Before I Throw These Out… Are Any of These Comics Collectible?

Apologies if this isn’t the right place to ask this, I’m not too Reddit savvy but a friend recommended checking on Reddit to see if anyone could give me some advice on whether to keep, sell or toss these.

I’ve going through and cleaning out my storage and I found some comics that my ex had (we dated from like 2014-2016 so I imagine the comics are from around there in release dates). I tried my best to organize them by other with the same name, but ngl I don’t know anything about comics and I was pretty confused with a few of the sets having different covers for multiple numbers (Silk, Spider-Gwen, Ms Marvel, Hawkeye, I think were the main offenders for this). I did google and saw that variant covers are a thing and possibly the ones with some valuable but only some of the ones with different covers were labeled variant. Also some of them seem to be bigger proper books and not the small paper ones if that makes a difference?

Genuinely I was planning just tossing all of these out since I don’t know the first thing about selling them (I assume eBay or Mercari or is there a dedicated place for these). But if there’s anything worth holding onto as it might have future value or even stuff I should see about selling now please I’d appreciate advice.

And apologies again if this isn’t the right place for me to come to with these questions. If there’s a better Reddit for questions like this please feel free to direct me that way!

EDIT: a lot of people have mentioned donating and after sleeping on it I do have a four year old nephew but I thought the comics might be a bit too violent for him. (Like the Deadpool for example, I know that movie was rated R). Any recommendations on which ones that aren’t worth reselling on eBay, but are appropriate enough for a young kid would also be appreciated.

What to do?

Not a comic collector. I'm more MTG. Came into a bunch of 80s comics where they seem to be worth a fortune but they are really not. But also there's a couple really old shit like this and some spidermans issues less than 20. Should I just frame and enjoy or is there any value in this? Comic store offered me 50 which ill just keep instead of that.

Which of these is the better deal or would you prefer? Both are Hulk #180s, White Pages CGC 9.0. The left sold for $1148?, the right for $1342?

Cert on the left: 3715094002. Cert on the right: 4345266002. (EDIT) To clarify: The books differ. Different visual presentation, different flaws. Basically, if one is aesthetically or otherwise a nicer book, does that justify the $200 price difference? Just trying to get a sense of everyone opinion on something like this.

Worth Grading?

I’m pretty sure this is a first print (bought it new from Facebook awhile ago). Is sending it in worthwhile or is it just hype. Also I think the condition is NM since I’ve never read it. Thanks for any input!

Jim Lee signature?

Does this look like a legit Jim Lee signature?

Thanks as always!

EDIT: Thanks again for checking it out! Consensus here seems to be it's an older, legit signature from ~1990

I’m not the first to love BW’s artwork. After hunting for a copy at several shows I finally won this is an auction. I’m thrilled to finally have it in my PC. Presents really great except for the damage in the bottom right corner and along the right side of the cover. The colors really pop.

Closet find

The wife finally gave me permission to clean out my oldest son's closet. Yes he left 8 years ago for college and now works in another city. I don't think the storage bin has been opened for 15 years. I even found some I bought in the 80s and stored. Sadly they eventually lost interest and moved to video games.

Totally forget him and his brother had these comics. Most like the ones in the pictures have never been opened or read.

At least I have them organized now.. on to all the old video games and systems.

Just bought a very clean copy of Secret Wars #8 on eBay for $190. This copy looks like it needs a press. I’m getting a lot of raw's mostly to do a big CGC submission and maybe get some 9.8s 🤣. Even if this gets a CGC 9.6, it's still a $400 book, but comment what grade you think this copy would get.🤔

I don’t really have any experience with valuing anything in my collection. I know this is not a newsstand edition, but it is still sealed in the polybag, and I believe a first printing

Comic collection gifted to me what do I do?

Hello, I just got this large amount of comic books and don’t know what I should do? Some have large values and I don’t really know how to go about selling them. Any help out there?

It’s a non-stop stream of retailers claiming books are worth 50% more than they are and up.

It’s really disappointing.

Completely taking advantage of the short timeframes. As bad, if not worse, than anyone on home shopping network.

Does anyone know if these are worth anything?

Around 2 years ago my dads friends (who happens to be famous if that adds any value) gave me these comics and although I’ve never thought of selling them I’ve always wondered how much they’d be worth. They’re all in basically perfect condition (i now know they’re bad condition!) by my standards but I’m not that big into comic collecting so I wouldn’t know

My latest pick ups from my LCS

The LCS I’ve been going to for the last few months has never disappointed me. There’s always plenty of cool wall books and the prices are so fair. I had to pace myself this time around because I am saving up for a comic con I plan to attend in June. I walked in with $200 and ended up spending exactly that. Proud that I didn’t go over budget this time lol. Anyways, I’ve been continuing to fill in my ASM run 1-300 and these are some of the issues that really caught my eye and that I’ve been chasing in 2026. I’m really happy with how they present and with the overall cover condition and page quality. The LCS graded them each as F/VF and I paid FMV (if their grading is accurate which I do believe it is) on them so couldn’t be happier! Hope you guys enjoy :)
