Getting a 2e, what do I need for the setup?

What all do I need for it? Its hard to find a solid guide on all the best options. What controllers and base stations do I get? Does it have a built in microphone and a 3.5mm/usbc for headphones

I'm planning to use it primarily for vrchat

Direct Drive Wheel EMI and Link Booster

So I was having trouble for a long time with tracking and gray screens due to EMI from my DD Wheel, i have tried grounding everything, change the route of cables, and still occasionally i would have the issue, at the end, it was only happening when the wheel was static, so I usually had to wiggle the wheel with one hand while doing anything else but driving to fight this.

This week I got the Link Booster ( https://store.bigscreenvr.com/products/link-booster ) , to fix a different issue (Audio Crackle), and OMG.

I don't have any issue with the EMI anymore,it is buttery smooth 99% of the time.

Why isn't this pinned somewhere, i mean, i had completely accepted my faith before.

Edit: Just to be clear,I got this for free by contacting the support, and it should be included by default in the new shipments, my point is that this isn't advertised as a solution to DD EMI issues.

Advice on selling BSB2e

*Delete if not allowed*
Anyone know of a good place to sell a BSB2e, I have one that’s only been used a few times, I just thought I’d use it more but don’t get much out of it. I have it up locally and there’s been little to no interest. I’m selling it with the universal face cushion, audio strap and 2 2.0 base stations.

Anyone have any ideas on where I can sell it relatively quickly?

I think this happened when Bigscreen sent me a thinner face cusion. The right lense slowly slips to a higher IPD. It was off by a good 5 or 6mm after a month. I'm going to start checking it every week, but has anyone heard of this?

I have been watching reviews of the headset, and they often mention the eye tracking being in beta. Things like poor accuracy and no eyelid tracking. I am wondering if this still persists, as the only reviews I have seen are old.

I want to get a BSB but I'm not very knowledgeable about VR, I know I need base stations and HTC is really my only option, but do I need trackers? I've seen people slapping trackers on their headsets which is goofy af but it also kind of defeats the purpose of the BSB imo

Do I need trackers for controllers? Will different controllers work with HTC base stations or do I need HTC controllers?

I'm looking at getting a set of prescription inserts for my Bigscreen Beyond 2 and am looking at VR-Rock. I see they have 5 free upgrades available which are:

  • Anti-Fog (Cost-Free)
  • Oil-Resistant (Cost-Free)
  • Scratch-Resistant (Cost-Free)
  • Easy to Clean (lotus effect) (Cost-Free)
  • Radiation-Resistant (Cost-Free)

Each option is individually selectable but I'm struggling to understand what the trade-off for these are. I have tried asking their chat assistant and it responded with:

>All of our coating options are designed to provide comfort and protection, without affecting the color of the lenses or the visuals.

I tried to push further as to why they are "options" and what the reasons one would consider not selecting any would be, and was told:

>There is no reason not to select any of the options—each one is designed to enhance your experience, and choosing none would simply mean missing out on available benefits tailored to your needs.

So, is it just a marketing thing to make you click all 5 options to make it feel like you're getting something extra, or is there a trade-off for these options that the chat assistant doesn't seem capable of articulating?

I've been sim racing on and off for 3 years now. This year was the year I decided to jump into it more consistently. I took down my triples and grabbed my PSVR2 in January and put in work. I knew the BSB2 was on my list to get but I was waiting for leads to go down or maybe something better/ more appealing to release. February I ordered the BSB2e and was hooked. I started putting in more hours each week and when the last season of Iracing updated I went full into the TCR series and found a discord with some great guys to race with. I started doing endurance races, 4 hours at nurburgring in the TCR solo due to my work schedule. The headset didn't bother me. SIDE NOTE: I got the beyondex mod kit for the head strap and I also had to get a new face cushion made as my original was slightly off. Support was extremely easy to work with.

The guys I race with asked if I wanted to do the N24 with 3 others. Sure why not. Come race day we had an issue with one of our teammates who had to drop. So 3 man 24 hours at the green hell, and I'm running VR. The whole time we did single stints, I hopped on about 4pm my time (race started at 9am) and took on the night shift both in-game night and actually night. There was some glare issues I would notice as soon as I got in the car, but by the time I hit T1 I didn't see them. I also had issues with micro drifting from the base stations, not sure what caused it but it got better through the night. I have a hot key on the wheel to reset my pov so it's just annoying if anything. Overall I logged 8 hours of race time in the headset in a 17 hour time frame. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HEADSET.

One of the issues I see people talk about is the eye tracking. Since February the eye tracking beta has gotten better. That, plus a better fitting face cushion and a better strap ( Sorry the base one is trash, throw it away and make something better or just do the audio strap design without the speakers) the eye tracking lines up every time.

Thank you bigscreen for making something like this.

I've had my Beyond 2e for a little while now and occasionally had issues where, seemingly at random, it would go from working completely fine to blackscreen. The headset is still being tracked, as I can see the camera and controllers moving in the desktop view of games, but just no display at all. It wasn't so bad before but it seems that its happening more consistently now and it's becoming unbearable.

I haven't managed to track down a cause through my own testing, the only leads I've got is that SteamVR's performance graph gets spammed with stuttering pink "Display Error" lines, but I've checked and rechecked the connections at every stage between headset, link box, and PC and I can't see anything wrong.

It might also be worth noting I'm running an AMD GPU, so I've had to use the suggested "Direct Mode" fix for the headset being recognised as a third display, and I do also have one of those booster adapter things that got sent out due to audio issues with the headsets.

Wanted to see if anyone here has any advise before I go to Bigscreen to see if there's anything they can do, since I'm still under warranty. Don't really want to go without my headset for a long period if I can avoid it.
