Moving there next month and looking into forest acres area. I am a 38m and have an old dog. Left leaning world views, and I love cycling, great food and games. My girlfriend lives in Charlotte so we will be making the commute several times a month. Any recommendations on where to live? It looks like the greenway is a little confusing to traverse, but I am a bit of an idiot so its probably that.

I am black so I would like recommendation for an OB that black women have worked with and had a great experience. I have also decided that Lexington Medical will probably be where I want to deliver so it would be great if the recommendation would be within that network. Still open to all suggestions though!

Hey all, I’m getting divorced and have been struggling to find a house in Charleston in my price range, despite having equity from my current home. I’ve been contracting in cola a few days a month and have the opportunity to take something full time there. Anyone else made the move from Charleston to cola lately and have feedback? As much as I don’t want to uproot my kids, I’m trying to weigh quality of life. I don’t want to be house poor in Charleston and not be able to give my kids the experiences I want to, or commute an hour each way just to be able to afford to stay here. Looking for info on lex 1 and other school districts in the area.

Looking for a tattoo studio that would do well with some video game inspired tattoos. Think summons from Final Fantasy, Master sword and Hylian Shield, that sort of thing. Obviously I don't want cheap (one of these is actually to cover a cheap tattoo) but I also don't want to sacrifice a goat to be able to afford something. Any studios or specific artist recommendations are appreciated!

I'm from the Northeast and will be moving to Columbia very shortly (as in... a few weeks)! I've been reading up as much as I could before making this post, so I apologize if this thread is redundant.

I am moving in with my smaller dog, looking for 1 bed/1 bath under $1,500. I've looked at my options in the safer/more highly recommended parts of Columbia, but apartments in those areas are either too expensive or the apartment complexes have very strong, negative reviews.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend apartment complexes that have better reputations and are in safer parts of the area? I'm not so much concerned about walkability or proximity to stores. I'm prioritizing safer areas as it's just me and my dog.

For context, I’ve had NYC Los Tacos No 1 and San Antonio Taquitos West Ave; these locations have set the bar so high. I know the quality in Columbia, SC most likely won’t be on par with the locations i listed in other states but I wanted to try and inquire reddit if anyone might know a lowkey spot I haven’t tried yet.

So far I’ve had: Real Mexico, Taqueria La Poblanita, La Cienega, Tacos Nayarit, Authentico Sabor Latino, Taqueria Jalisco, the truck in front of Rumba club on decker, and Tacos El Puebla.

These locations are good but theyre not knocking me off my feet like los tacos or taquitos west. Should I give up on my search or does anyone know a godsend location in Columbia?

Since it's practically summertime, I was wondering if Lake Murray is a good place to go to at night. Im not a big fan of the heat and am more a night-time person so going there at night would be idle. Is it a good spot to star gaze and chill for a bit with friends?

Best place to get a Ribeye in town? My friend will be in town for his birthday and I want a recommendation for the best ribeye. Anywhere but Hall’s Chophouse. I really dislike that place.

We recently adopted a 2 year old pomchi and she could definitely benefit from some obedience training. Any suggestions for good obedience classes in the area? Bonus points if they're in West Columbia but really anywhere other than NE Columbia works for us.
