I need an elective for my next term! Low to zero effort class

My next term will be quite heavy, so if there are any recs on an elective for a business major that requires minimal to almost no effort would be appriciated!

Drexel OR Pitt

I'm deciding on these two colleges and need to make a decision ASAP. I recently got into Pitt and have been considering it. The price isn't really a deciding factor for my family anymore so now I'm even more confused since the price of colleges had been my deciding factor.

I'm gonna list some details to provide context of my situations :

DREXEL

COST: $50K per year

Honors program

STAARS research program

MAJOR: Psychology

PITT

COST: ~$54K per year

Honors program

MAJOR: Psychology

I would've committed to Pitt instantly, but I really like living in the city and am not sure if Pittsburgh will really provide that for me from what I've seen. But then I also love how there's the college campus vibe plus the city vibe. I love the campus culture at Pitt, and even though I'm not a huge party person I could see myself there.

The only thing keeping me tied to Drexel is the research program I got into. It would allow me to do research my freshman summer which I think is a great opportunity. Pitt will also provide great research opportunities but I feel like they will be more competitive and harder to get.

I will appreciate any advice at all on this matter cuz may 1st is right around the corner!

New graduate students

I’m starting as a new grad student at Drexel in the fall and just wanted to know if any other grad students out there have figured out anything about housing, classes, orientations, etc.

What's the thing about the quarter system at Drexel that nobody prepares you for?

Everyone talks about co-op but the quarter system itself is a whole different beast. The pace, the way exams hit, the way you barely settle into a class before it's over. For people who've been through it, what's the thing about the quarter system that caught you off guard and how did you learn to adapt? Is there a point where it starts to feel normal or are you always sprinting?

Looking for Flyers fan to help test a sports app at playoff game

I’m running a small user test for a live sports app and looking for someone attending a Flyers playoff game to try it during the game.

We cover the ticket and provide a thank-you payment for participating. There’s a quick walkthrough beforehand, then you’d use the app briefly during play and give some feedback afterward.

The best fit would be someone reliable who likes hockey and plans to watch the game closely.

If interested, reply or send a DM, and we can connect quickly.

How did co-op change what you thought you wanted to do after graduation?

I feel like one of the unique things about Drexel is that you get thrown into the real world way earlier than most college students and sometimes that completely shifts your plans. Did your co-op experience confirm what you thought you wanted to do or did it send you in a totally different direction? What happened and how did it change your perspective?

Is drexel worth the money and debt?

Im trying to make decisions before May 1st. Drexel has been my dream school through out highschool however my family can't afford it and it would require me to start my adulthood in debt.

I might be making a huge mistake, please tell me if I am

Title sounds desperate, but I kind of am lol

I’m an international student who got into Drexel with ~$40k/year aid (which I think is pretty standard). The estimated total cost over 4 years is around $204k. For a long time, I was set on not going because that level of debt doesn’t seem worth it for Drexel.

But lately I’ve been reconsidering and… honestly, part of me wants to gamble on it. My family can only contribute about $3–4k per year, so everything else would be on me.

Here’s where my head is at:

  1. I got into the AI major, and I already have some solid, somewhat recognized work in that field. I feel like I have a clear direction for what I want to do in college and my career.
  2. I thought about taking loans just for the first year, but I don’t fully understand how it works. From what I know, I’d need a U.S. co-signer with good credit, and I don’t have anyone.
  3. One plan is to attend Drexel and then apply as a transfer student to more prestigious schools, hoping for a full ride or full demonstrated need. I know that’s risky, but everything about this situation feels like a risk anyway.

Another idea I had: commit to Drexel, pay the deposit, then take a gap year and reapply elsewhere. Not even sure if that’s allowed or smart.

I could probably get into top universities in my home country for much cheaper, but I really want to study abroad. The life and career path I see for myself just doesn’t align with staying here.

Right now my only realistic path seems like: loans + co-op money + squeezing everything I can out of Drexel, and maybe trying for internal or private scholarships later.

Important question: Is there any real chance of getting additional merit aid at Drexel after enrolling? For example, if I get a 4.0 GPA freshman year or do strong extracurriculars/community service?

Sorry if this sounds rushed or uninformed. I’m in the middle of final exams and trying to figure out my future at the same time. Any advice would really help

bad idea to enroll as a physics major?

Choosing between Drexel and another college (for which I got accepted into Aerospace Engineering)

Just want to know if majoring in physics here is a bad idea, and I want the brutally honest truth.

Outdoors enthusiasts at Drexel?

My child is considering Drexel because of its co-op program. It also checks off many of the other criteria, and after visiting we were pleasantly surprised to see that the campus doesn't feel like it's in the middle of a city while being close enough to enjoy all the good things Philly has to offer. One question we had, mainly because we are from out of state and we're not familiar with the area, is whether there's a community of students who enjoy activity outdoors, and if that's something that could be accessible even for freshman without a car. Whether it's hiking or being out on the water, she would enjoy being able to take in nature and as much as possible. I know not to compare Drexel to other schools with a big green campus away from a big city -- I guess I'm curious if anybody here has felt like they don't have enough access to nature/outdoorsy activities and if that has been thought of as a drawback of being at Drexel.

Inquiry about I-20 - do I need to pay a deposit to get my i20 ?

I am an international student and got accepted to drexel for computer engineering with accelerated degree program and STARS scholars program. I am trying to make my decision as fast as possible. I have got $37K in scholarship and my COA shows to be $53K in my award letter... but I am confused as to if these financial stuff will vary in the i20. And how much I would need to show as my family's contribution in the i20 (53K or what?)

SO, the question of the hour is: DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT AMOUNT TO CONFIRM MY ENROLLMENT BEFORE GETTING MY I20 FORM WHICH I NEED FOR APPLYING FOR VISA ?

INTERVIEW REQUEST: AL BUSTAN SEEDS OF CULTURE

Hi! I’m a media fellow working on a story about SWANA/MENA diaspora voters in Philadelphia—both independent/unaffiliated and partisan—and their perspectives on proposed legislation that would allow unaffiliated voters to participate in primary elections.

If you’re open to being quoted on the record, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to message me directly, and thanks so much!
