Is Cerritos walkable? Allow for car-lite living?

Cerritos was recently recommended to me as a place to consider for my family, given the high quality schools and the fact that it MIGHT be somewhat walkable (These are our top two desires for a place to live) On paper it looks pretty borderline. Perhaps just barely walkable in the right spots. What are your thoughts?

We would have no commute...just need to get my kids to school and get Asian food for the family haha. Would we be able to live car-lite, only needing a car for special trips and not on a daily basis? Or would we literally be the only people trying to walk around the neighborhood for necessities?

Just trying to see if I should bother to investigate further or not. Thanks!

Hello, my name's Bryan, I'm 34 and recently moved to south Buena Park, and I love basketball but suck at it. I want to play with other people of any skill level who don't mind my complete lack of a jumpshot or endurance. Be that pickup or at a church or just someone's driveway, I'm game. At like 1:25 am, my boyfriend and I saw a flash of blue and green light in the eastern sky. There wasn’t any sound, only a flash of light. Does anyone know what it was because my boyfriend is convinced it’s a UFO.
