Ok long story short I gave Freedom a try and I got caught by the poor indoor/large building reception that has been flagged by *many users* here. Coverage was overall totally fine but definitely not fine inside large buildings (i.e. Costco size buildings), top floors of large office towers in downtown, parking garages, elevator banks, etc. I have an iPhone and this is in Calgary.

And then things get weird.

Posted my story and I start getting unhinged replies accusing me of being paid to spread “fud on freedom”?? “As usual”? What the actual F? I get DM messages demanding my IMEI number to check device compatibility and threats to return? I had people accusing me of installing Freedom wrong, Of not knowing what an APN number is, Of having an incompatible device. Claims that “big 3” was sabotaging my signal. On and on and on and on with the excuses and these people never concede it that maybe, just maybe, if the same phone works on multiple other networks in large buildings suddenly the coverage on Freedom is trash that *perhaps the network is the problem*

What the honest to god F is going on here?

The Future of Mobile Plans May Not Be About More Data.

6G still seems far away for most Canadians. Today, many consumers are still trying to understand the difference between LTE, 5G, 5G+ or a plan with more data. Yet the decisions shaping tomorrow’s networks are already starting to take form.

Canada and its partners in the Global Coalition on Telecommunications recently welcomed the European Union as the coalition’s first strategic partner. The group includes Canada, Australia, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Finland and Sweden. Its goal is to support next-generation networks that are more secure, resilient and interoperable.

But for consumers, the real question is much simpler: what could this change for tomorrow’s mobile and internet plans? (read the full article on our blog)

I called a Best Buy Mobile near me to verify as the price seemed out of place while the prices of other plans are increasing.

We have a very basic nubia cymbal2 flip phone purchased from chatr for my mother when speakout converted to 4g with Telus. Does anyone know how to clear the emergency alrt notice from the outside screen? I googled instructions for how to remove it and only managed to get rid of the notification from the phone when it is flipped open. However, that alert still shows on the display when it is folded closed.

In April, i signed up for a plan with PC Mobile, thinking that it would be a good choice for me. It was not. My main concern with PC Mobile, was that there was a lack of account security. With PC Mobile, you don't use an email or password to log into your account, you use the SIM card on your phone.

I would much rather have a way to log in to manage my account with an email and password for better security.

Hi. Are there any providers that offer an actual human being to call for support?
I’ve been with Telus for years and years and always appreciated the customer support options. Now I have to go through AI and social media and may get a chance to book an appointment to speak with a real person. The self service options aren’t helpful for what I need to do.
