Full story:

In April 2021, the China Coast Guard Donghai(east sea) branch recieved intel from nearby customs district anti smuggling bureaus and local police of a cigarette smuggling operation;

the CCG 1st and 2nd Bureau(both under donghai branch) then sent four cutters in two task forces on the afternoon April 25, 2021:

1st task force:

• 3000 tonne class electronic cutter Yushan(渔山, 2302, Ex-2306) of the 2nd bureau
• Type 053H2G frigate/cutter Yuhuan(玉环, 2203, Ex-31241), Formerly Huaibei(淮北, 541) in the navy; of the 2nd bureau

2nd task force:

• Type 718 cutter Huyu(虎屿, 1105), Ex-Pudong(浦东, 31101, 1001); of the 1st bureau
• Type 718G(aka 718B, 718 mod) cutter Liuheng(六横, 2204, Ex-33111); of the 2nd bureau

On 17:00, April 26, the 1st task force located the first smuggling vessel; after a brief chase along with deployment of water cannons, coastguardsmen soon boarded and seized the smuggling vessel;

At the same time, the 2nd task force located the remaining two smuggling vessels; the first of the two was quickly intercepted and siezed, though the second one attempted to escape though Liuheng quickly intercepted and seized it.

In total, the following were seized:

• 19 suspects were arrested
• 3 smuggling vessels
• 2.36 million cigarettes
• 45,000 tonnes of shag tobacco
• 9600 bottles of maotai wine

At the time, this was the largest cigarette and alcohol bust in china, a title which as far as i know is still held to this day.
