The Long Run

Life’s been good, and I’d like to take it easy. But while I want to take it to the limit, I’m thinking my odds of buying Sphere tickets at face value are low in the long run.

Henley Blatant Lip Synching in Atlanta

Good lord…just watched Henley “singing” Boys of Summer at their Atlanta gig at Truist Park.

He is so far off trying to mime.

I really hate this. This is my favorite band.

Eagles at the Sphere: What was the ticket market like for previous shows?

I plan to buy tickets for one of the new dates in November, tomorrow morning during the presale. Some questions:

  • Did Ticketmaster prices drop towards the date of the event, or did resellers get all of the good seats at that point?
  • What was the resale market like? If Ticketmaster is pricing them in the high-hundreds or over a thousand, is it worth waiting for resale tickets to drop in price?
  • Do presale tickets sales usually eat up all of the better sections? Or, if presale doesn't work out, or tickets are dynamically priced really high, will I have better luck during other presales and/or the general on-sale date? Or will it likely be the same experience?
  • What is the likelihood that I'll get a better deal on resale, compared to dynamically (or normally) priced tickets on Ticketmaster?

I understand if these shows might be a different experience, considering that they've already had dozens of shows, but I'd like to get a general idea of what to expect. I'm hoping to get 2 tickets in the 200s or 300s sections for my mom.

Update: After 30 minutes of nonstop errors since the Waiting Room opened at 9:45 (on-sale time was 10am), I got into two queues at 144k and 220k in line (at around 10:15am.) Maybe 45 mins minutes later (11am,) I started getting into seat selection. Ended up getting Sect. 308, Row 2 for $402 (Official Platinum) and $526 (Eagles Hot Ticket Package) before fees, $1,193 after fees. Time of sale: 11:08am (68 mins after planned on-sale.) They are side-by-side, but different pricing tiers.

What time do Eagles start?

My son and I are going to The Eagles concert tonight in Nashville. There is an opener we have never heard of. What time have The Eagles actually taken the stage in their last few shows?

We are getting something to eat and the restaurant is slow.

Arlington, TX questions - anyone familiar with Globe Life Field?

Realized the Eagles are playing the weekend I’ll be in Ft. Worth, so grabbed two tickets. Not familiar with the venue/area at all (coming from TN), so a few questions
- do we need to purchase parking beforehand?
- is the venue interesting enough to warrant arriving early when parking opens? I’m comparing it to the Battery in Atlanta next to Truist park, where there are tons of restaurants and shops….similar or is it just the stadium?
- will people arrive early and tailgate at all? We’ve done that for concerts before - loaded up a cooler and snacks - and can be a fun way to meet people and get excited for the show.

Any other tips?

Thank you!!

Is there anything to the debate between Eagles and The Eagles?

In the movie “The Country Bears,” Don Henley makes a cameo and refers to the performance (voiced by Bonnie raitt and himself) as “better than the eagles.”

What Would a Modern Day Eagles Look Like?

Alright, so I’ve done something like this with The Highwaymen and seeing what a current day lineup what look like for them. I wanted to try and see what a modern day lineup for The Eagles would look like for y’all and suggestions for who could be members?

All of this discussion is in good fun due to The Eagles claiming they are finishing touring at the end of the year (I won’t hold my breath).

So far I’ve only thought of Derek Trucks and Billy Strings as 2 good ones. Not sure about bass, drums or any other member (6th member?). Let me hear your thoughts, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Since there are still people asking about merch. Here are some examples from Atlanta I found, including VIP merch. If there is a different poster for today than Atlanta would love to see someone post it.

Studio vs Live Recordings

Every Eagles song I’ve listened to a live version of online is far and away better than any studio version I can find. I’d guess this is a common opinion but it really is uncanny. Almost no other band I’ve found has the same experience.

What’s up guys! Flying down to Georgia tomorrow for the concert, I’m pretty excited. Even though it’s not the completely original band, I’m looking forward to the live music.

Yesterday I went record shopping and picked up a copy of On the Border. Amazing stuff, I have been religiously listening to all the albums since January.

Onto the main question that popped into my head this morning at work: Chances if I bring the sleeve, could I get an autograph, given it’s their last tour and all? Answer is likely no, but figured I’d poll the people and see what you guys think? 🤔

Eagles played the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival today to a sold out crowd. This was their 3rd concert in New Orleans in the last 4 years. It really is The Long Goodbye tour since that was the name of the tour went we last saw them here over 2 years ago.
