Hi everyone! 👋

I'm using system-wide ControlD set up through their Setup Utility. I disabled Firefox DoH in browser (in settings it's set to Off, and in about:config trr.mode to 5). Yet, every time I visit DNS leak tests, I get ControlD and Cloudflare DNS.

When testing in Brave (with Secure DNS disabled), I only see ControlD servers.

How can I effectively stop Firefox from leaking Cloudflare DNS? It's been driving me nuts.

Just moved from NordVPN to Windscribe and evaluating ControlD. I see Windscribe includes R.O.B.E.R.T. but, I was keen to know if we can use ControlD with it simultaneously. I think the answer to that is yes (need to explore though). But, I was wondering whether using it simultaneously will reduce anonymity?

Been going on all weekend. Latency looks good, but something is up. Websites take forever to resolve and load. Tried multiple connections (home/work/5G) and if ControlD is enabled its really slow, if I switch to another resolver on any connection things load instantly.

I've got a case open but my latency numbers look fine so not sure its going to go anywhere.

Is there any difference between downloading the profile or installing the app to configure control d on iOS?

What is the best option?

1 - DOWNLOAD THE PROFILE

2 - INSTALL THE APP CONTROL D

??

Is there an API endpoint that returns categories for a domain? Dragonfly hasn’t been very reliable, so I’ve been relying on DNS behavior instead.

Right now, I check a domain through DNS—if it gets blocked, I mark it as blocked; if it resolves successfully, I mark it as allowed.

Control D raised their prices by 50%

I was checking out Control D’s pricing page (https://controld.com/plans?step=plans) and noticed they recently increased their prices.

The cost for Some Control went up from $20 to $30 per year, and the Full Control plan jumped from $40 to $60 per year. That’s a hefty 50% price increase across the board.

Has anyone else noticed this or decided if it’s still worth it?

Right now all .de domains that have DNSSEC signatures are down.

I went to my profile on ControlD and enabled the "Disable DNSSEC" option. The documentation leads me to believe this will stop validating DNSSEC so .de domains should work again.

However, that didn't work. .de domains still come up with SERVFAIL.

If I turn ControlD off on my phone and go through my mobile network's own DNS resolver that doesn't validate DNSSEC, .de pages open up fine.

Is this a known bug?
