Experience with an Ecovacs Goat O1200 LIDAR Pro

Have recently gifted myself a somewhat nice robot lawnmower thinking it would buy me time on weekends(wrong).

It was also not as expensive as others on the market (got it for 750€ on the official app with the Garage).

It started well, pairing was easy, all the setup was done under 10min.

Mapping the first 650m² mostly flat Garden was done manually, going really close to the edge thinking it would do a better job this way (wrong).

I wanted to add the second part, which he cannot access by himself, and wasn't able to (my bad I should have searched if it was possible first).

Anyway, the first mow starts and everything goes well.

Until he found himself close to the fence.

Way to close for my comfort.

I stopped it and started adding NO GO Zone.

I restarted it and he went on is merry way.

Then I got a notification that he was stuck.

He wanted to u-turn in the No Go Zone, lost traction, dig himself a nice nest.

I contacted the support, which told me to remap and move the RTK station (it's a LiDAR version not the rtk one....).

Doing as I'm told, I also remap leaving extra spaces between borders and sensitive areas he shouldn't mow.

And it U turned again outside of the designated area.

The trimmer is useless for me. I have to leave huge gaps so it doesn't get stuck or hurt itself ( wich he did anyway).

Otherwise the cut is nice and well done.

Support is useless, the software isn't there.

I cannot recommend it.

(I apologize for any mistakes I made, well no, I don't. I'm French.)

GOAT A2500 constantly rebooting.

After getting off to a mostly reliable start to the season, my Goat A2500 RTK lawn robot has deteriorated.

It is now rebooting roughly once every couple of minutes, or even less. This occurs when I'm mowing the lawn, in any mode, or even when it's in the charger. Sometimes the robot recovers and continues mowing the lawn again, but only for another minute or two until the next reboot. Sometimes after rebooting, the robot decides to head back to the charging station, where it continues rebooting.

Needless to say, this is not acceptable. Rest assured I have reset power to the robot, charging station, and RTK station, more times than I can count. In frustration, I have even resorted to factory resetting the robot a couple of times. This seemed to stabilize the situation the first couple times I tried... but the most recent factory reset did nothing to stop the reboots. (Even if the factory reset fixed the problem, it would not be an acceptable solution due to the remapping requirements.)

Unless there is another avenue to try, I have given up on trying to get this robot to work correctly... it seems hopeless. What are the odds that Ecovacs will honor the warranty and replace my unit, which was purchased in June 2025?

Best review I've seen so far on the new model with edge trimming. Guy does 5+ mins (its a paid promo).. but he does an honest review

My yard is around 2000sqm and have some tall walls. The lawn isn’t perfectly flat. There are some uneven patches, light slopes, and a few flower beds, so edge cutting and stability is pretty important for me, so edge cutting and stability are pretty important for me. I’ve been looking into robot lawn mowers and might get one. The a3000 lidar pro looks like it could work for my setup, but I’m still unsure how it actually performs in a real garden. My main concern is how well it handles everyday obstacles like tree roots and random clutter, and whether it runs smoothly in day-to-day use.

Just wondering if this is the right one for my yard, or if I should be looking at something else? Would love to hear some real experiences before deciding, thanks!

The last few days it has stopped mowing in straight lines and just flips our mowing random patterns.

Lidar 3000 is my model.

I know this has been discussed with at least one other Ecovacs mower, but I don’t see a thread regarding the a2500.

I don’t see any way to turn off object avoidance with the a2500. Not in the mower/robot settings, or area/auto mowing settings. There’s no “mow zone” way to turn off object avoidance (similar to a no go zone). These must be options in other mowers, but not the a2500.

Can anyone confirm this?

I see the enhanced mode does seem to have a slightly taller object avoidance setting, but still doesn’t make a difference concerning those pesky dandelions.

I know I can remove the dandelions myself, I know I can mow more often. I’m just trying to determine what the a2500 is capable of. Since their app is kinda glitchy (let’s face it y’all), who knows what is actually possible with these robots.

Battery was at above 50%. Was able to set it up and add it to my app. When I moved it outside it turned off and won’t turn back on. Battery shows 36v with a mutimeter. Charging dock light is solid. Charging dock is working as well. Does not blink when I dock the mower. Checked the battery plug and it’s plugged in. Any thoughts?

Thinking about returning my unopened Ecovacs O1000 Goat LiDAR Pro to Amazon.

I bought my ecovacs o1000 goat from Amazon a week or so ago. It's still in the box. After reading all of these posts between the reddit and the Ecovacs one, I'm really close to just returning the thing. They seem to be pretty buggy and the support seems to be not very supportive.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a different brand/model for $1500 or less, please? Something preferably on Amazon that I can return if I'm not happy with it?

Thank you for any suggestions that you may have.

GOAT O1000k RTK suddenly can't mow straight?

I've had this model for about 9 months now, never had issues with it mowing straight lines. This week I noticed the yard looked terrible with unmowed patches everywhere. I watched it mow for a few minutes and it won't go more than 1-2 feet in a straight line before turning in circles then heading another direction. I checked the spinning blade and it's clean with no obstructions. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'll include a pic of the unmowed patches

Given the challenges associated with getting a factory-equivalent battery for their dead GOAT A2500 RTK, does anyone know if the BMS communicates with the body in a way that would preclude swapping the dead battery for an alternative 32v nominal pack with a non-stock BMS?

In a perfect world, the body would just check for 32 v from the pack when operating and feed 37 v towards the pack when docked and then we could use any old smart BMS with and old cells.

See image. I have the GOAT docked on my patio and it thinks I want to mow that area. How do I modify that spot so it comes out of the dock to the main area to cut? Thanks

"Mowing completed" when it's not actually complete... Goat O1000 Lidar

Why is this happening? It stops and says mowing completed when there's still a ton left to cut. It happens in random areas not always the same spot. What can I do to fix it?

Never thought I'd let a robot mow my lawn... here we are

I went back and forth on getting a robot mower for a long time because honestly, my yard isn't even that big. But mowing still somehow feels never ending, and I was getting pretty tired of dealing with it. Ended up picking up the Goat O1000 Pro recently, and I'm still very much in the honeymoon phase😂 I keep following it around while it mows. Apparently you can't get too close though, or it stops because it detects people nearby. It's way more fun and convenient than I expected. Even with a smaller yard, I can already tell it was worth it. No regrets so far haha.

I was doing a google search for a question I had on my O1000 Lidar Pro, and it directed me to the Q&A on the Amazon page. However I noticed that the page now said both the O1000 and A2000 Lidar units are unavailable and they don't know if they will be coming back. The A3000 is still for sale.

Wondering if that is a supply issue or something else?

Just curious if anyone is familiar with the difference between the 2 models. I have a relatively small yard with a perimeter fence, trees, a gazebo and a trampoline. Total lot size is 7300 sq ft.

I'm planning on upgrading from my Landroid that requires a boundary wire.

Really wondering if the one with Lidar Pro is worth the additional cost.

TIA

Just got my goat, grass cut is fine, and it even seems to stick fairly well to the edge I defined (slowly and carefully).

However... The edge strimmer. If started off near the edge, then for no good reason just wandered into the middle of the lawn. Then it restarted and rejoined the edge, then took a diversion away, then back again. Then it took one edge about a foot away, then it had a fairly good run - pretty close - cut a few bits. Then decided it was done (it was halfway) and went to bed.

So, I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. I only bought the 1200 for the edge cut, my lawn is only 100m2. Anyone had experience of returning in the UK?

It would be a shame as it seems ok otherwise, it's just I dropped quite a bit if extra cash for a side trimmer that isn't fit for purpose, and from what I read I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for software updates or customer services support.

After using the O600 for a while, are smaller lawns actually better suited for more frequent mowing?

I’ve been running the O600 RTK for a while now. The no-boundary-wire setup feels so much easier compared to my traditional mower. One thing I’ve been thinking about lately though is mowing frequency. Back when I used a regular push mower, I’d usually wait until the grass got pretty tall before cutting it. Now with an automatic mower, it feels like most people prefer doing smaller cuts more often instead.

Right now I have mine going out every day or two for a quick mow. The grass clippings stay really fine, so they just fall back into the lawn, and the yard always looks neat and even. But I’m curious, do you guys think running it that often adds more wear to the machine or battery over time? Or do you still prefer setting it once a week and letting it handle everything in one go?

First time using this edge trimmer, I’ve got the Goat O1200

We just had our first perfect lawn party of this year, and a few neighbors were already asking me how I handled the edges this year. I was actually pretty happy that people were complimenting how well it mows. Anyone else picked this up too? I wanna keep using it a bit longer and see how it holds up over time.
