[WAW] Found this potential gem while cleaning.

Still sealed. Never played WAW mainly because I started around the mw2-mw3 era, pretty sure I have a spare disc of it laying around.

[COD] This is the Worst Multiplayer Since the Warzone Era Change my Mind

It’s been a while since this game came out, so we can look back on it—and it’s not hard to see that this is one of the worst Call of Duty multiplayer experiences in a long time. It’s basically competing with Vanguard and MWII, and while those games each had something going for them—one offered fluidity, the other atmosphere—this game fails on both fronts.

It feels clunky, generic, and extremely safe. Maps were terrible, omnimovement didn’t really add much, if we’re being honest.

There’s just nothing about the multiplayer that stands out or feels memorable—even when compared to MWII and Vanguard.

Vote for the classic [COD] games for backwards compatibility on Xbox!

I started a fan voting site where users can vote on games they'd like to see Backwards Compatible on Xbox, and have even gotten some recognition from folks at Xbox.

It's not a petition, more of a place to centralize demand for these older games to be playable again. XboxGamePreservation.com is the site.

[COD] the recommended way of aiming a gun is with both eyes open. it creates a double vision because you are staring at it with two eyes,

so i believe that, in videogames, the rear sights should be transparent/translucent instead of solid. your other eye is literally seeing past (unobstructed) by the rear iron sights

[CoD] What was the meta of Call of Duty: World At War?

Moving onto the next game, this one is pretty interesting due to its outdated weaponry at our disposal. I never played a ton of WaW but I played enough to know that weapons with high rates of fire were very powerful as so many weapons had very low RoF's, but also: Juggernaut. Being able to survive an additional bullet or two when not many bullets are being thrown out is a massive benefit. WaW also very much seemed to favor camping due to how difficult it could be to both push a player out of their hole but also with how difficult breaking out of spawn could be. What else can you all add?

MW and BO need to end [COD]

Both of the series’s has been done to death. In og mw they finished the story, and it was good. Everyone is gone except Price, but now in the new series I think it’s only Soap has died, and they’ve done that to continue the story, and it a rubbish story on top of it.

But besides the story, people have said they need mw or bo name to sell, yet that’s a lie. The name that sells is Call Of Duty. Not only that, I’m wanting to see an exo movement game again because it’s been 10 years since the last, and exo movement, in my opinion, that’s what really split the player base. But that’s been gone, and I think the newer movement is much more worse than exo.

My final point is we can’t keep going from mw to bo. Since 2019 it’s went mw, Cold War (bo game), vanguard, mw2022, mw2023, bo6, and the newest black ops game then another mw game. Only one game in this 8 year time period that wasn’t a mw or black ops game.

And worst part is MW and BO used to feel like distinct eras and identities. Now it just feels like recycled branding, reused ideas, and nostalgia bait.

Is it just me that thinks COD is ‘in the bin’ and needs a massive overhaul to make it enjoyable again? [WAW]

So I have thinking a lot about this recently as I miss the old days of COD, where you actually feel you’re in a war simulation game and not being shot at by fucking Bevus and butthead.

Next proper COD should be a WW2 or WW1 based game, back to its roots boots on the ground, none of this advanced movement bollocks. ( I have fired a reel rifle and it’s sometime hard enough to hit a stationary target never mind a moving one while you’re acting like a rabbit). COD WAW is the best game ever by far. A new one needs to be similar to that in-terms of the music, the sound, the ambiance, bring back proper gore. I Used to think you were getting sent to gulag for losing a game on WAW playing as the Russians it was that intense, that’s how it should be. The multiplayer was so fun with the only issue being lack of kill streaks imho.

A proper campaign where your actions affect the rest of the campaign, for example, depending how quickly you take the beaches at Normandy will determine what reinforcements Germans have later in campaign, and vice versa. Have it from a German side too where you play as the Germans, be dark, have nods to the holocaust where you have to interact at a camp (obviously be respectful and never mock the victims) but do it from an educational perspective. Have different scenarios where you decide what soldier you want to be and the effects that has later in the, be ruthless or show mercy sort of thing. Have tactical sections where you decide yourself how to attack the enemy and the different outcomes that has rather being led through following AI. Could even do like a promotion system in the campaign, how you play it, more kills and ground you cover get promoted and lead, unlock better weapons and kit, while playing worse hinders you and eventually lead to possible cannon fodder sort of thing.

Get rid of skins of actors and cartoon to play in a battle royals. Keep battle royale and make it better, but to keep the micro transactions, you release skins of real war heroes, likes of Desmond doss and ‘Mad’ Jack Charlton. Not just skins though mini campaigns to go along side it, where you play as them heroes. You must complete the campaign to unlock it on certain difficulty, so having the best weapons and camos means something not just who has the biggest wallet. There so many different heroic and epic war stories out there so the content would be endless, plus it would teach people the not just the horrors of war but the history that comes with it.

Have a nazi zombie mode too just for fun. Personally my favourite was WW2 zombies, was different and repayable but understand if people wanted to avoid that.

Sorry for long post just been so fucked off with cod recently and wanted to get my thoughts down. Please feel free to add any other ideas. I’m a big history lover so will love ideas relating to it.

[COD] Call of Duty 2003 stutter on modern PCs (Ryzen / high refresh fix)

If anyone is having stutters in Call of Duty 2003 on modern hardware (especially Ryzen + high refresh monitors), I fixed it by stabilizing the engine instead of boosting performance.

What worked for me:

•	FPS cap at 120 (huge difference vs 144+)

•	r\_swapInterval 1 (in-engine VSync for stable frametime)

•	com\_hunkmegs 256 (reduces memory spikes)

•	r\_dynamiclight 0 (removes lighting stutter)

•	fullscreen mode (r\_mode -1)

The main issue wasn’t FPS, but frametime spikes when bots spawn and the engine loads AI + effects at once.

After this, the game is completely smooth, no more micro-stutter during enemy spawns.

[COD] What exactly is the appeal of classic maps such as Nuketown, Rust and Shipment?

The first thing that comes to mind is these maps are very small and knowing that player will automicallg use the sprint and even slide buttons to go from A to B and try to get kills in creative ways, the experience in this maps are most chaotic.

You sometimes find corners to get kills from all of the other directions, but no corner is technically a good spot because there are barely any cover to hide behind and heal up once you take damage.

Again, most of the matches involve a lot of people coming from all directions and you have to be extra careful that you do not get caught in the crossfire and not be another victim of another person's quick kill.

I know that these are well beloved, and people play on these maps all the time. But strategically speaking, if someone tries to be attentive or use cover or try to flank, there are very few opportunities to do these things and most optimal strategy that you can use is run around the map, get as much as kills as much until you randomly die by another person who using the same thing.

Please, I am not trying to hate on these maps.

I am just trying to understand the design philosophy and how they can be used to take advantage of the players' strategies

[COD] If Call of Duty ever tries to experiment by going into the future again, what elements should there be to make it work?

The only future-based COD (or at least it was futuristic at the time) that started this trend was Black Ops 2.

It showed a semi-futuristic setting with mostly fictional weapons and equipment but still familiar because it was still boots on the ground type of gameplay.

Then Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and the rest of the Black Ops games tested this even further by adding my movement mechanics to add another layer of strategy, but this led to mixed opinions.

On one hand, you have another layer of strategy for trying to master the movement system.

But on the other hand, the maps were small so there was not that much room. People hated having to look up and down because it required having to look around you and above you. And having a sense of verticality was also a risk because you would be exposing yourself in open air.

Perhaps that is the biggest reason why everyone really disliked the Infinite Warfare trailer when it released because the fans felt that this was not what COD meant to be which is why they want back to WW2 and go back to boots on the ground.

But let's say hypothetically. Let's say a near future setting or in the far future where the developers can experiment with a lot of things, what are certain things that will make the games work if the developers will experiment the futuristic setting again?

what would it take for you to actually be excited for a new cod again, and i mean genuinely, not just for a week [MW2]

i still check every new cod when it drops but i dont really feel anything before that anymore, like i see the trailer, gameplay, whatever and its just kinda yeah ill probably try it

used to be the opposite, felt like every new one was a big deal. now its more like i already know what its gonna feel like before i even play it.

then i get it, play for a bit, maybe grind for a week or two if im bored, and then just stop without really thinking about it

not even because its bad, just nothing really pulls me back in

think part of it is the yearly cycle, you barely get used to one game and then its already time for the next one. and the size thing doesnt help either, downloading a game that takes half your space when youre not even sure youll stick with it is kinda annoying.

but for me its not even just that stuff

i think the main thing i miss is just playing because its fun, not because theres something to unlock or some event going on, like just queueing matches for no reason and not thinking about anything else

idk if thats something the game can even fix or if its just me at this point

what would actually make you excited for a new cod again?

Cant play the game - Parental Consent Problem - $25 reward to anyone who can help me play! [COD]

Hi all -

25 year player of Call of Duty here. I've been an Xbox man for years but was talked into getting a PS5 as i travel a lot and it's easier to transport around.

In Jan 2026 I bought the new Black Ops 7 (zombies baby) to play with family and friends while I lived abroad.

And then when i booted up the game, ran into this screen:

https://preview.redd.it/lfu5sdygdltg1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=9fa2a9825de1e33fc28b719e92aba9e73efc55c8

And when i filled it out, got to this screen:

https://preview.redd.it/exopf94jdltg1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=6855d35716d4dcc14bd00ae46554a84a8998e7aa

And I've been stuck there for 4 months. Activision support is unbelievably bad - they are answering me roughly weekly and telling me to switch emails or try new emails, or log out and back in - things like that. And every time get stuck back at this screen. Currently, they responded to me after 19 days telling me to remove my email address from my account and change it to a newly created email - it didnt work. That was almost a month ago with no response.

I am happy to pay $25 dollars to anyone who can help me.

I have spent hours and hours with ChatGPT running through as many options as i can and it seems to have given up haha. Full disclosure, I had my AI buddy give a list of things we have already tried which i will paste below.

Thanks - hope to see you on the battlefield shortly!

What I’ve already tried

• Logging in via PlayStation (PSN: baileyhooser) multiple times

• Confirmed PSN login always resolves to Activision account:

baileyhooser#2762613 (child account)

• Completing the parental consent form repeatedly

• Captured network logs in Chrome DevTools

• Confirmed request:

PATCH https://xo-client.activision.com/vpc/v1/consent

returns HTTP 500 (Internal Server Error) every time

• Verified server JSON response shows backend failure (not client-side issue)

Environment testing

• Chrome (normal + incognito)

• Mobile browser on cellular (no WiFi)

• Different devices

• Different networks

→ Same result across all

Account / email troubleshooting

• Identified multiple Activision accounts:

  • mbailey1560#6022789 (Outlook)
  • mikeypalabra#9540592 (Gmail)
  • baileyhooser#2762613 (PSN-linked child account)

• Followed Activision instructions to resolve email conflict:

  • Changed email on mikeypalabra#9540592
  • Freed original email

• Retried consent flow after freeing email → still HTTP 500

• Tried using completely different emails in consent form

Registration / identity tests

• Attempted to create brand-new Activision accounts with:

  • New Gmail accounts
  • New Atomic Mail accounts

• System returns “email already registered” even for new emails

• Password reset attempts return “unexpected error”

Login / access attempts

• Tried logging in directly via Activision site

• Tried logging in via PSN button (OAuth flow)

• Always redirected back to parental consent loop

• Cannot access account settings due to consent block

Deep debugging

• Captured HAR files from DevTools

• Confirmed backend 500 occurs after valid request payload

• Verified issue persists after email conflict was removed

Support actions

• Opened support case (over 6 weeks ongoing)

• Provided:

  • failing endpoint
  • HTTP 500 logs
  • reproduction steps
  • account IDs

• Followed all instructions given by support

• Filed BBB complaint

• Received response confirming email conflict → resolved it → issue still persists

Current state

• PSN account is locked to baileyhooser#2762613

• Account is stuck in parental consent loop

• Consent endpoint fails server-side (HTTP 500)

• Cannot access a paid game

What I need help with

Looking for:

• Any workaround to break the consent loop

• Any way to access or reset the hidden child account

• Any method to unlink PSN from this broken Activision account
