DJI Lito series launched: Lito 1 and X1 Specs + my thoughts vs the Mini and Neo

DJI just released two new drones, the Lito 1 and Lito X1, and I’ve been going through the specs + store pages. Haven’t tried either yet, but my first reaction is that DJI’s lineup is starting to get kind of messy.

My impression is that the Lito series is basically DJI carving out a new middle tier between the Neo-style "easy flying camera" drones and the more expensive Mini line.

The Lito 1 starts at 339 € and on paper it looks pretty strong for the price:

  • 1/2" 48 MP sensor
  • 4K/60
  • 4K/100 slow motion
  • omnidirectional obstacle sensing
  • ActiveTrack
  • 36 min flight time
  • 15 km transmission
  • 249 g

That makes it feel like a pretty direct upgrade over stuff like the Mini 4K, which is cheaper but also much more basic. Mini 4K still looks fine if you just want a simple cheap camera drone, but Lito 1 feels much more "current".

Then the Lito X1 starts at 429 € and that’s where things get more interesting:

  • 1/1.3" sensor
  • 4K/60 HDR
  • 10-bit D-Log M
  • 42 GB internal storage
  • forward LiDAR
  • omnidirectional sensing
  • same 36 min / optional 52 min battery setup

That’s why I’m a bit confused by DJI’s segmentation right now.
Because once you look at the X1, it starts feeling less like "entry-level" and more like a cheaper version of what a Mini used to be.

Compared with the Neo 2, the difference seems clearer. Neo still feels like the more casual / social / beginner-first drone:

  • smaller and lighter feel
  • full prop guards
  • more of a "flying camera" vibe
  • lower-end camera
  • cheaper

So to me:

  • Neo = easiest / most casual
  • Lito = entry-level but still a proper camera drone
  • Mini = now moving more into premium compact territory

That’s also why I think the Lito series matters more than it seems at first glance. It feels like DJI is quietly saying that the old cheaper end of the Mini line is no longer really the Mini line.

The Mini 5 Pro is now way more expensive, so if someone wants a sub-250 foldable drone and doesn’t want to spend Mini 5 Pro money, I can easily see the Lito X1 becoming the obvious pick.

So overall my take is:

  • Lito 1 looks like a very strong replacement for the old budget Mini slot
  • Lito X1 looks like the value sweet spot
  • Mini feels like it’s drifting upscale
  • Neo still makes sense, but more as a different kind of product than a direct competitor

I added them here if anyone wants to compare the specs side by side:

I don't have an rc for my neo2 can I somehow use my goggles as an rc to active track?

Going to a friend's sand castle tournament and want to use the neo2 on him to get video but I don't have an rc, trying to find a workaround.

I don't think I can active track through the app

First edited video - editor recommendations for windows

Yesterday, the weather was so good, i grabbed my neo for the way to my work to take some shots. After that, I played around with the editor in the the dji app and was surprised how easy it is. Is there a tool for editing on the pc (windows) that is free and has similar functions + easy to handle?

tried everything, Neo 2 transceiver still won't connect to RC : still not working 😞

Tried everything suggested — closing DJI Fly completely, turning off phone WiFi, logging out and back into DJI account, refreshing the drone model in the app, and updating the RC firmware. Nothing worked.

Quick recap of my situation: I have a DJI Neo 2 that I was using with my phone. I bought the Digital FPV Transceiver separately to fly with the RC. The app detects the remote, shows the Switch popup, but every time I tap Switch it disconnects and falls back to phone control.

At this point I'm not sure if it's a defective transceiver or something specific about adding it to an already-activated Neo 2. Has anyone successfully added the transceiver to an existing Neo 2 setup? Any help appreciated! 🙏

Shooting Modes presets

Sorry if this is obvious and I missed it, but if I want to take out the drone and do the palm mode launch, there are four presets (follow, rocket, circle, and the 3 selfies.) I was wondering if it’s possible to adjust those presets, and to change the sub settings. I’d like one to be cycling follow, ideally at a far/high distance, but follow is set to flat at close distance unless I go into the phone app.

Would just love to be able to optimize the quickest launch for my needs as possible.

Neo 2 landed in the slums of Mumbai

I’m backpacking the world and picked up the Neo 2 in Singapore. I don’t have room in my backpack for the controller so I bought the drone only and use only my phone.

I flew it off a large volcanic hill in Mumbai, and it suddenly disconnected with 3 bars of connection. Instead of returning home, it hovered in the same spot and eventually ran out of battery and landed in the slums. I attempted to find it but it was a needle in a haystack situation. The footage is from findmydrone on the DJI app.

DJI Neo 2 for everyday life not just drones replacing phones for quick content

Hi everyone

I’ve been seeing a lot of clips about the DJI Neo 2 lately and what caught my attention is not really the usual drone stuff like cinematic shots or travel videos

It’s how people are starting to use it almost like a flying camera for everyday life

Like instead of pulling out your phone to record yourself walking or doing something outdoors you just launch the drone and let it follow you automatically

I’m curious if this is actually practical or just looks cool on social media

For example

Can it really replace your phone for quick content like short videos or reels
How accurate is the tracking especially in crowded areas
Is it something you can just casually use or is it still a hassle to set up every time
And how do people around you react when you use it in public

I’m also wondering if this is the future direction of content creation where instead of handheld cameras we move into more automated flying cameras

For those who already tried it or planning to get one

Is the DJI Neo 2 actually useful in real life or more of a hype gadget

Would love to hear real experiences before deciding if it’s worth it

Recommendation for a $750 drone.

I have about 750 and I want to buy a drone, but since this will be my first drone, I want to understand the flying dynamics better. What would you recommend?

Neo 2 is a tank

Crashed my Neo 2 into some wires, and it fell almost 5 meters on to concrete. Not a scratch. Freaking love this thing.

DJI Neo :: screenshots from DJI Fly app

Hi guys,

I'm looking for someone who owns a DJI Neo 2 drone with a DJI RC-N3 controller. I need screenshots from the DJI Fly app showing that you can manually set the shutter speed and ISO.

Thanks in advance

Is this normal gimbal movement after powering off?

First time ever owning a drone (it’s awesome). Did the noob mistake and “tested it” inside second day owning it (yes I know I know). Pressed RTH and flew slowllly into the ceiling and got stuck there for a few seconds.

I’m more than positive the gimbal always been tilted a bit since I’ve opened it. Whats concerning to me is that it does not tilt up or down when powering down. Is this normal behavior?
