A rant in the idiocracy of law
New to guns here, but familiar with state statutes in other respects. I'm smashing my head against the wall at the idiocracy of the features ban in CT gun law. It doesn't make sense. You can't even argue it because it isn't meant to make sense. It's meant to be confusing and stupid because there's no sense behind it.
They want to ban scary guns that can do mass shootings. Great. That's all of them. So instead they ban ergonomic features on guns? Is an adjustable stock going to let someone shoot more children than otherwise? Is a pistol grip in which the non trigger fingers are underneath the action of the weapon going to be that much better for the shooters carpal tunnel that I he is less distracted while shooting up a mall? God forbid a car jacker have a handgun that is built with a shroud to prevent him from burning his hands on the barrel of the gun, not including the slide.
Why do I, the law abider, have to follow these restrictions for my plinking range toy when the mass shooter/terrorist who's fucked in the head won't?
That's all. You've heard it all before folks, but for someone who has never been a gun person other than video games and knows very little of firearms in real life, reading the law as it's written should be obvious for the average reasonable person to realize it's not meant to protect anyone.
