More upscale dinner options in Destin

Hi, looking for some options for a nicer anniversary dinner this weekend in Destin. I will be wearing shorts and a nice shirt and she will be wearing a dress. Seagars interests me but I just don’t want to come underdressed. My Google searches say beachwear is acceptable pretty much anywhere but didn’t know if there was anywhere “too nice” for me.

Silver Shells or Hidden Dunes

Has anyone stayed in either of these resorts? How was your stay and would you stay again? Pros/Cons?

Help choosing resort

My wife and I will be taking our first family trip with our 6 month old over Memorial Day. We live in Nashville and my wife wants something that feels like a vacation before our big trip later in the summer, so we’re going to drive down there.

I’ve been to Destin several times on family trips, but she never has, and I’ve never had a baby to bring.

After a ton of Googling, I’ve narrowed it down to Sandestin, Tops’l, and Hidden Dunes. We’re really not into high rises but still want to be close enough to walk to the beach, so Tops’l gives us one of those two. Hidden Dunes, beach is walkable from the low rise condo units. Both look like they have good pools for the baby, which is where we’ll likely spend most of our aquatics time, but still want the beach accessible.

Sandestin, don’t even know where to start. I’m trying to figure out if each “area” has a pool or not, but the resort map sucks. I do like the older like duplexes and low rises, kind of reminds me of our trips in the 90s, but don’t love the idea of taking a tram everywhere, particularly with a bunch of stuff for the beach.

Also, the baby goes to bed around 7:30 so we’re usually calling it a day by 5pm. We don’t care much to be around a lot of activities or nightlife, more quiet and room to spread out.

Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!

Going to be in Destin for a week in May. Would it be worth taking a pole? Didnt know how many lakes were easily accessible.

Photographers

Hello! Any recommendations for a beach photographer? We are coming with 10 kids and 8 adults the last week of May. I’ve done some searching myself but I want to ensure I find someone flexible and laid back that is very child friendly. TIA!

I can't make friends here.

I (16m) moved down here from California abt a year and a half ago. I knew so many cool people in Cali and had so many friends but I've been here for a while and can barely find anyone to hang out with. I found like literally one person.

Me and him go to sandestin and skateboard and bike on Saturdays and I was just wondering if there's anyone my age in this sub who could tag along sometime. We've been looking for other ppl FOREVER and can barely find anyone cool or interesting let alone teenagers at all.

Any advice y'all? Ik there's prolly no one my age in this sub lol and I'm like the only one but still, anyone got any tips?

EDIT: Should have said this before but I'm goth so like, that's why I can't find anyone. everyone here is into fishing and stuff and there's not many goth ppl. im not rly specifically looking for goth ppl cuz that's too rare here lol, but just looking for ppl who wouldn't mind hanging around someone like that. sadly a lot of ppl here don't look too kindly on ppl like me since it's mostly a conservative area

Best Seafood Options

Hello everyone, on vacation with 2 of our family friends and their kids and wondering best seafood place around town. We came down from Knoxville. We want to go to a place that’s best in town and if anyone has recommendations for seafood buffets(with crab legs as an option) so we can cure the itch of crab legs before heading home. Any and all recommendations are appreciated, thank you!
