Acceptance!!

Got accepted this morning which is so so exciting!!!
but I’m at a crossroads…I don’t have the $240 for the program fee currently and I’m trying to find temporary work to have enough for that first week of rent. It’s just overwhelming me because I’m local but I plan on living at flamingo crossings bc I don’t have my license so I can’t trust that I can commute. And Im scared thinking about how worth it is it to accept if majority of the paycheck goes to rent :( I knew all of this when I applied a few months back but now that I’m accepted and have less funds in my savings i’m getting cold feet.

Housing Concerns

I decided to go with living at FCV since I can't drive and would have access to the bus network. I learned something, though, that makes me feel nervous to live there. I requested gender-inclusive housing, but FCV said that it's very limited and that I could be housed with any gender. This wouldn't bother me as much if I wouldn't be sharing a room with someone else. It makes me feel unsafe knowing that I could be housed with anyone, regardless of the roommate's housing preferences. Could you imagine arriving and having the fact that your roommate is transgender revealed as a surprise? That is the situation I'm in, and I fear it could turn in to something very dangerous for me if they're not accepting of the transgender community. I don't want to move to Florida just to have to immediately move back because my roommate can't handle my gender identity. I would rather just stay where I am now. What can I do to make sure this isn't going to be a housing disaster?

College Program Graduate

Hi guys! I just graduated college and am doing the college program next month! Any June 8th arrivals that want to be friends?

Recast concern

I am a June 8th participant and got my role last week in children’s activities. This role is an absolute dream of mine. I have a lot of experience with kids and this role was in my top 3. However, I wanted to request medical accommodations and so I did it yesterday which I know is last minute to do less than a month before your program. My form was filled out efficiently with the help of my psychologist and I had an unexpected phone call from a recruiter today who wanted me to clarify things. I have a slower processing speed and have a hard time explaining what I need and my interaction with the recruiter was not that satisfactory. I was hoping to be prepared more for it and she has mentioned the possibility of a role change. I really don’t want this to occur as I feel like this role is one I’m the least bit worried about out of all of them. It would be ironic if I was placed anywhere else because then it would be harder for me. I sent the recruiter a follow up email emphasizing how much I love this role but I’m worried that they are going to recast me. How common is this and if they do when would I know?

Picking up shift question

Hey! So today I got an alpha called on me. So I only worked like maybe 15 minutes of my shift, and I’m probably gonna call out of my shift tomorrow and then I have two days off this week.

Bc I call out and got an alpha called on me, do you think I can pick up a shift or it won’t let me?

Character Attendant Training

I got my role as a character attendant and have learned many exciting things, however I’ve also learned training is apparently difficult? In my first role you couldn’t really fail training. What does character attendant training actually entail, how could you fail it? Is it actually difficult?

Am I / how do I access my CPR certification after doing Mickey's retreat?

Hi! My program ended this winter. I was a Children's Activities Cast Member and completed Mickey's Retreat. Am I CPR/BLS certified from that? If so, how do I access the certification? Thanks so much!

Just Got My Role!

Hello! I arrive on August 31st, but due to putting in accommodations, I got my role early. I will be a seater at the Plaza Restaurant in MK! I was in F&B during my last program, so I was hoping for something else, but oh well. Anyways, I was looking to see if anyone has any insight on what this role is like. Thanks!

what’s the pay like??

i know it’s depending on the role, the site said $18/hr
i’m just wondering what the checks will look like considering our housing costs are taken directly out of our checks

this information will help me determine what my life will look like for the next few months, if i should bring my car, and what type of rooming situation i choose and a few other things.

all help appreciated!

College Program Over

*ahem ahem is this thing on?*

Hi Reddit! I just ended my College Program a little over a month ago, I sadly had to term my program due to family life issues. I want to come back to the company, though. I believe I have been put on a no-rehire and am wondering if Disney would appeal it if I put in a request.

A little background.
I was working at ESPN in parking (believe it or not I loved it!!!). I asked my leaders in advance if I could leave early and they said they would ask our labor team but it was a yes. However, I never heard anything back after that from my leaders. They kept not responding to my emails and would avoid me. I had no choice but to leave, which is so sad.
I love the company and want to grow in it I want to come back.
My record card was rough but I was really sick so im hoping HR will understand...

If you have or know of anyone who's appealed your no rehire status please let me know how it went.

DO you all think I should try to appeal it since it wasnt my fault the leaders dropped the ball.
