item from a select specialized pool based on which card it is. Collecting enough foils could maybe unlock permanent stash buffs.

Examples of trading card sets: 1) The NPCS from the game (uncommon). 2) NPCs on vacation (rare). 3) NPCs in alternate costumes (very rare). 4) Weapons of each rarity. 5) Arc enemies. 6) Battle Scenarios. 7) Beautiful Vistas.

Examples of redemption: Medium rewards based on redeeming 3 cards out of any set of your choice. High tier rewards for redeeming subsets and highest tier rewards for full sets.

Possible rewards: Lot of possibilities. Can be complete loadouts with good gear that take only 1 inventory slot. Upon redeeming a loadout it enters your inventory. Can also redeem tier 4 version or an exotic version of a weapon upon redeeming any 3 copies of the same weapon card.

Loot Boxes: can hold entire loadouts, cosmetics, patches/pins for your outfits, accessories that offer small passive non-combat buffs and last for multiple rounds, special item variants like heavy fuze grenades that also release fire like a blaze grenade after exploding, or special weapons that are exotic versions of existing weapons. Possibly the exotic weapons only deal extra damage to arc to maintain balance for pvp. Example of an Exotic weapon: A Ferro where every 4^(th) shot fired is an explosive round that detonates 2 seconds after impact for double damage. And some of the items inside the loot boxes could maybe be exotic/special upgraded versions of existing items.

Love to know what you think! Please share your ideas.

Trials lack depth and sense of reward. What if we had Trail Points to redeem for prizes and stash upgrades as incentive for ranking high in trials?

Let’s face it... currently the trials are not really that engaging or rewarding and many of us choose to do them as a means of creating our own endgame. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was additional reward or incentive to perform well in the trials and there was legitimate excitement for getting really high scores? Because currently all you need to maintain hotshot is a decent score each week. Nothing really high reaching. So lets come up with something more rewarding. We can keep the current rewards but add something more:

Imagine this: Based on how high you rank in your division 1-50 (no trial points for 51-100) you gain trial points and prize points. Also the points are higher based on your division. With daredevil, hotshot and cantina legend offering the most points.. You can redeem the trial points eventually for stash upgrades and other passive buffs to your stash or inventory.

Examples of rewards for trial points: Upgrading your metal stacks from 50 to 55 to 60 to 65 (same for other basic mats). Upgrading crude explosives stacks from 10 to 12 to 14 to 16 etc. Upgrading advanced mech/electrical from 5 to 6 to 7. Complex Weapons 3 to 4 to 5. And so on.

Examples of rewards for prize points: Loot boxes that contain misc items but also contain entire high tier loadouts. The loadout takes up only 1 inventory slot and you can examine it to see the contents. You can then choose to ‘’open’’ the loadout and then it shows up in your inventory screen. The loadouts cannot be traded or given to other players and they are tied to your account.

Experimental idea: Imagine if in the loot boxes you could also get an exotic variant of existing weapons? Basically a more powerful version but with meaningful balance built in. In order to prevent cheaters and dupers from filling the economy with these weapons we can make them Unsharable just like the loot boxes themselves. Cannot be given to other players. And the weapons themselves will not be too powerful but still provide a meaningful upgrade and mostly towards white, green, blue weapons. And any direct damage buffs could be towards ARC only.

Examples of exotic weapons:  A ferro where every 4^(th) shot is an explosive round. When that round connects with an arc it detonates after a 2 second delay to deal double damage . VS players: the 4^(th) shot deals just regular damage and no explosion. A rattler which has a larger clip and higher armor penetration. It also tags every arc enemy it hits and the tag remains for 15 seconds for your whole team to see. Note: No imbalance for pvp.

If you have other ideas or variations please share! Whether for the rewards, passive buffs, or weapons or anything else.

You didnt like the new Riven Tides map? Great, cause you'll be getting even less content now.

$500m in sales and 1,000 employees, and we cant even get 1 new map which is the same quality as the launch maps? And now we're only getting 2 maps per year?! Man, I guess my expectations for this game need to be completely reset. We should have listened to The Finals players who warned us.

Isn't the whole point of UE5 that its easy to use? Isn't map editing like a very basic dev thing which interns and low level employees can do based on concept art?

If Embark are too busy making new games, just release the map editor to the community. We could do 10x this output in 1/10th the time. Let us make and use custom community maps if youre abandoning the game for your next venture.

How do you expect to retain a player-base for THE FINALS when your ranked system actively punishes the players who put the most into it?

I've been grinding ranked seriously. I'm not a casual. By every individual metric I am outperforming my lobby. Consistently. And yet I'm stuck because the RS doesn't care about any of that. I not only speak for myself here but for the countless other people in this very situation. The system cares solely about where your team placed, and when the algorithm pairs you with a returning absentee or a fresh ranked player against two or three coordinated stacks, that placement was never yours to control.

That's not competitive matchmaking at all but rather a lottery with extra steps.

S10 made incremental moves and I'll give you credit for that. But the core flaw we raised remains completely untouched. Placement trumps everything, including the individual performance that placement is supposed to reflect. You can do every single thing right and still lose elo so unbelievably heavily. Every. Single. Round.

This game is genuinely one of the most creative, ambitious and dynamic shooters in years. That's why it hurts so much. Right now, ranked is quietly driving out a whole horde of players who care the most about it, and in an already small player-base, those are exactly the people you cannot afford to lose.

Arc Raiders has already lost 80% of its player-base in just a few months. Sure, that happens sometimes with post-launch cliffs but it happened faster than natural attrition should account for. The Finals isn't too far behind unless you take action and address the issues we are raising. You have the data, you know what's up. Fix it.

If any of this is incorrect, I welcome the correction.

TL;DR: The RS punishes individual performance, rewards placement you can't always control, and it's slowly killing the ranked scene.

Embark Support

Has anyone actually received assistance from embark by submitting a ticket? They seem to be incompetent when it comes to player support.
