r/Challenger

Brand new (to me lol)
Bought this cash at the dealership the other day, always wanted a challenger and I'm super excited. Manual and only 23k miles on it, other than a lil grinding when first gear grabs the clutch she seems to be in fantastic shape (is this forshadowing? lol). Thinking about getting some bigger tires if the wheels can hold them, I'd also love to drop it but coilovers and air are too expensive right now.
New exhaust, weird behavior sometimes keep RPMs stuck at 2000.
Couldn't find much help online. Just had the MBRP Armor Lite Street Catback installed at a reputable exhaust shop. They transfered the Active Exhaust Valve Actuators from the stock exhaust to the new Catback. I also bought separate quad tips by Netami if that matters.
After Installation, the tech was wanting to hear it rumble just a little bit, but my revs were stuck at 2000 rpm.
After about a minute the exhaust opened up and it was totally fine. I then put 100 miles on the new catback with some easy driving and after that, it was glorious.
Problem is I had to re adjust the tips a little better and now I'm back to the rpm thing. Again, after a minute it's fine. Anything I should know about? I didn't get a tune but all I'm looking for is the sound. I plan to tune it later if I have to.
My friend left me his Challenger Demon 170 for a month and I'm too scared to drive it
I need to get this off my chest because I can't tell my friend and it's killing me.
So a month ago my buddy flies to Europe for vacation and goes "hey man, can you keep the Demon at your place? Don't let her sit, take her out once in a while, keep the juices flowing." Cool. Sure. How hard can it be.
What he failed to mention is that this thing has been modded on top of the already insane factory 1025hp. I don't even know the exact number now and honestly I don't want to know. The car physically intimidates me every time I walk into the garage.
I've driven it exactly 3 times in a month. Dry days only. Drove it like someone's grandpa- smooth inputs, 40mph max, both hands on the wheel. Because the ONE time it was slightly damp outside I gave it a tiny bit of throttle pulling out of a parking lot and I swear the rear end just... suggested it was about to do something catastrophic. I backed off so fast.
So He's flying back next week but going directly home to Nashville - and I'm in Charlotte. That's about 400 miles. Can't come pick it up himself, work starts the morning after he lands. Classic.
Weighing my options:
1 Drive it there myself. Which... in theory fine, except what if it rains?
2 Ship it. Been looking at enclosed carrier obviously because I'm not putting his Demon on an open trailer, and honestly at this point I'm ready to just pay for it. Peace of mind has a price and I've found mine.
Any tips for how to drive this, or is shipping just the easier call here?
Ouch. How doable to fix perfectly by a pro?
Tree branches fell onto my steed. Worst of it is this dent right on the damn crease line. How hard to fix perfectly by a pro? Stings like hell
Coolant...coolant everywhere
first major repair in the 3 years ive had it
Custom License Plate
In my state, you’re only given one plate, for the back. So for the front of my car… I did a thing 😉💚 1 of 6 refers to my car’s specific build. It’s loaded with all possible packages, from interior color to sound system to technology packages, so when I bought it I emailed FCA (at the time) customer support, gave them my vin, and found out only five other cars were built exactly like mine. So it’s not like a super rare special edition or anything, but it’s still fun to say!
RCKYBBY if you see that on a licence plate what do you think it is?
Want custom plates. Initially thought WHEEEEE would be fun, but this would be my cars name.
