Hey guys the time uve been waiting for has come.

Following an offical update from the representative of the Qatari MOE, Pearson Edexcel examinations in the upcoming May/June 2026 session have been

CANCELLED.

I have confirmed that examinations in 5 countries have been CANCELLED. (Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Lebanon, and Kuwait).

For candidates from (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Oman), dw l am currently in contact with delegations from ur MOEs and we are still discussing the situation.

I will formally update the subreddit the moment I receive anything substantial.

I have been getting many private messages asking what will happen to them.

So I’m gonna discuss the pathways here:

——-—> If your country cancelled examinations (Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Lebanon, and Kuwait) then u are gonna be graded depending on the category u are in:

CATEGORY 1: If u HAVE sat AT LEAST 15% of a subject (Meaning if you have sat at least 1 unit from an AS cash in or 2 units from an A Level cash in), something called "Enhanced grading" will be applied to calculate your grade. Let's say you are sitting AS level Biology during this session but u have already sat Unit 1 during Jan, U ARE IN THIS CATEGORY. Edexcel will use the component u sat to determine your overall grade. DW it's called "ENHANCED grading" for a reason. They will use something called PUM and they will determine a number reflecting how well you did in your first component. They will then take that number and ENHANCE it thus u will actually get a HIGHER grade.

CATEGORY 2: If u are sitting the WHOLE of a subject during this session (All of AS or Half of A-Level). Then you will be eligible for something known as the portfolio of evidence. The portfolio will consist of both primary AND secondary evidence. Ur primary evidence must contain verified examinations, mocks, tests, and etc. They will MAINLY use primary evidence, BUT secondary evidence is also important. Secondary evidence includes anything that isn't "official" or

"verified" so notes, worksheets, and etc. They will combine both types of evidence WITH your teachers prediction and they'll award you a grade.

——-—> If your country has NOT cancelled examinations (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Oman), then these possible scenarios may occur:

-There is still time for boards to decide to cancel examinations in these countries so pls be prepared for any scenario. I am still in contact with the MOE in these countries and I will inform the subreddit when anything happens.

-If u end up sitting examinations, DW. Edexcel has confirmed that centers will be allowed to apply for special consideration in the case that a disadvantaged candidate sits an exam. Ur school will be encouraged to apply for special consideration for all candidates sitting during the May/June 2026 session, ur school will be required to prove that u were disadvantaged (online learning due to war, sirens, dangerous conditions, and etc). If approved (which is likely), Edexcel will add a MAXIMUM of 5% extra marks for each component in a subject.

So if ur taking all units within AS biology then they will ADD a maximum of 4 marks in U1 and U2, and 2.5 marks in U3. They will then add the components UMS and calculate ur grade. PLS APPLY FOR THIS AS IT MIGHT TRULY RAISE UR GRADE.

Some fucking ppl are saying cancelled some r saying not cancelled what the fuck is going on someone PLS tell me when an official announcement will come from moe or pearson or schools or anyone. ALL I KNOW is that ges and usi have released emails but other than that Nothing why tf would only TWO schools release an official statement whilst every other FUCKING SCHOOL ISNT SAYING SHIT FUCKING PISSING ME OFF BRO. MY FRIEND CALLED HIS TEACHER FROM NEWTON BARWA AND HE SAID EXAMS ARENT CANCELLED SOME DBS TEACHERS ARE SAYING CANCELLED GENUINELY IF U DONT KNOW WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT STFUUUU. and can someone provide actual evidence if there even is about when an official statement will be released and where itll be released. ig : 0zelka btw

so the meeting happened for sure. a friend of mine just tried to ask a teacher in the meeting he said she couldnt tell him anything but she was hinting towards her being happy.

he said he called her up after and she hung up on him but i think he’ll try again soon. ive got other sources who havent said anything yet so ill update this as soon as i get more info

update: she told him to call her tonight and she’ll say, give it a few hours

another update: meeting is still going on. another source said thryr gonna go ask the teacher as soon as he finishes the meeting

start writing the email to pearson or your exam center..- how come its cancelled for them but not for us what the hell 🚨

i mean if you didn’t decide to lock in for your mocks instead of js wasting time you wouldn’t be against the cancelation that is such a you problem should’ve just listened when they told you to study

I dont understand how are exams still going on for private candidates if it’s unsafe for everyone??

there is not a single post on here not crine abt cancellations in x country. like bruh u dont know how stressful it is to have mocks and making sure you can find all the evidence you need.

plus everyone can cheat bruh its not fair at all, and btw boards are gonna be putting quotas on grades btw, for example only 20% of ppl get 9 or only 15% ppl get 8 etc. so its kinda a disadvantage. schools will be way more strict for ts and yah idk man its all just extra stress that could be avoided

WE gotta do something about this unequality for the sake of justice!! because what do you mean we risking our lives to go write exams while in school candidates gets their exams cancelled, this is actually unfair treatment ngl, why can't we get the same treatment as the students that attend school???

a friend of friends told me that their school received news this morning that uk-regulated gcses are also cancelled in dubai.

(This is unconfirmed so take it with a grain of salt :) )

I’m so confused rn are exams canceled or not everyone keeps saying different things

Are our exams also cancelled? because technically shouldn't cancellations also apply for BOTH private candidates and public in school centers if exams are cancelled? I am hearing private candidates say they got a call from their exam centers that they would go on while some people say that Edexcel is looking for other alternatives for private candidates. I am asking since I am a private candidate myself and i really need a conclusion soon since i need to plan my next steps

This is taking more than expected like were in the major war zone and still did not cancel for us??

I have just gotten off the phone from the british council of dubai and they said its not cancelled for private candidates, however theyll update us in a few days

If yall got like emails or stuff say and pls dont spread fake news cause the MOE hasnt made a statement but we cant wait
