Or if i want to render 24/7 should I buy 2 separate computers, 1 for rendering and 1 for gaming.

My plan was to buy 1 very powerful computer to do it all, but I don't know if this would be the best choice compared to splitting the money and buying 2 computers. I can afford a $4,000 PC. so my options are

1 $4,000 PC

or 2 $2,000 computers.

I'm just a simple hobbyist, using DAZ basically just as the very advanced Sims/Barbie doll dress up game that it is. But I do wonder what DAZ Studio is actually used for in the professional space, if anything? You know, outside of metric tons of pornography, lifeless pin-ups, and general hobbyist scene building.

I can't really imagine it being used in any professional pipeline. The interface sucks major ass, nobody who appreciates their sanity would ever try to actually animate a movie or something inside DAZ, and the quality of the characters it produces out of the box are 'meh' at best, requiring a lot of enhancement in external software to produce anything even remotely unique.

Anyone have some insight?

Why is kissing so difficult to pull off?!

As the title says, I have the hardest time with kissing poses. Sometimes they work but I always nitpick little details.

Render is some Uncharted canon/OC stuff I'm doing.

I want to render more than one scene at a time without having to constantly go down to my PC, anyone know a good one? I saw Daz Premier has a Render Queue but didn’t want to spend what they’re asking for it

For this single room with mirrors, it took 15 minutes to render at 1080P on my computer, this is with 6GB of VRAM, and a laptop version RTX 4050, I have 16GB of DDR4 Ram, Daz3d was the only thing running.

In this second picture, here was me taking the rendered picture and using it as a backdrop, the render time for this was 1 second, but if I add characters the lighting won't match what it should look like, so I don't know how using a background can work for this. And also the background doesn't give the effect it would have like mirrors. If I tried to render this single image on a render farm how long it would take if it took me 15 minutes?

Hello, I wanted to start using Daz3D for my projects but for now I only have a laptop with nvidia 4050, Ryzen 7735HS and 16 gigs of ram.

Can I get good renders with it in reasonable amount of time or should I just give up and start saving money for it?

Thanks!

I’ve got a few RenderHub Genesis 9 morphs that come with their own skin textures, but for my DAZ VN I’m trying to stick to original DAZ Genesis 9 character textures for consistency.

So far, I’ve been applying DAZ Genesis 9 textures to these morphs and everything looks fine — no obvious stretching, lighting issues, or seams. Nothing weird stands out at first glance.

That said, I’m wondering if I’m missing anything subtle that might show up later (especially in close-ups or animations).

For people who’ve worked with Genesis 9 specifically:

  • Are there any common issues that don’t show up immediately?
  • Anything specific I should be checking (UVs, normals, SSS, etc.)?
  • Does this tend to break under certain lighting or expressions?

Just trying to avoid running into problems halfway through production.

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for some beginner-friendly tutorials for Daz3D. I have some Blender experience, so I’m not completely new to 3D and I know some of the basic jargon.

I’d like to learn how to create high-poly characters, animations, and backgrounds, and I’m wondering where I can find good, up to date tutorials that you’d recommend.

Thanks!

When will DazStudio be updated for macOS Silicon?
The next big update of macOS will not be able to run intel based apps.

Hi everyone! I'm trying to identify the character/morph used in this render (or at least find similar assets to recreate this look - Prominent lips, defined nose, large almond-shaped eyes).

Any help identifying the character or recommendations for similar morphs would be hugely appreciated! The eyes, nose, lips and jaw are just 🤌
