Hiya all! Recently swapped my OEM wheel out for a little quick release set up on my 1996 gen6!
I’m guessing loads of you have already done this and to you that have I need some help in terms of wiring for my airbag light and horn!
The wheel I bought did come with a resistor for the airbag light but i’ve got no clue where to solder it to, same goes for the horn as i’ve never ran an aftermarket wheel before. Rather go in with the full know how than blindly doing it.
Any diagrams, videos or even length comments that will help me get this done will be greatly appreciated.
PFA!
I'm converting my rear drums into disk the driver side rotor is going on fine and spinning freely little to no resistance but the passenger side rotor will go on but won't spin, start wheel adjustment is all the way in and parking cable is off.
Any tips or ideas why the passenger side won't spin?

So my 1993 Celica GT automatic started making this rattling sound. Seems to be coming from the front. Only happens while driving and can’t get that sound from revving it up while stationary. Thought lifters at first but it should make the same sound if I revved it up which it isn’t. Any ideas on where it could be coming from
Question about the coolant levels in the expansion tank on the 7th Gen 2ZZ.
I seem to be having Low coolant levels when the car is cold and sitting in the garage overnight, however after a short 5-10min drive when rechecking, it will be at the full mark again.
Should I be topping up? I understand that coolant expands when hot but what is the correct measurement, when cold or hot? I have also bled the system for any bubbles and was mostly fine.
Looking for a steering knuckle assembly for a 98’ gt, tried buying a new one ended up with a 7th gen’s knuckle that didn’t work, would anyone in this subreddit have a 6th gen celica knuckle for the passenger/right side?
So I have a problem I have a Toyota Celica T 18 1.6 from 1993 STI that suddenly stopped starting. I drove this car as my daily and it worked every time completely fine until I didn’t drove it for one day and the next day it didn’t start and it sounded like a CD was thrown out of a radio.
I firstly thought it was a bad battery but my battery was completely full. Then I searched for a broken fuse, but all of them also are alright and then my next guess was to starter, but when we dismantled the starter and put it to the test on its own battery, it worked completely fine and had no problems whatsoever.
We cleaned all the connections of the battery and all the cables and tested all the cables separately if they had ground and everything but as soon as we put the starter back into the car and tested it, it wouldn’t do a thing, and we tested voltage of the power cable that leads to the starter and it only showed 8 to 10 V which seems pretty low, but I’m not expecting in this field.
Is 8 to 10 V too low and if yes, how can I fix the problem?
Thanks and for your help and tips and have a great evening.
Guess who got burned again?
meeeee 🫠
I posted in here a fewmonths ago about being sold a Celica that was completely rotten, and it has literally JUST happened to me again.
This time I bought a T-Sport with the TRD bodykit, thought I may as well get one with a 2ZZ engine this time around. Had some cosmetic issues and a dodgy boot latch but nothing I can't fix. Or so I thought.
Today I took it for a service as it was sold to me with old oil (perhaps this should have been a red flag for me idk?) and my mechanic flat out refused to proceed with the service because it wasn't even worth doing. He says the chassis arms are holed, the rear arches are completely wrecked and there are multiple oil leaks.
This is as much of a rant as it is a plea for advice, how do I prevent this from happening again?
The one I just bought has freshly welded sills, a new rear subframe and new coilovers. So I bought it on the assumption that the rest of the car was solid. After all, who the hell welds a car that isn't worth saving??
I was told the only way to protect myself in future is to pay the AA to do a vehicle inspection before the sale, but they only inspect cars up to 20 years and the proper detailed one is £300.
£300 on a £2500 car seems uneconomical no?
(but losing £2500 feels even worse I suppose)
Also: the guy that sold me the car is supposed to be phoning me sometime this evening.
Extremely curious to see what he says considering he told me the car was basically perfect.
I want a Celica SO so badly, I love these cars. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson on the first one but no.
But I'm starting to think that if I don't have welding skills, a car lift, or a garage to work in, that maybe these cars simply aren't for me?
Is my biggest issue that I am not spending enough?
But then again, if I buy a £6000 Celica, there's no guarantee it'll be in better nick either.
I feel like the price of gen 7 Celicas has soared astronomically in Scotland even though the cars themselves are almost always in awful condition. I get that they're getting rarer but wtf???
AAAAAA I just don't know
It might be time to give up and just save up for a GT86 :(
I legit feel like the stereotypical dumb woman who knows nothing about cars and the shame is kind of eating me alive. My brother legit warned me about buying old japanese cars for this exact reason, and I didn't listen because hurr durr me like JDM cars 🥴
(TL;DR, bought a Celica, took it for a service, car is falling to bits on the underside, should I give up on Celicas for good because I'm not a mechanic or a welder?)
