I trimmed down before, this is what I have left.
Oldest: One Star from 1994.
Four or five are made in USA.
1.5 pairs need to be tossed cause the rubber is hard and rotten. One of the hi tops with stars is completely hard and solid, the other is totally fine. Strange.
Only worn in summer on rotation, cleaned then out back into their box. Bought in 2009.
I have similar ones by Superdry that are actually more comfortable but I prefer the colour of these.
I thank the Shoe Gods , that I found a Brand New pair of this 16 Year old Collaboration____these "Convertible" shoes with Tongue Gussets to lace through, are like Two Amazing pairs of Shoes in One
The first thing that fails on just about every pair of Chucks I've ever owned is the lining in the heel. So I decided to try to make my own heel patch since the adhesive ones I used to get on Amazon always come off after a few wears. I got a 1mm thick piece of leather to cut out my own that I glued in with E6000 glue. So far, so good. These are new Throwbacks ingot recently so there's no holes yet but I'm doing it as a preventative. Let's see how long it holds up.
It really looks like they are wearing the all-black Chuck Taylor converse, but I’m not sure?
For some time now, I’ve been piecing together many of my favorite Rick Owens x Converse pairs, hoping to eventually complete the collection. My main goal is to collect all of the TURBODRKs, there’s just something about them that has always resonated with me. Their design feels bold, unconventional, and uniquely expressive in a way that really aligns with my personal style.
I switched to blue laces from my Chuck 2's to add some color.
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to pick between these three Converse options and could use some opinions:
Chuck Taylor All Star Malden Street Mid Top (black/white)
Chuck Taylor All Star Malden Street Low Top (black/white)
Jack Purcell Canvas Low Top (black)
I’m looking for something that:
- Works for everyday use (jeans, joggers, casual wear)
- Looks stylish but not over-the-top
From what I see:
- Mid tops look more stylish / streetwear vibe
- Low tops seem more comfortable and safe
- Jack Purcell looks cleaner and more mature
If you had to pick ONE, what would you go for and why?
Also curious about:
- Comfort for long walking days
- Durability over time
- Which one ages better
Thanks in advance!
Came across this old Converse Commercial. No idea how long ago it was on.
I can't find another pair of these. i want to buy a new one because I've been using it since 2015 and my pair is really worn out
