🏏 Cricket Career Simulator v1.0 Beta — Play it now!

Hey everyone! I've been working on a browser-based cricket career simulation game and I'm excited to share the first public beta. It's completely free, runs in your browser, no downloads, no sign-ups.

What is it?

You create a player, start from school cricket, and grind your way through club → district → domestic → franchise (IPL/BBL/CPL/BPL) → national team → international legend. Every match, every run, every decision matters.

It's NOT a clicker game. There's actual strategy, risk management, and realistic cricket mechanics.

🎮 Features (yes, all of these are in the game right now):

Core Gameplay:

Turn-based T20 match simulation with realistic probability engine

3 batting styles — Defensive 🛡️ / Balanced ⚖️ / Aggressive 🔥 — each with real risk/reward tradeoffs

Set Meter — you can't just walk in and smash sixes. You need to get your eye in first, just like real cricket

Fatigue system — batting 50+ balls tires you out. Fitness stat matters

Bowler types — pace 💨 and spin 🌀 bowlers bowl full overs (not random per ball). Pitch conditions interact with bowler type

Powerplay, middle overs, death overs — each phase plays differently

6 pitch conditions — Batting Paradise, Green Top, Turning Track, etc. Each changes the game

Strike rotation, partnerships, real commentary system

Batting Order System:

Choose Top Order (1-3), Middle Order (4-5), or Lower Order/Finisher (6-7) at career start

Each has different starting stats and playstyle

Top order needs runs & average. Finishers need strike rate

If you bat at #5, AI batsmen go first — you walk in mid-innings with the score already set

Career Progression:

Season-based progression — 10 to 20 matches per season depending on level

Meet promotion targets (runs, average, or strike rate based on your batting order) to level up

Fail? Stay at the same level and grind another season

Scouting & recruitment cutscenes when you get promoted — a new team picks you up with a contract offer

At franchise level, multiple IPL/BBL teams bid for you with different salaries

Real Teams & Players:

Lower levels: Indian school/club/district/domestic teams with randomly generated Indian player names

Franchise level: Real IPL, BBL, CPL, BPL teams with real player rosters as your teammates

International: India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, NZ, WI, SL, BAN, AFG — all with real squads

Your AI batting partners are actual players from these teams

Systems that make it addictive:

🔥❄️ Form Streaks — 3 good scores = Hot Streak (stat boost). 3 bad scores = Cold Streak (stat penalty)

🏅 Player of the Match awards with bonus rewards

📰 News Headlines generated after every match based on your performance

📉 Getting Dropped — 3 poor scores in a row and you lose your spot for 2 matches

🤕 Injury System — random injuries that force you to miss matches. Lower fitness = higher injury chance

🏆 27 Achievements — from "Off the Mark" to "Living Legend"

📊 Career Records — fastest fifty, best season, career timeline

Economy & Upgrades:

🛍️ 33 equipment items across 8 categories (bats, gloves, helmets, shoes, fitness kits, accessories) — from ₹60 Kashmir Willow Bat to ₹6000 Signature Edition

👨‍🏫 Hire specialist coaches for temporary stat boosts

💰 Match salary that increases with each level

📄 Franchise contracts — teams offer you different salary tiers based on your reputation

Endgame:

🎤 Retirement — when you're ready, retire and see your complete career summary

🏛️ Hall of Fame — every retired career is saved to a local leaderboard. Can you beat your best?

Full career timeline showing every season, every team, every stat

Quality of Life:

💾 Save/Load anytime

⚡ Simulate rest of innings when you get out

⌨️ Spacebar shortcut for next ball

🔊 Sound effects — crowd cheers on boundaries, gasps on wickets

📖 How to Play guide built right in

📱 Fully responsive — works on mobile and desktop

🎬 Intro story with club selection when you start a new career

🚧 What's coming in future updates (v1.1+)

This is v1.0 Beta — Batsman Only. Currently you can only play as a batsman. Here's what's planned:

🎯 Bowler Role — play as a bowler with line/length choices, different bowling types (pace/spin/swing), wicket-taking mechanics

⚖️ All-Rounder Role — bat AND bowl in the same match. Genuine all-round career

🏏 ODI & Test formats — unlock longer formats at higher career levels

🏟️ More detailed match engine — fielding positions, DRS, run-outs, extras

📊 Visual stat graphs — line charts showing career progression over time

🐛 Known Issues / Feedback Welcome

This is a beta! If you find any bugs, balance issues, or have feature suggestions, I'd love to hear them. The difficulty has been extensively playtested but I'm always tweaking.

Things I'm particularly looking for feedback on:

Is the difficulty balanced? Too easy/hard at any specific level?

Are the promotion targets fair for each batting order?

Any UI/UX improvements you'd suggest?

What feature would you most want to see next?

5 Days to go until official trailer!

Excited to share the trailer with you all in 5 days time.

I’m pretty pleased with it. Please do take into account that I am making improvements every day.

This is the first release of hopefully a successful game franchise. If you want to see something grow over the next few years and see massive updates and upgrades then this could be for you!

As always, I’m all ears. If you do have any feedback come trailer/game release, good or bad, I want to hear it and act on it!

*repost* I’ve been working on a browser-based Cricket Career Simulator where you start from school cricket and try to become an international legend.

You create a player, pick your batting role, and progress through club → district → domestic → franchise cricket → national team. The whole thing is playable in browser with no download.

The main thing I wanted was for it to actually feel like cricket instead of just clicking buttons randomly. You need to build your innings, manage risk, adapt to pitch conditions, survive tough spells, deal with form streaks/injuries, and earn promotions season by season.

A few things currently in the game:

  • Ball-by-ball match engine
  • Different batting styles & risk system
  • Dynamic commentary
  • Real franchise/international teams at higher levels
  • Career progression & contracts
  • Auction system
  • Injuries, form streaks, achievements
  • Equipment/coaches/upgrades
  • Retirement + Hall of Fame system

Recently added:

  • Animated TV-style scorecard
  • Fan following/social media progression
  • Endorsement deals
  • Match highlight moments after games
  • Dynamic difficulty adjustments

It’s still in beta and currently batsman-only, but bowling/all-rounder careers and longer formats are planned next.

Would genuinely love feedback from cricket fans on balancing, realism, difficulty, or ideas.

(Will put the game link in comments once the post gets approved)

Why has Cricket never had its Football Manager equivalent?

I’m building a cricket management game for mobile devices and would love some honest feedback from cricket fans.

I’ve always enjoyed cricket games, but I’ve wanted something that goes deeper into actually running a club over multiple seasons. Not just playing match after match, but making the decisions around the team: selection, tactics, form, finances, squad building, facilities, board expectations, sponsorships, and long-term progression.

The closest thing I played was Cricket Captain, but I always wanted more of the club-management side. Taking a team from the lower divisions up to the top, dealing with off-field pressure, building a squad over time, and making match-day decisions that actually matter.

The current idea is:

- Take a club from Division 4 to Division 1

- Manage domestic-style leagues in different countries

- Play a global league mode with clubs from multiple countries

- Handle selection, tactics, conditions, form, transfers, wages, sponsors, facilities and board pressure

- Make match-day decisions around XI selection, batting intent, bowling changes, pitch/weather and tactical risk

Would this kind of cricket game interest you?

And if so, what would matter most to you?

- Realistic match engine

- Deep tactics

- Player development

- Transfers and squad building

- Club finances

- Youth/regens

- Animations and presentation

- Domestic/franchise/international structures

Also, what would instantly ruin the realism for you?

I’m currently beta testing and mainly trying to gauge interest/get feedback before sharing it more widely. If people are interested, I can share a testing link later once it’s more polished and if the subreddit allows it.

Anyone interested in teaming up to build a simulator game together?

Hey everyone,

I’m a full-stack developer who loves deep simulation and management-style games, and I’ve been wanting to build one with someone equally passionate about game design and gameplay systems.

I’m mainly looking for a friendly collaboration with people who enjoy discussing mechanics, balancing, progression, player psychology, and turning ideas into something fun and immersive.

Not treating this like a formal job post or studio hiring thing — just looking for creative people who genuinely enjoy building games and want to team up on something ambitious over time.

If that sounds like your thing, feel free to DM or comment 🙂

Guys, i made a fun little cricket game.

https://inoroutcricket.online/

Try it out yourself, share with you friends and give me really sweet or harsh feedback.

It's the same old game I used to play with my friends when I was a kid.

Used our hands, picked a number from 1 to 6.if the numbers were different it would be the same number runs to the batmen or if it's the same, then a wicket.try it out guys.

Need guide+suggestion for weaker teams

Ive gotten really addicted to his game, but some of the systems dont make any sense to me. When i pick the weaker teams like Zim,Ban,Afg it feels like i can never improve or 1 step im ahead and the next in completely fucked. When i pick high performing players from local leagues it feels like they can never get used to internationals.I wonder if there is no proper system for weak ones to begin with.

Test cricket unplayable at times on CC25

Has anyone else found in certain test series it's impossible to beat the AI no matter what you do?

I do have some series where my team (England) performs better than expected and I do win series. I always seem to win against Australia and sometimes against India.

However, when I play Pakistan or South Africa at home, I can barely win a test. It almost feels like I'm playing as an associate team against a test nation. They regularly pile up 550+ in their first innings and then the pitch appears to become a minefield as soon as my team bats. Even putting the batsmen on defensive settings has no effect- they're sitting ducks.

Dismissing the tail of the opposition is a nightmare as well.

It's definitely the most random and unpredictable edition of the game ever in my opinion. I never know what I'm going to get from one series to the next.
