Have a litepro r9. Just went for my first ride and going into 1st gear twisted the tensioner against the chain ring and it’s now broken.

I ended up removing the tensioner and it seems to work fine now. I checked the images on the website and some have the tensioner and some don’t. I’ve contacted litepro for more information, but could this be an issue with my derailed or just the wrong part on the bike?

The bike chain, ate this tensioner as well (pic2) Now rides and shifts a lot better since removed. But I’m worried it needs to be on to stop the chain from being too loose.
