Cranstonbike.com scummers

Don't order a bike from them. I placed an order through their website on April 21, 2026. I still haven't received a tracking number from them. It's been 20 days already. And now they've stopped responding to WhatsApp, even though they were quick to respond at first. The most interesting thing is that I read reviews here that people received their bikes. I think these are most likely front people.

BrompNot Shipping from Poland

Called an Evercross but it's clearly a white label Cranston. Apparently an early bird deal so price could go up after this first batch are sold off but this is a great sign that these bikes are now being brought into EU warehouses.

Does anyone have experience with Takachia bike?

I'm thinking to buy Takachia C20, does anyone have experience with this bike? I want a folding bike, but my budget is very limited that is why I found a Takachia. Also I do not have any experience with folding bikes,so if someone can share your experience using Takachia and compare it with other brands,I will be very happy

Thanks

After looking at many options, I've decided to buy a Cranston R9. Cranston seemed like a reputable brand (source: mostly reddit) and it was one the cheapest option. I've bought it directly from their website (using Whatsapp) for 500€ (including taxes and delivery).

It arrived well packaged after a bit more than 2 months. The position of the grip, gear and brake levers was very uncomfortable by default but it was easily fixed without affecting the fold. It came with some low quality goodies (lock, bell, multitool) that I won't be using. It also came with the wheel extender which I thought was only on the R9 Max. The bike is perfectly usable like this and I was very happy with the quality overall. It weighted a bit less than 12kg which is less than the advertised 12.5kg.

The ride quality is not as good as on my bigger bicycle but I was expecting it and I have no reason to think it's worse than other 16" bicycles. It's less stable than my big bike (I can't let go of the handlebar) and on unpaved roads I feel the bumps more. But what bothered me the most was the gear ratio, I'm used to riding fast and even using the 9th gear I feel very slow.

I've had the bike for a few months now and I've made several changes to it:

  • I've removed the Cranston logo, it doesn't look bad but I prefer a cleaner look and it came out easily.
  • I've replaced the folding pedals with quick-release ones to gain a few centimeters in width when folded.
  • I've replaced the triangular rear rack with a rectangular one so I can attach standard bike accessories on it. I've had to remove the back fender for that but it wasn't very effective anyway.
  • I've changed the chainring to a bigger one (from 53T to 60T) so that I can finally reach a decent speed (still slower than my road bike but that's fine). I've also put a longer chain to go with it. To fit it, I've had to remove the small thingy that prevents the chain from falling when folding on high gear, but I don't fold when on high gear (especially now that my high gears are actually high) so that's fine.
  • I've added a spring to provide some suspension. The polymer thingy it came with is not elastic at all.

I've spend around 100€ for these upgrades and the bike is now 12.5kg, including the repair kit that fits inside the frame.

Electric D10 (Aceoffix®) Incoming ?!

No info from me. I had to download the RedNote app just to find pics and vids of this (I'm not even Chinese (but you can still option any language)).

Aesthetically, the seat post battery may not appeal to most, but for a commuter like me ... I need this bike!

I'm surprised there's no e-shifting as well (or does it need it?).

Keyde® rear-hub motor?

I’m close to being finished with this bike build. It’s finally sub 8kg, single speed, and everything works when folding (chain doesn’t fall etc.).
Aluminium frame, carbon seatpost, carbon saddle, carbon handlebars, carbon fork. Single speed conversion, litepro brake levers, muqzi extended eazy wheels, litepro aluminium front carrier, ultralight pedals with titanium axles. Bell, phone mount and frame storage bag included in weight.

Still in progress:
- custom ”Slipstream” frame stickers
- 2 teeth larger front chainring + 160mm cranks

Questionnaire Coming Soon - Please contribute questions / data points to Questionnaire

Fellow BrompNot/TriFold owners!

I will soon ask volunteers in the community who are owners of these bikes to fill out a questionaire about purchasing a BrompNot or Trifold and their experience in order to help all people who wish to purchase one as well.

What questions should I ask / data should I gather to help all of us? Please contribute below.

So far I have thought to ask these questions:

If you bought a BrompNot or Trifold -

  • Bike model name, wheel size, gearing # (external or IGH) frame material
  • Where did you buy it from? —> Business - Link or Physical Location
  • Purchase Cost TOTAL - Please if possible break down all costs: Retail Price, Additional Sales Tax, Delivery Cost, Additional Fees at time of purchase
  • Additional fees once imported into country? Complications? --> Which country?
  • Time to Deliver to your address?
    1. Packaging Quality?
    2. You live in Major City, town, or very rural?
    3. What country was bike delivered to?
  • If you communicated with seller, good service? Modifications requested?
  • Tracking Number? Delivery Updates were provided?
  • Weight of bike upon delivery (before any modifications)
  • Folded measurements upon delivery (without pedals, saddle) .....

What other questions should I ask / data should I gather to help all of us? Please contribute below.

I’ve been researching BrompNOT bikes and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. I’d appreciate some community recommendations to help me narrow down my search.

I’m 6’1” (185cm) and 240lbs (110kg), and I live on a hill. I need a reliable bike that can carry my weight and has gearing suitable for hill climbs. I plan to use it to commute to the office 1-2 days a week and for fun short rides around the town and parks. I want it to be fairly compact to fit in my car and for easy storage in my home and office. Ideally, it should be able to occasionally haul a Thule kids trailer.

My budget is around $1200.

What are some bike brands that build reliable BrompNOT bikes that work out of the box without any extra adjustments and can ship to the USA?

I’m currently considering the Cranston S20, which seems like an appropriate option for my needs and the budget. Should I look into other brands / models?

New to BrompNOTs!

New to the BrompNOTs scene!

20", 10-spd, chrome steel.

Was doing XC, then roadie and stopped riding for 6 years. Not familiar with foldie before this, but the ride is quite impressive actually. Best thing of course is the possibility to fold, dump in car and go. 😂

Found in the UK on FB Marketplace. Was looking at maybe a second-hand Brompton or maybe importing a Cranston/LitePro/Mint/etc when I found this. Don’t think I’ve come across any other Brompnots in the UK! Anyone else have a Mint?

69T Chainring does work on BrompNOT (barely)

Behold! 69T on my Cranston. (10 Spd 11-42/Zee Deraileur)

Does it fold? Yes! (Barely) See photos. I can use the hook too!

But be aware! My bike came with this little metal sleeve on the chainstay and yours might too. The chainring does SLIGHTLY push into it. The sleeve is aluminum from what I can tell so the chainring doesn't get damaged, it just dents the sleeve. Sleeve can be removed, I won't do that though.

I didn't put a new chain on, I just took off my 53T and used same chain. It still works up to gear 7 (28T) of 10. I may test with a longer chain but my first test will be trying to see if my 38T chainring can fit on the back side of this Vinyl record, I mean chainring, and still use gears 8-10.

Why would I do this? To go faster, duh. My city is mostly flat, and the hills it does have are STEEP, hence why I'd prefer to run a 38T next to the 69T if possible.

I'm no pro cyclist in terms of form nor cadence. I struggle to maintain 25+ km/h on 53T.

I just test road the 69T. Wow 25 km/h is EASY now. I'm going to be passing tons of electric scooters now who are used to passing me.

Because it's rainy/slick tonight I didn't feel comfortable pushing the RPM to the max but I got to 36 km/h on nearby short stretch of road. With a 53T I would already spin out / be beyond my RPM comfort zone when reaching 36 kmh. So according to the math I'll hit 45 km/h at the same cadence.

2 sellers I found. One is more budget friendly and heavier which is the one I bought. Chainring 1

And the other is more expensive but lighter (and has options up to 120T lol. They also sell 68T and 70T with smaller diameter than option 1. Chainring 2

One could use bigger rings but 285mm is the max if you want to fold the bike completely.

Update: 38T works on the back side of the ring for gear 6 to 10 (24-42T cogs)

BrompNOT options in México

Hi, I'm from México and I'm really interested in purchasing a trifold bike but their not sold by local retailers in my country.

Does any one have any experience buying a BrompNOT bike and importing it into México? I'm especially worried about shipping and tariffs from Aduana, so I'm looking to see if there's any preference on buying from Aliexpress or directly from manufacturers like Cranston or Litepro so I get my bike and minimize the chance of it getting lost or damaged in transport.

Any guidance or feedback on what the best options could be would be greatly appreciated :)

I ordered this folding bike from alibaba. It's a brompton clone with 20-inch tires. What's a good ebike conversion kit for it? I plan on using this bike for touring around the US along with using buses and trains. I was thinking of a hub motor since it's cheaper than a mid drive. Specifically, the Bafang 48V 500W Rear Hub Motor Kit 20" tires(the whole thing with secondary battery comes out to be $910 which seems a lot in my opinion) But I was wondering if it would be enough to tackle hills or not. Is my selection good, or are there better options? The model is Fashion MINT Folding Bicycle 20inch 9speed Disc Brake Foldable High Quality Molybdenum Steel Frame T9D-20D Tri-folding Bike.

Hi,
Has anyone tried this bike? I’m on the lookout for a compact electric folder. I am considering a Brompton c line, however this one claims a nearly as good fold, with added disk brakes and a much smaller price. The only things that are holding me back are the lack of reviews and the front tire drive. Does anyone know much about this model or at least the brand? Is the front wheel drive a big deal?
