ABS/Steering

I have a 1996 Lincoln town car signature series. For over a year since I got the car the abs has always been a little awkward especially in the steering. If I oversteer, my wheel will lock on itself and spin back into place, making a grinding sound under my foot on the brakes due to the pump and the computer fighting itself. Has anyone experienced this issue? And if you have, how did you fix it?🥲

2000 Mercury Grand Marquis - Worth buying?

Went and seen a 2000 Marquis, 210,343 miles on the odometer.

Ran fine, fluids were alright, but was missing half of the exhaust, so it didn't really have power. Rust on the underside looked alright except the driver fender.

Basically I'm asking if this is worth taking on, they're asking 1500, but the guy said 1300 is alright. Exterior is overall pretty rough, paint chips, etc, rear trunk latch falling off. Couldn't find any service history on paper, I may run the vin later to check. Also, I ran a scanner and like 8 codes popped up 😭

Hey need help choosing a spoiler

Hey need help choosing a spoiler, there’s the marauder spoiler but I feel conflicted with that I just feel there’s too much going on with the rear compared to a Vic with the the fake tail lights in the middle with the chrome bar it feels squished. I’ve also considered a S197 GT500 Wing. Also considering going with spoiler kings ducktail along with the roof spoiler what do y’all think is best? Thanks!

Looking for thermo-acoustic / moisture resistant barrier recommendations

Hi all, I recently finished grinding, welding, and repainting this floor pan to repair water damage and holes made by the previous owner (who was a little overzealous with self-tappers.) The original felt/fabric under-layer was toast so I got rid of it, and I want to replace it with something better. I'm looking at 4mm Siless or Kilmat for a good thermo-acoustic layer under the vinyl floor liner. Does anyone have experience with those brands, that can tell me if one is better than the other, or if I should look into something else entirely, OR add something in addition to the thermo-acoustic layer for moisture prevention? Thank you in advance!

Advice

Hey ya I got a question? I took the vic to the shop the other day to have it looked at . To find out what this clunking noise was well I almost shit myself at the bill . They didn't charge me for checking it out for me but well one of the issues they found was . That I needed a new valve cover gasket replace .. but the thing was i had that replaced last year ? I did notice that some of the seals where they bolts were .was not fitted properly idk if it has always been like that or not . I always thought the bolts supposed to be even on the seals ? I dont know if im right or wrong if that matters or not. But they also told me I needed two lower ball joints and two upper control arms and stabilizer bar control link and a engine oil cooler lines ?

I really dont have the money to replace everything atm . The most i can do is the ball joints and control arms and sway bar links ?

What your opinion? Cause im taking it to get it fix next week cause a guy i know told me that if I want he can look at it and go from there. But idk also it has 237 k miles on it

Tires.

Hey guys I did a search and couldn't find any recent posts. Looking for tire recommendations for a 04 Lincoln town car with all p71 suspension. I drive this car pretty aggressively on my way home in the middle of the night. I was leaning towards general as07s. Is there any better options? I hear mixed reviews about "pursuit tires" or Goodyear eagles etc. moneys not really a issue just want a good 235 55 17 for daily driving and the occasional high speed run or fast cornering. Not to worried about winter performance I have 2 snow tires on dedicated steelies for the winter. Thanks for any input or recommendations

no title , is it worth it ? 900$ though

found this 2001 mercury because i was looking for another vic but the owner said the OG owner is in jail and he couldn’t get titles switched over so he gave me the VIN number and it said it was damaged in 2018 but he said he’ll do me 900 for it , was originally 1K .. i’m jus thinking how hard could it be to get another title or a salvage title .. everything runs fines just window regulator on the passenger side … is it a steal ?? or drop

External Relay Harness

Hello! Does anyone know where I can get a good External Relay Harness for my 02 Mercury Grand Marquis? I am not sure if there are any differences between the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis due to the cornering lamps. Where would I be able to find one for sale? I can't find one!

Can I twist these?

So I finally went to install my front struts on the 04 and both sides seem twisted?? Is there a way to twist them or is this defective parts? I already lined up the top 3 bolts and finger tightened them and now I'm trying to put in the bottom bolt it doesn't line up.

Struts and springs for 09 CVPI?

My 09 CVPI is currently sitting at 165k miles and could use some suspension work. It seems like genuine Motorcraft strut assemblies and rear springs, as well as aftermarket PI spec rear springs are practically unavailable now. So I'm considering going with civilian spec parts.

Looking at dropping a little extra coin on KYB SR4140 front struts as Monroe, FCS, Gabriel, etc seem to have nosedived in quality. And I'm looking for rear springs to match. I see a lot of people running Moog CC865 variable rate rear coils, but I'm wanting that firm, planted ride I'm used to, and I run 200ish pounds of sand or gravel in the trunk in the winter. It looks like the constant rate Moogs are part number 81479.

Anyone able to tell me if this will be a good match for ride height and firmness? Any other suggestions, or places to look for quality PI spec parts?

Much appreciated!

Crank, No Start

My serpentine belt started fraying and sent debris around for a bit before I was able to pull over. Replaced the belt, but discovered these two connectors on the right disconnected and broken. Now the car cranks, but will not turn over.

Anything I should check, or should I assume the problem is electrical and get a tow truck on the line?

Original barkes and pads from Ford finally changed out.

They lasted 95k miles. 1998 Crown Vic. The last ~15k I drove with a slight grinding on the passenger side until my funds improved.

I forgot to take a pic, but the pads and the fuel filter still had the Fomoco sign on them.
