My 2026 CX-50 turbo meridian started exhibiting a vibrating/rattling sound somewhere from the passengers dash/glove compartment area. Vehicle has just 700 miles on it.

Noticeable at slower speeds when going over small bumps or uneven road surface.

I've seen some reddit posts mention issues with the hood rubber piece or the bottom foot well area of the passenger side. I'll try playing around with the rubber pieces. But could the sound be coming from somewhere buried deep within the dash?

Would the dealership realistically be able to pinpoint the noise and fix?

One of my idiot friends who’s never borrowing any of my vehicles again, spilled soda on the center console. He got most of it off the surface. But now the parking brake and back button are sticky. The back button doesn’t push down well anymore, it almost doesn’t work most of the time. And pulling up on the parking brake switch, it’s also sticky. How do I go about cleaning under the buttons? I’m not taking part the entire center console.. I don’t think. The parking brake is easy I think.

Just replaced my brake pads, including the rears. After service, I can no longer engage the EPB at all.

Here is exactly what I did:

1. Engaged EPB maintenance mode. I can confirm I heard the EPB motors whirring for at least 10 seconds after entering this mode.
2. Replaced rear pads.
3. Compressed rear caliper pistons. I did this by turning the piston clockwise and pressing in. I suspect this may be the culprit?
4. Re-seated caliper over pads/rotors and buttoned everything up.
5. Attempted to exit EPB maintenance mode. Whenever I press the parking brake switch, I get an error message saying that action is not accepted. Nothing I do will allow the use of the parking brake switch. I've also attempted the reset procedure per this TSB but it does not fix the issue.

The brake control system warning light is on (NOT the Parking Brake or ABS lights). While driving >25mph, I get a persistent "Parking Brake Applied" warning, but the brakes work and I don't feel any drag or resistance.

Any advice? Did I wreck the EPB or does something need to be recalibrated?

Just got word from the dealer that Canada has essentially run out of inventory for the CX-50 hybrid and will no longer be importing anymore for the foreseeable future.

Total bummer, but what would your recommendation of an alternative be? How is the CX-70 PHEV? Should I wait for the CX-5 Hybrid next year?
